Bedrooms 2
Space 840 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 - 7 nights

About the property

2 bedroom 2 bath cozy lake house with first class finishes and room for 8

Located 12 min. from Polson this little lake house is ideally designed to sleep up to 2 families of 4. Each bedroom has a queen bed and a bunk bed and there is a very large loft in the boathouse for older kids or adults. the master bedroom has a master bath and the second bedroom has a bathroom right next to it's entrance. Each bedroom has lake view windows offering a wonderful breeze and sounds of the lake. We have a washer and dryer and the kitchen is very well equipped. The dining table has an expandable leaf for larger groups but you probably won't use it because you will be on the deck enjoying the awesome view as you grill out. The house is small but more than adequate. It was completely remodeled in spring of 2015 so it is all new inside and out. the deck is enormous, the dock is gigantic and the boat house is just awesome with a commercial sized sauna to cook yourself in before you leap into the lake. there is also a kitchenette so you can entertain all day next to the lake. There are 2 adult kayaks, 2 kids kayaks, multiple snorkel sets and 1 stand up paddle board available at no extra charge, just be sure they are put away safely after each use to keep them from blowing away if the wind picks up. There is parking for your boat at the dock while your present and a mooring buoy for unattended parking and at night. do not attempt to use the dock during rough water, it will result in damage to your boat.

this property is all about the water and having fun with your family. Safety bay is deep and generally very calm hence the name. the perfect setting for enjoying the lake from the dock lounge chairs (not yet pictured). If you choose to Book this property pay by E-check through the VRBO web site to avoid a 3% credit card convenience fee. the credit card convenience fee is deducted from your deposit refund after your stay if you pay by credit card.

About Jeff Pfeil

My Family and I rented on the lake for 5+ Years and were finally lucky enough to purchase our own place. we were always frustrated renting because the houses were ill equipped and had placed little consideration on how the property was going to be used. we remodeled our place taking into consideration how every space would be used especially the lake! lots of small things have been included to make your stay and experience pleasant and not frustrating.

Jeff Pfeil purchased this house in 2014

Why Jeff Pfeil chose Polson

Awesome spot on the lake with exceptional amenities and water toys. close proximity to the beaches of bird island and wildhorse island as well as Polson.

What makes this house unique

Safety Bay is Deep and almost always calm, perfect for kayaking or stand up paddle boarding. (included in the boathouse)

Boathouse sauna offers one of a kind experience when combined with a plunge into the lake!

supply of water toys. I always wished the places we rented included some kayaks. we went above and beyond by getting the kids a set too and threw a SUP in for good measure :)

This property is all about the lake.

Picturesque mountain/lake views surround you while basking in modern comfort

The Lake House at Safety Bay was a most perfect honeymoon location. We swam from the dock, grilled on the deck, awoke to the sound of water hitting the shore, and basked in the sunlight and under the stars. Great vistas were our most desired feature, and the Lake House did not disappoint. We found the cabin to be the perfect size for two, with all the comforts of home and great furnishings to boot: modern appliances and tech, washer and dryer, sauna, nice décor, etc.. The husband also made use of the paddle board and kayak, which was an extremely nice feature. There are friendly neighbors nearby, but just enough space to give you that great outdoors, small in nature kind of feeling. As others have suggested, bring 4wd if you want to park nearer the house.

We didn't want to leave, and hope to come back often! Thank you, Pfeil family! Your home is truly a treat.

Beautiful home, water was incredibly clean and amazing.

  • 5 of 5

Very peaceful area of the lake. House was well appointed and it felt like no corners were cut in the design. Views from every room. Sauna in the boat house to a swim in the lake was perfect. Finding it was a challenge but Jeff was prompt with specific instructions and once we knew where to go, it was easy to navigate the neighborhood.

Relaxing spit on Flathead Lake

  • 4 of 5

Property well located for long walks, water sports and sightseeing. Would recommend a rope bannister from upper parking spaces to house steps, similar to neighbors have from their house to dock.

Beautiful view of the lake!

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful view of the lake! Dock and back deck are great for being in the sun. We had a blast with the kayaks etc. Neighbors waved from their boat.

Bathrooms were functional but second bathroom is small and shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor. Bunk beds were uncomfortable.

Over all very good experience! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be on Flathead lake!

Owner's Response: I am sorry to hear there was some sort of leak in our shower! I wish you would have let me know sooner so I could take care of it. I did tell you that the custom made bunk beds and memory foam mattresses were designed for children and not the weight or size of adults. You insisted that your "Montana gals" and you'd be fine. I reluctantly agreed because you were desperate to find a place for your 10 brides maids. the house is designed for families and I have never had a complaint about the bunk beds, only compliments. In case your still wondering.... They aren't designed for adults!

Beautiful lakefront home, pure relaxation

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house on Flathead lake a full year out in anticipation of my brother's wedding on Finley Point.

My wife, our one year old daughter and I stayed with my parents and couldn't have been more comfortable. There are two bedrooms and separate bathrooms were nicely appointed, both rooms have several windows to keep open and let the fresh air breeze through.

The washer, dryer and ironing board came in handy through our week.

The living area is comfortable with two large leather couches and nice new flat screen tv. We did't actually turn it on during our stay but noticed a dvd player and on a few nights wished that we had brought some movies.

We love to cook and were more than happy with the kitchen, the cookware, utensils and quality German knife block. We used the grill on a few occasions and enjoyed spending time out on the large deck that wraps around the house. There is a great table on the deck too and we enjoyed meals outside everyday. There is a Keurig coffee machine so bring pods.

From the deck there are stairs that lead down to the dock and boathouse. We enjoyed using the paddleboard and kayaks. There are several lounge chairs for catching sun down on the dock and an additional keurig coffee machine and fridge/freezer in the boathouse.

Some of our family staying on another part of the lake came by with their boat and picked us up at the dock which was a nice option for us.

The dry heat sauna was a nice treat, further enhancing the resort-vacation experience.

We brought mountain bikes and enjoyed some local trails, though casual biking is very nice through the networks of roads and neighborhoods around this part of the lake, fat tires or hybrid style bikes would be great. Road cyclists may find themselves walking through some gravel and dirt roads.

We had an excellent week and would highly recommend this lake house.

*An important note: when arriving, the driveway slopes downward and parking is off the driveway about halfway down to the house, leaving a short walk down the rest of a fairly steep gravel driveway to get to the house itself, fairly common among waterfront properties on the lake. Our cars are front wheel drive so we parked in the parking area -though four wheel drives can make it down and back. We agreed that the walk from the parking area to the house may not be suited for seniors or anyone in a wheel chair or generally needing assistance getting around.

Relaxing at Safety Bay

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was very clean and well maintained. Directions to the cabin were easy to follow. Safety Bay is perfectly protected and well suited for kids playing and fishing on the water. The views are great and there's lots of wildlife to enjoy. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to relax and enjoy Flathead Lake.
