This immaculate home was chosen by discerning owners because of its luxury and location. Tucked away at the foot of a coastal village it has peace, uninterrupted ocean views and winter sunsets that are breathtaking. The heated pool has an infinity edge and measures 9 x 4 metres. The house is on two floors and comfortably accommodates 6 adults. Downstairs the lounge & dining room face south with the kitchen, larder, laundry room and shower room behind. The two main rooms have sliding glass doors leading to the pool, terrace and garden. An open staircase leads to 3 bedrooms: the master with large double bed, dressing room, bathroom and private balcony and the second room with twin beds and balcony; both rooms have sea views. There is another double bedroom. A second bathroom and TV/reading room is also on this floor. Satellite TV.
Not suitable for the elderly or children under 10.
Local amenities: For couples and singles alike, this house offers a magical base for relaxing or for exploring perhaps the most beautiful area of Madeira. A car is necessary however the nearest restaurant is only 5 minutes walk uphill and has excellent food. Calheta beach is 8 minutes by car, with a well stocked supermarket, ATM, restaurants, new marina and golden sand imported from Morocco!
Needless to say, this house is awesome! We had a wonderful time in Madeira and a lot of it is because of this place. The infinity pool defnitely added that extra special touch to our honeymoon and we loved the extra arrangements that were made for us.
We highly recommend using the "Madeira Car Tours & Walks" book - this offers a good tour of Madeira for people who don't want to walk too much!
Thanks for this wonderful holiday

We are a family of 4 with 2 grown-up children and this villa was simply perfect - spacious, well-equipped and a great base for touring Madeira.
The booking process was simple, Tony and Judith very responsive to enquiries and with Vanda available to help settle us in we got the holiday off to a great start.
You need a car, but then I would recommend that in any case since the island is definitely worth exploring and the road network is excellent.
I'm not sure I can add much more than is well articulated in other posts and accurately describe the luxury of this villa. I would add that over the last ten or so years we have enjoyed this type of holiday many times - private villas in Corfu, Algarve, Lanzarote etc. and we have not had a single bad experience. But this was the best yet, so if you are considering booking this villa then just do it!
Spacious, bright and airy rooms with uninterrupted views out to sea from all the principal rooms and outside sitting and dining areas. Lovely. Also, a good sized heated infinity pool shares the same lovely outlook over the sea. Couldn't be better if you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday. A car is fairly essential as even the village centre with its shop and bar is quite a little uphill walk away. But then, you will probably want a car anyway to explore the island or visit Funchal 30 minutes drive away. I would hope to stay here again if returning to Madeira.
This was only our 2nd time in Madeira - we were there in 1979 and stayed at the Casino Park when it was almost new! We much prefer self-catering and we were delighted with our choice of Caso do Mar. It is all it says on the tin and much more - what a surprising place! There were only 2 of us so we rattled about as we like to do, and it would be just as comfortable for 6 x guests. A well kitted out and equally well run property. Booking was easy with Tony and Judith and getting into the property on arrival with Vanda on hand was a breeze. All in all, a first class week's holiday. Thanks to you all. We hope to come again in the future. Ann and David Wallwork, UK.
This was our 4th in CASA DO MAR. We enjoyed the nature, the flowers and the spectacular view from the terrace. The weather was fine, especially on the north side of the Island and in the mountain region (unusual for Madeira). The service of Wanda, David and Jose was perfect. Many thanks! Only after a rain the pool heater did not work. I think it is repaired in the meantime. Nevertheless, CASA DO MAR is the best spot for a Relaxing Holiday.
We stayed at this villa 7 years ago,and found the villa and the views to be stunning. We decided it was time to pay Casa Do Mar another visit,we found the villa to be a little tired,in need of a bit of TLC,most of the crockery is chipped, the wall in the dining room is damp with mould growing on it,the laundry room was quite dirty, plug socket hanging out of the wall, there must have been a leak as the wall was in a bad state of damp, and the ceiling and wall in the downstairs shower room were so bad the plasters falling off and mould growing, silly things like no plug in the kitchen sink,we bought one along with a washing up bowl, would we stay there again most definitely if it is given a good clean up
The first impression of the villa was very positive. Vanda showed us how to work everything and where everything was. Once we had settled in and unpacked, we went to the supermarket (not far, but you need a car) to provision ourselves for the stay. Then it was relaxation for the next 3 days, allowing for the 2 days of torrential rain. Although the villa and the area are not big on nightlife, we had what we wanted, which was peace and quiet. A nice brisk uphill walk each morning for coffee at Paulinos, and a leisurely stroll back down again for lunch. The situation of the villa, and the uninterrupted view of the sea are indeed spectacular. (Take your binoculars to boat watch and view the buzzards, dolphins and other wildlife which you can see from the patio.) We felt secure behind the electric gates.
Rather than try to find our way round on our first trip to Madeira, we went on Jeep Safaris, which were superb (though not for the faint hearted!). We will definitely be back.
