Why Laura MacCaskey chose Tower Grove South
Property is affordable, quiet, safe, close enough to downtown without being in the noise and issues with parking, and within walking distance to major St Louis attractions.
What makes this Apartment unique
I fell in love with the Tower Grove Neighborhood the instant I saw it, although I didn't realize how large it is. The second largest neighborhood, it is bordered by Arsenal on the North, So. Grand on the east, So. Kingshighway on the west, and Gravois/Chippewa on the south, with over 13,000 residents, yet the park imparts a smaller "village" community setting that draws people to the neighborhood. Some of the finest brickwork is on display in Tower Grove South.

Clean, nice host with character. Public transport convenient.
She was extremely friendly and pleasant to us. She added an extra air bed for my friends to use. Would love to visit again!
More comfortable and cozy than you might expect
I do recommend this accommodation . Although the room is in the basement, it doesn't feel like a basement. It can be a bit chilly , but there are lots of blankets. Unless things change, don't expect much in the way of kitchen type facilities. There is a little fridge and a little microwave and a kettle. The area felt very safe, but I'm not sure how convenient it is for public transportation. We rented a car and parking was a breeze. Laura is a friendly host who responds quickly to emails.
Comfortable lodging in a convenient location
Comfortable lodging in a location that is convenient to Tower Grove Park and restaurants in the area. Laura was very accommodating. Enjoyed my stay.
Thank you, Judy. Happy to host your atay.
Weekend in St Louis
Great value room, super quiet neighborhood. Nothing fancy but meets all the needs. Definitely would stay again if in the area
Nothing about the property listed is accurate
The problem with the property is there is no private bathroom. There is a bathroom but it is wide open with no walls, steps leading to first floor with direct visual of toilet and shower. The "room" which is unfinished and inadequately heated/cooled is in the front of the shared basement space, which is not as the listing suggest. The Landlord of the property requests that there be no noise after 10 pm , which is understandable, yet makes loud noise all hours of the night as well as an infant screaming and crying, and is saw wondering around in the basement while me and my wife were asleep. If we are renting the entire bottom floor then anyone entering said residence without prior notice is indeed breaking and entering/trespassing. We have a copy of her house rules in hand. The only heater in the "room " is on a smart switch and is turned off daily. The room does not get above 65 degrees. The heater is set to only go as high as 72 degrees, but with the open space in the corner which is underground and concrete, the heater is not enough to allow for anything close to comfort. There is no cooking allowed. I have personally spoken to the neighbors and was informed that the renter is known for spying/snooping/unwarranted surveillance on tenants and any personal conversations should be held away from the property. I visually saw landlord/owner in basement ( rented area ) without notice at 3 am lurking around. We left a day early due to a family emergency, this emergency was my wife getting pneumonia due to a lack of adequate heating. The ice on the ground and freezing cold weather outside requires adequate heating. The owner gave us a coffee can for cigarette butts and asked us to smoke near the street, again understandable, yet is now asking for money for supposed smoke removing supplies, because the smell of cigarettes (that were never inside the home) has apparently worked its way through the brick and mortar walls and in to her linen. She is claiming expenses for products to wash the bed sheets and comforter. To rent the property again she would have to wash the linen anyway. I am a daily smoker and so is my wife , yes nasty habit, but 1pack of cigarettes lasted me and my wife the entire week , to say that we were constantly smoking is a grave exaggeration to say the least. The landlord gave us a coffee can to put cigarette butts in so as to not bring them inside. So why after giving us permission to smoke outside does she now ask for more money
These two didnt even pay for the room! A relative did! Left such a mess. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE.
Listing is 4.5 miles from the downtown area of St Louis City, with the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse, and is walkable to the Missouri Botanical Gardens, Tower Grove Park, and the So. Grand Restaurants.
