Amazing Family Get Together

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for 4 overnights 8/9th to 8/13th. There were 10 of us. We had an amazing stay. Paul was very responsive to our questions. The house is clean and spacious. Beds and couches were very comfortable. Plenty of room for all 10 of us. I loved that they supplied plenty of trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper as well as tin foil and plastic wrap. Not all VRBOs do and this was a treat. We especially loved the lake and the fact that there were kayaks and paddle boards on the property so we didn't have to bring our own. The lake is clear and clean. The house sits on a quiet cove, so you can swim and kayak very close to the house. We brought our boat and we were able to tube in the cove. The views from the deck are outstanding. We had so much fun and would definitely come back here again. Things to keep in mind. There is not a private dock which would have been nice to tie the boat up and for fishing. If you have your own kayak paddles, I would bring them. Some of the paddles are good and some are broken and duct taped together. We would have been fine with the house paddles except we used all 6 kayaks/paddle boards when we went out each day. We were glad we brought two of our own and wished we had brought one more. The walk to the lake is long and rocky, so be organized. You don't want to forget things and have to return to the house. The pool table and ping pong table are great for the evenings after you are out on the lake. The only reason that I rated this house a 4 instead of 5 is the lack of a dock, otherwise it is a 5 for sure.

Owner's Response: Thank you for a great review. There were 2 new paddles in the closet with the life jackets -we had just bought them. The lakeshore is very strictly regulated by the Corps of Engineers - for some years now there has been a moratorium on getting permits issued to have a dock - it would be nice!! Luckily the ramp is just 3 doors away for a convenient boat launch. Paul Mare'

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

The Maré Family knows how to be the perfect host to their renters! This was our second time to rent this beautiful home, and we continued to love it as much as the first time. Clean, comfortable, well appointed, comfy beds, and a wonderful fun game room that kids and adults enjoy. We love to play pool and ping pong (table tennis, as my college professor would say). The neighborhood is quiet, and it’s just a stone’s throw to the water, and the hot tub was a delightful addition from last year. And the theater room continued to be our family’s favorite room of the house...with talk for days afterwards how we can renovate a room at home to copy it. As long as Paul is renting out this fantastic home, we will be returning. Already planning hopefully a week during the Summer of 2018. Thank you, Paul, for your continued hospitality and for being just the utmost of hosts! The Hynes Family, the McDoniel Family and the Bailey Family

Wonderful family time

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at your beautiful home. We had 3 generations of family to celebrate a 50th Anniversary as well as Thanksgiving. The home is comfortable and large enough to spread out. We also loved that the "young people" had a place to hang out downstairs while we older ones could go to bed in peace. The area was fun to explore as well. We hiked Sugar Loaf Mountain which was beautiful. Thank you!

Great Lake Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We came up for a long weekend October getaway. This house was perfect for our group of 8 adults since we have 4 couples and each was able to have their own room. The kitchen was fantastic and well stocked- perfect for cooking in. There is plenty of seating for dining as well. The house was spotless and perfectly in order with everything we needed. The pool table, ping pong, theater room, kayaks, and paddle boards were great added bonuses. The owner was very helpful, kind, and responsive. We rented a pontoon boat from Lacey's marina which I would highly recommend- about a 10 minute drive from the house. We loved our stay here and can't wait to come back!!

We didn't get to do it this trip but I would highly recommend taking the ferry from Fairfield Marina and riding over to Sugar Loaf Mountain (an island in the middle of the lake) and hiking to the top. It is a moderate hike but well worth it for the views!

Beautiful relaxing home.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. It felt like home. We all enjoyed the use of the kayaks and paddle boards every day ...and so many life jackets. The boys caught some fish which made their vacation. We had so much fun playing pool and ping pong. The open floor plan allowed us to all be together while cooking or hanging out. Enough seating for our family of 5 on the sectional in the living room. Plenty of space to spread out down stairs and in the theater room. There is a beautiful view of the lake. The grill worked great and there is a large deck to relax on. It is very private and quiet. It is a little drive into town for groceries, but it wasn't bad and the scenery is beautiful. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need. So much fun! We wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.
