The New 1940's Cottage In Rhinebeck N.Y.

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,250 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

2 Bedrooms, Large Kitchen, Screened Porch, 12 Minutes From Rhinebeck Village.

A totally renovated 1940's cottage feels traditional on the outside but has a thoroughly updated interior flow. It features two spacious bedrooms each with a Queen size bed. A large kitchen with gas cooktop stove, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, the original enameled cast-iron sink, plenty of sunlight and is equipped with everything you need to prepare endless gourmet meals. The original "dutch" door opens to a bright and sunny screened-in porch. The living room has a pull-out Queen sofa bed which allows the house to comfortably sleep 6. There is cable TV, internet service, washer/dryer, plenty of closet space, sheets, towels, fully stocked kitchen, an outdoor gas grill and a pellet stove for chilly evenings. The landscape is filled with enormously beautiful old pine trees which highlight the history of a house originally owned by the Rhinebeck Elementary School kindergarten teacher, her husband and four children in the 1950's.

The New 1940's Cottage In Rhinebeck N.Y.

Cool, cozy and comfy

  • 5 of 5

Great little cottage has everything to make a person feel at home. At first we were a little sad there was no indoor fireplace but after the ease of switching the fake one on and off with a remote ( no mess) we were happy and surprised at how cute it was. The property is very nice- great views of nature all around. Would definitely stay again for Hudson Valley hiking trips.

Wonderful country cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cottage while we attended a wedding. The arrival information was perfect, the location lovely and the ability to have a living room, kitchen and outdoor space was wonderful. The house is well-equipped, clean and tidy, comfortably furnished and easy to use. Folks should be aware that it is a country house and with that comes a bucolic setting, a peaceful night's rest and a few friendly mice and insects. That is not to say the cottage isn't clean, it absolutely is, it is simply to say that expectations should be for a wonderful country cottage experience - not a sterile showroom. We would stay again when we want to visit the area and recommend the spot to others.

Beautiful, cosy and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I decided to check out Rhinebeck and stayed in Theresa's beautiful cottage. It was a wonderful visit. The cottage is clean and very comfortable. It has everything you would need- updated kitchen and bathroom, washer/dryer. It has has a lovely screened in porch to eat dinner or breakfast in, or just hang out. The house is conveniently located to Rhinebeck towncenter, Wilcox park (swimming) and we very close to Burger Hill. We will be back! Thanks, Theresa!

The Perfect Country Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We are 2 couples from NYC who stayed here while attending a wedding in Rhinebeck and we're so glad we did! We decided to come up earlier in the week to hang out and relax - make a mini vacation of it. Just 5 minutes to the village of Rhinebeck and very close to the Taconic Parkway so the drive up was easy. The cottage is just adorable, very peaceful, nicely decorated with very comfortable furnishings. The owner is very accommodating and really goes out of her way to make the experience enjoyable. Morning coffee on the screened-in porch was delightful and it worked great for cocktail hour too! I can't speak for everyone but I could live there! We are thinking of coming back in the fall.
