Furnished mother-in-law apartment in independent bottom level of single family home with private entry and private bath. Convenient location near the interstate, multiple Fortune 500 companies, grocery and restaurants. Minutes to downtown Minneapolis.
I live on-site and can be available to help you with anything you may need. I've also gone to great lengths to ensure that the set-up of the guesthouse is such that visitors and myself need to have no interaction if the guest prefers. Your comfort and privacy are paramount.
The home sits high atop a hill, said to be the highest point in the cities. The dead-end street, surrounded by huge pine trees offers a great feeling of privacy and tranquility, yet the interstate is just around the corner offering convenient travel to anywhere in the metro and northern suburbs. World famous, Heights Bakery, lay in walking distance from the home, as does Central Ave. which hosts some of Minneapolis' most highly regarded dining treasures.
5 minute walk to the closest bus stop on Central Ave., which is a major transit artery. You can get virtually anywhere you need to go with this stop as your starting point. The Fridley Light Rail station is also nearby.
I'm a 30-something professional who works for one of the many Fortune 500 medical device companies here in the Twin Cities. I've been living here for 4-5 years, having moved up from Louisiana in 2012.
Ryan purchased this apartment in 2014
Great owner ;). I'm constantly making improvements to the property, and am always quick to address any issue. The house sits high atop a hill said to be among the highest points in the cities. Though it's about 6 miles from the center of Downtown Minneapolis, one can actually see downtown from the backyard. The house is on a dead end street, surrounded by 100 foot pine trees, and quiet neighbors who respect each others' privacy. The bottom level rental apartment is at ground level, not in a basement as you'll sometimes find on rental sites. You've got huge windows in the living room, and lots of natural light. The apartment is completely separate from my living quarters, so guests and I need only interact when necessary or when it's desired. I wholeheartedly want my guests to feel that they're renting a space truly their own. It's in close proximity to all of the big happenings in Minnesota, and close to many of the Fortune 500s if your stay happens to be for business.
When I bought the property a few years ago, it'd been a one-owner home since being build in 1959. The original owner babied the home, taking exceptional care of it, and I try to follow in that tradition. As of February 2017, the bathroom has been completely remodeled, giving guests a modern space to refresh. The washing machine and dryer are brand new machines, each earning the highest ratings in their class. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd need to prepare meals. There are several groceries and restaurants nearby. It's a nice, quiet place, but is in very convenient proximity to the heart of both Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as proximity to other more northern suburbs where big events are held each year.
We stayed at this location for nearly a month while we waited for our long-term apartment to become available. The apartment was clean and had all necessities. It was an absolute pleasure being a guest here. Ryan was attentive and very responsive yet not overbearing in the least. The neighborhood is quiet and accessible to both metro areas (we used the transit system a few times from here and that was easy as well). We appreciate the opportunity to stay and experience what Minnesota has to offer with a respectful, attentive homeowner. If the need ever arose again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! Thanks!
This space was just what we were looking for-- simple, clean, quiet. I wouldn't call it posh or modern but the decor gives it a down to earth, livable, warm energy. It's also warm enough in the winter and reliable wifi, clearing of snow off driveway. My boyfriend and I would definitely stay there again.
As a host, Ryan respected our space while also letting us know that he'd be there for us to address any issue that came up. (There weren't any issues--no surprises except for pleasant ones, like colossal wild turkeys clucking outside our window one day, and chocolates and miscellaneous groceries in the cupboards that saved us a few bucks on groceries for a few weeks.) Somehow through our brief conversations, I got the impression of our host being an exceptionally decent and trustworthy guy.
To me, staying at a place with a friendly host who really enjoys some intrinstic value out of providing a nice place to stay gives the whole stay a nicer backdrop that beats many a place coldly calculated to look posh for profit.
Ryan has a cozy home and will go out of his way to accommodate your stay.
