2 bedroom, secluded villa - exclusive area
A single-floor, 2 bedroom villa on a large property in an exclusive area. Large private pool and extensive veranda dining area. All mod-cons (air conditioning, broadband internet, Sat TV, ..) and close proximity to the best beaches, hotels and tourist destinations.
Aphrodite’s Garden villa is perfect for a relaxing vacation with family and friends. At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, nestled in the Tala Hills, this spacious and air-conditioned villa is on a large plot and is entirely on one level. Both bedrooms are appointed with Mission-style furniture (introduced by Frank Lloyd-Wright) and have en-suite bathrooms.
The kitchen and dining areas are fully equipped, and the large lounge area is complete with flat-screen TV, entertainment equipment, chez-lounges, sofas and lounge chairs, and its patio doors open onto a broad veranda. This villa is also ideal for honeymooners (after all, Cyprus is the island of love), and others seeking a peaceful, relaxed lifestyle in close proximity to modern amenities.
The veranda and it's adjoining large pool come complete with a built-in barbeque, shaded tables and chairs, and is ideal for al-fresco dining. A large gravel area is at the rear of the property, and is great for children to play in.
Leading off a sweeping private driveway (secured by an automatic gate), the garden includes a pond, a lawn, a rose garden, and a grove of exotic trees and plants.
Please note that the villa was recently re-modeled and, unlike many holiday homes, is frequently updated with high-quality furnishings.

We’ve been coming back for years!
This have become a tradition for our family – we come to this lovely villa each spring for years. It sets up the summer for the family very nicely! It is a very peaceful experience for the family – but the beach, water park and harbor area are just minutes away. Let’s see – the pool is large and just the right temperature (they set the temperature for us!), the barbecue gets us into the summer mood (despite the odd burning), it has lots of space – in the villa, and the garden area, and the internet connection is reliable. Nothing to complain about at all. Have fun there.
It's great to place to get away
This villa is up in the hills near paphos where it's a little cooler in the summer. I live in Cyprus, and use this villa as a get-away a couple of times a year - it's perfect for it. Rory asked me to put this review here but i didnt want to as i like coming here and i dont want it to be booked! But, theyve been very good to me, so I need to repay them telling everyone that it is a very nice large villa, a great garden and pool, and very secluded and private. I love it!
It's super to have you stay; thank you for taking the time to write the review - it makes a difference! And, we always have a spot for you!
Car essential as too far away from all amenities
The villa was pleasant but not as the pictures portrayed. There was no grass in the garden and there was dog poo in several locations. The outside area has not been maintained The pool edges had grout falling out and the grease around the pool edge was not cleaned each time the pool was cleaned meaning you got greasy hands touching the sides. There are far too many posters dictating rules which are not necessary for sensible adults. The description states close to amenities this is only true if you have access to a car as there is a massive hill to walk up and down to get to any restaurants or supermarkets there are no little cafes or shops close by and with the temperature being so high you cannot walk that far in the hot sun during the day. Of a night lighting on the hill is non existent so it can be dangerous. The inside of the villa was comfortable but there was lots of dogs barking during the night and building work noise during the day. The visitors book does not inform you of the local delivery services that would save money on taxis etc. Nice sized plot but needs updating and maintaining.
First, please accept our apologies for being unable to extend your stay beyond 3 p.m.; as discussed, we needed to clean the villa in preparation for the next guest. As it was, forcing your late departure in that way made for a very embarrassing scene between the cleaners and following guests.
Please recognize that the pool is cleaned twice weekly. Heavy applications of sunscreen naturally results in high levels of oils in the pool - and that is simply out of our control. Moreover, the sun breaks down oils very quickly; the oils you observed were placed there by your party, not any prior guest. Either way, there is no oil in the pool or the surround now.
In terms of the need for a car, as described on the website, one is strongly recommended. We were very surprised you did not rent a car as suggested by email prior to your arrival; to get to the beach, supermarket, etc. it's at least a few miles. That said, I am very impressed you made it up Cardiac Hill! That is not something I've ever done (though my wife seems to like doing it in the mornings!). I always choose the alternatives.
Summer in Cyprus does get quite warm - and that does impact garden growth (even with copious watering). For that reason, gravel is quite common for landscaping large gathering areas; it provides a soft, usable and durable surface. I'd be interested to understand how the photos are misleading - and I note that no other guest has suggested they are misleading.
Also, as you mentioned to Debra, we are sorry if Will tripped on the long step dividing the pool area from the al fresco dining area; as you suggested in your email, we placed a sign by the step. With that in mind, we were surprised by your comment on signs. Since most of them have been suggested by guests themselves, we will, on balance, likely leave them in place as they provide useful tips in an unfamiliar place.
In terms of noise, we have not had anyone complain in the 8 years we have had guests. At all. I have never had such a problem when there. Indeed, in a cul-de-sac in that location, the villa is possibly the furthest one can get in Cyprus from what you describe - or any country; as is obvious from a quick look at the map.
In summary, we understand your disappointment at the unavailability of a later check out. That said, the poo comment seems a little overboard.

20 kms from Paphos Airport you can be in the exclusive Tala hills, the Beverley Hills of Cyprus, with spectacular mountain vistas as a backdrop to stunning sea views and sunsets. Tala is far enough from the tourist hustle, but close enough to get it when needed. The village square is just 1k away and offers many Tavarnas. The local community club for Brits is great for a dip and club sandwichs; go and make some lasting friendships there as many have!
The best Blue Flag sandy beaches in Cyprus are less than 5km away at Coral Bay, with exclusive hotels, and the range of boating, snorkeling and water sports -and the beautiful Akamas Peninsular is irresistible for its hiking and horse riding trails. 5km the other way is the C12th St. Neophytos monastery. Paphos is geared for kids too; such as the fun times they get at the world-class Aphrodite Water Park and, they can enjoy go-kart tracks and paint-ball grounds.
