About Laura Andrews

We fell in love to the music of New Orleans and once we visited we felt like we were home and we never wanted to be anywhere else. This magical city, its music and people have captured our hearts, and we hope it will capture yours.

Laura Andrews purchased this house in 2015

Why Laura Andrews chose Downtown

Our home is an historic side hall shotgun built in 1865 and recently restored with loving detail. We purchased this house after hunting for a home in this neighborhood--the Marigny Triangle-- for nearly a year. It is exquisite and immediately took our breath away. We are proud to be able to offer the front rooms as a luxurious and private retreat for the discerning traveler.

What makes this house unique

The location of our home is perfect! It is a quiet, historic residential neighborhood within walking distance of the French Quarter, Frenchmen Street and the hip and trendy Bywater. The original wood floors, high ceilings, crown moldings and fireplaces offer a tantalizing mixture of luxury and old world charm.

Lovely and comfortable accomodations in Marigny

  • 5 of 5

This is a really nice and beautifully renovated two room suite in a historic home in Marigny. The host provides a bottle of wine, drinks, and snacks in the kitchenette upon arrival, a really nice touch that we appreciated. The rooms are spacious, in terrific condition, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The location is excellent, easy walking distance to Frenchmen Street, which is the focal point for entertainment in Marigny, and a short walk to the French Quarter, but located on a quiet and plesant residential street that is away from the nearby crowds and noise. I definitely recommend Ruby Slipper for brunch, which is right on the corner, and nearby Horn's for brunch and dinner. I visit New Orleans regularly and I look forward to staying here again.

Great Location - Great Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We were only steps away from great food and music! The place was clean, quiet and well suited for our four-night stay. That being said, it would be great to install new locks on the doors - ones that can be opened from the inside without a key. My husband went out for a run, and took the keys after locking the doors. This left me without a key or a way to get out in the case of an emergency.

Thank you very much. Again, we had a great stay, and will look to stay here again when we are back in New Orleans.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks so much for the heads-up on the locks, we will put additional keys in the suite, so sorry for the inconvenience. We look forward to having you back for your next vacation.

The Fleur de Marigny

  • 5 of 5

My son and I stayed at the Fleur de Marigny in New Orleans this past weekend. When we pulled up in front of the house we were thrilled! From the outside and inside, the house is adorable and just as it looks on the website. Laura gave me instructions on how to find the key and I found it easy to access. The

house is decorated so cute, as well as being very clean and comfortable. It is located on a nice little street that is quiet, but within walking distance of the French Quarter. On our last night we were too tired to walk far, so we ate at a wonderful, quirky little restaurant, Horn's, that is on the corner, one block away.

Laura was very accessible when we had a question about our stay. I highly recommend staying at the Fleur de Marigny if you are coming to New Orleans!

Perfect anniversary spot

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in this lovely home while celebrating our anniversary in New Orleans. The location was perfect as we parked our car safely across the street and were able to walk everywhere we wanted. Frenchman street for the jazz clubs and the French Quarter were all easily accessible. Oh and don't forget the Ruby Slipper restaurant around the corner.

As for the house itself, we loved it. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of room, everything was beautifully decorated. Probably the best thing though were the special touches left by Laura and Steve. The snacks were a nice touch but the beverages and bottle of wine in the refrigerator were very much appreciated. There is only a microwave for cooking but who really wants to cook while visiting New Orleans where there is so much wonderful food.

This lovely place helped make our anniversary special and we would love to come back again.

Perfect location, beautiful home, gracious hostess

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic VRBO that is in a perfect location, near everything. It's on a quiet street but is only blocks from the Quarter or Frenchman street, and it is easy walking distance to the Bywater neighborhood. The home is tastefully decorated, well appointed and feels very authentic without being kitchy. Having a welcome basket of snacks and fridge of cold beverages is a delightful bonus and kind gesture of hospitality from Laura. Laura is very responsive to all sorts of questions and was accommodating with our late check out request. I would absolutely recommend this VRBO.
