Meridian House is located on a working honey bee farm. We are a non-smoking, no pets, property. The cottage is a beautiful house in itself, setting in the back of the main house. Meridian house can sleep 6 people, with 1 queen bed downstairs, a king and twin beds upstairs. Breakfast will be provided; for any other meals, the near-by town of Crossville offers a wide variety of restaurants. The cottage does have a refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, and other small appliances, but does not have a stove/oven. Guests can have access to a gas grill.
The property does have resident swans, Ms. Peggy and Mr. Tucker, who like to go cruising on any of the three ponds on the 15 acres. These ponds are stocked with fish; fishing poles can be provided or feel free to bring your own.
Owners, Greg and Carolyn, recently bought this dream property in the hills of Tennessee. After a lifetime of living and working in Middle Tennessee (excluding a short stint in the Army and Ohio), both retired and now spend their time doing anything they want. Greg is the main apiarist on the bee farm and loves to spread the gospel of bee keeping. Carolyn is famous for her delicious culinary creations, but you just can't beat her homemade biscuits with some Holt Bee Farm honey (as fresh and local as you can get!).
Carolyn Holt purchased this cottage in 2014
Once they laid eyes on this property, Greg and Carolyn knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives on the farm. The guest house out back allows them share their paradise with you! Everyday offers new beauty and new adventures!
Enjoy fly fishing from the dock or just sit out on the porch and watch the swans. Other wildlife such as deer, cranes, and geese, (and even a lynx!) visit the property. Sit outside and watch lightening bugs and listen to the frogs croak for the most relaxing vacation you've ever had. Perfect for golfing trips, antiquing, romantic getaways, or just a day or two away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Beautiful landscape, from the trees on the low hills to the swans swimming in the ponds. A sight for sore eyes after our first place fell through. The guest home was pristine and airy, with fresh linens and a breakfast you won't soon forget. Yet that does not compare to the warmth and hospitality of the hosts,Carolyn and Gregg. The best stay we have ever had and we've been to many B&Bs. Look no further but be careful you may not want to leave, but you can always come back, we will!
I cannot say enough great things about this place! Pictures dont do it justice. The moment we drove down the long driveway our breath was taken away an we knew we found the perfect place. Not only is the scenery beautiful so is the couple who run it! I have never felt more welcome. My 2 older boys just loved it here an cant wait to go back! From fishing, paddle boats, feeding the fish to chasing frogs they couldn't ask for more. And to top it off breakfast served every morning was amazing! I think this was all our favorite part. Because the cook was GREAT! We are already making plans to come back next year! I cant wait!
When we go to TN, this is where we stay each time. The owners are the nicest folks! And the breakfast...amazing. Ask for the little biscuits with honey produced right on the farm! The cinnamon rolls are to die for! This would be a great romantic getaway or a wonderful setting for exploring the region (which is unbelievably beautiful). Close enough to the 129 yard sale to go, but not be in the middle of traffic and really close to awesome golf courses.
