Tarpon Springs

Temporary lodging

  • 3 of 5

When our home in Tarpon Springs was not finished in time, we were happy to find refuge at this property for eight weeks. We found the property clean and well stocked. The owner welcomed our two dogs, which was a plus for us, and was always available to answer questions or make any repairs that were necessary. The property is in a great location; central to everything and within walking distance to the docks as well as the center of town. Although not ultra modern or lavishly appointed, we found the property comfortable, spacious and more than adequate for our needs. If you need a nice, clean spot to stay which welcomes well behaved dogs, this is your spot in Tarpon Springs.

I'm the construction worker that somebody said that I stole items from this house but in stead I left more behind, the house was not clean properly when I moved in, very old furniture, I would like to say that the biggest problem I had was that they charged me for a set of bed sheets that had a stain of blood, but the owners of the property should come back and clean and make sure the house is suitable for someone to live in before they let some one rent the house, the chargers were made with out prior notice not very professional, overall I don't recommend this house to no body because it's not a house to have a good time in, rest and enjoy, don't bring your family here there are better places the rent. I've been in other houses that are way better. Don't rent this house because it is not worth it you would be wasting your money and it needs a lot of work, it will not cover your needs!!!

Convenient, needs lots of work! Cost too much for what it is.

This is a very conveniently located property if you want to visit the historic sponge dock area. Easy walking, lots of activity close by. However, there were many issues that need to be corrected by the owner. He is a great guy and has worked hard on the house. It is still not "high end" for sure. I will try and list the issues without disparaging him. I just feel he needs some guidance for this type rental.

The floors are terrible, all tile, but carpeting has been taken up throughout the living space and bedrooms leaving holes all around the perimeter and dust that cannot be mopped up. I mopped 4 times prior to our family arriving and they still all got dirty feet and socks. I mopped it twice prior to checking out. It just doesn't help. We had our early Thanksgiving celebration with family and didn't realize until the morning I was cooking that we had very few utensils to use. The day after I requested and was given permission to purchase some items for which he reimbursed me. (He stated that the prior renter stole a lot of items, however, he did not replace them and states to me in a conversation that he expected to rent to the same 7 construction workers upon our departure. That didn't make any sense to me.) Try cooking The items I bought were:

potato masher

measuring spoons

measuring cups

cookie sheet

vegetable peeler

can opener

serving spoons

rubber spatulas

towel hook (there was nothing close to the shower to grab your towel)

The toilet in the small bath was so dirty behind and on the hinges. There was so many stains and dirt around the base it was disgusting. There was a blood stain on the bottom sheet in the master bedroom. I could smell they had been washed, yet put back on the bed with the stain on it. There were bleach stains on one of the bedspreads and two pillow cases. Those should have been thrown out. The shower stall in small bath was not clean. There was used soap stuck to the corner of the floor and scum around the wall. Lighting situation in the bedrooms is not good. No light at all in the smallest bedroom. The lamps provided in the master and second bedroom are old and need to be on the light switch since there is no overhead light. There are no mirrors in the bedrooms which is inconvenient when several people need access to the bathrooms. There is a Florida room with no furniture for sitting. The two chairs provided for the deck (which has no wall or railing, are old, cheap, dirty plastic chairs
