Highlight of 43 years!!!

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of high school friends that have made a tradition of getting together each year for 43 years. I must say this get together was a highlight. We all have never been to Saugatuck. We thoroughly enjoyed the Starry Night cottage. It was immaculate and lovely. We all were very comfortable. On Friday night we sat on the porch and caught up on each other's lives. We all would love to stay here again!!! Saturday was very warm so we sat in the living area. Just a wonderful stay......

Roomy and well equipped

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I, along with our two adult children, spent five nights at Starry Night cottage. We found that there was room to spare in the generous living areas, while still having the ability to get away in a bedroom or the nice screened-in rear porch if we wanted some privacy.

Virtually everything is provided (except food and shampoo); like paper towels, TP, laundry and dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, towels, bedding, and even a beach chair or two. Our hosts kindly left us a bottle of Michigan white wine.

Bring your Apple TV or Roku along (the TV in the living room has two HDMI ports) if you want to catch Game of Thrones or stream Netflix, since the Comcast fare is basic/limited. The wifi worked without a glitch.

We had a stretch of great/interesting weather and ended up going to Oval beach every day, then back again each night to catch the sunset.

There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, and even though the kitchen was fully equipped, we ate out almost nightly. The barbecue grill worked just fine for the one evening we grilled steaks, and there are plenty of pots and pans in the cupboards if you are so inclined.

Starry Night was the perfect place for our family to spend time in and around Saugatuck.

Owner's Response: Thanks, Rick! Tracey and Tim, This is a quick note regarding the review I posted last night. It got sent before I was quite done editing it. I meant to give you five stars, not four, and have spoken to HomeAway and VRBO this morning to see if it could be edited, which it cannot. My options are leaving it, or taking it down entirely, so I am writing you with that choice. We really liked the place and I hope my written review reflected that. Hope to stay with you again. Rick
