We had a lovely stay in these comfortable accommodations and this gorgeous setting!
Great View - Comfortable House!
The home is very roomy, clean, and comfortable. Everything we needed was there. About a 30 minute drive to Liberty University, but we made the drive everyday with little to no traffic, and the drive itself is very pretty. Beds were comfortable and we loved eating breakfast on the porch.
We have AT&T and had no cell service in the house. This made contacting the dog sitter etc. a little challenging. We often stood outside (in the rain) to make phone calls. The fireplace was not working as well. And finally with no ESPN (on TV) or video streaming, allowed, we missed the NBA playoffs.
Overall, we loved our vacation and would stay here again!
I am glad you enjoyed your stay despite the drawbacks you mentioned. Every time we visit the house we try to make improvements based on guest feedback. Thank you for letting me know about the trouble you had with cell service. I'll be looking into a solution for that. Unfortunately, there isn't anything I can do about the streaming. As stated in the description of the house, I have the largest data plan that the satellite company offers. It's just not enough for streaming or gaming. We're hoping cable comes out to the property soon. Thanks for letting me know about the fireplace, it was serviced recently and sounds like it needs it again.
Relaxing and Peaceful
This home was the perfect place for us. We were able to easily explore all the historic sites that we planned to see; Monticello, Appomattox and Poplar Forest. At the end of the day we were lucky enough to return to this home. The views! The setting is tranquil and beautiful. The home itself is also very comfortable and had all items that we needed. It was a short drive to Lynchburg where there is more to explore, including some great restaurants. Oh, and Woodruff's Pie Shop( 6 miles away) was yummy but it was even better to meet the owners! Mary is 100 years old and she tells great stories of her history.
I was a bit worried about how close the house is to the road but I should not have worried. There was very little traffic and when there was you didn't really notice it. This is a fantastic home in a gorgeous setting with great history. We would certainly stay again!
If you want a a clean place to call home base as you explore beautiful country this is the spot. It provided everything you could need to enjoy a get away. This place is located centrally to 3 outdoor locations we wanted to visit and it provided a very clean and comfortable place to come "home" to after a day of adventure. Highly recommended!
My family and I recently attended the wedding of close family friends in Lynchburg. We chose the house based on proximity to the venue. We were so so pleased when we arrived! Clean and fresh - a lovely home with an outstanding view! We also enjoyed the added bonus of a visit to Appomattox Courthouse. If we ever come this way again we will definitely stay here! 😊
Enjoyed our stay
Came to visit son at Liberty and bring cousins for College for a Weekend. House accommodated all of the grownups , and gave us a nice place to congregate in the evenings to play games and just relax. Will definitely stay her again.
