Lovely property and stay! They property was out of the way and off the beaten path, in a great way! Once we arrived at our destination we saw that the beach and fishing amenities were not going to disappoint. We were at the beach every day with the kids and two dogs, both enjoyed playing in the shallow surf. Saw four people total during our four night trip, so the beach was practically ours the whole time! Each night we made smores by the fire pit and watched the sun set on the beach. We used both the house and the cottage during our stay. The cottage was a bit dingy but the bed and bath, to include linins, were clean and comfy. The house was cool and clean. Again, linin and bed comfy. It's definitely more of a camping environment and feel. The property came with way more than what we thought to include towels and dog bowls. Long story short we will be back!
First, let me say that this home is absolutely beautiful and perfect for family time. We went for a vacation with my girls and their grandparents as it was a nice midway point for us all to travel. The house was perfectly set up and the cottage was a perfect get away for my husband and I to have some alone time. On the Saturday we hosted a cook out for family and we all had plenty of room to hang out. The kids crabbed and fished with the help of an uncle and were amazed with their catch.
Now for the con... I hate to give one because the property is so great, but if you plan to swim do not go here. My kids are avid water bugs and the water was FULL of jellyfish. My youngest got stung the first day there and vowed not to reenter the water. I was a little dismayed to learn from homeowner after our arrival that the jellies come in July and stay until September. This is something that should be made clear when booking.
In the end we had to leave early and book a hotel in Ocean City so the girls could get their swim time in. On a positive note we were given a small reimbursement.
Loved the overall warmth and feeling of this cozy home. We had a nice relaxing weekend kayaking and otherwise putting our feet up! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for something quiet and laid back. The house is very well stocked and even has a nice little garden that you can pick veggies from should you happen to stay there at a time of year when things are ripe :) We were lucky enough to be able to pluck a few cherry tomatoes for ourselves which was such a treat!
Our stay could not have been ANY better! From the moment we arrived and viewed this beautiful home, offering all amenities imaginable for every need possible and more. The view is breathtaking, as this home offers TWO bodies of water to play in! We fished all over, we swam in the ocean, we played on the beach, swung on the tree swing, BBQd our dinners, went kayaking with the kids, and so enjoyed the fire pit and beautiful furniture offered to enjoy at the fire gatherings. I will MOST CERTAINLY attempt to return this this FLAWLESS home/location for vacation. Even the bedroom was impressive! I will never forget this place as it exceeded every expectation imaginable. It even had a separate cottage for my mommy to enjoy her privacy. Just so cool!
Very grateful. Thank you for the memories of what you offered!
Our stay in this Bay front house was so special as we took our elderly Mom....we have stayed in several of the Scotland Yards rentals and are never disappointed. ..the owner is so prompt in replying to questions, the property managers always available to help...there was no coffee maker when we arrived but he had one there in a short time after we called.
Everything you need is there to cook a wonderful meal with great seating and first class appliances, cookware, dishes, utensils. Plush towels, comfortable beds and linens....
To us The big bonus were the Kayaks and bikes.... That, and being beach front brings us back again and again.....did I mention the peace and quiet? Not a place for those who need constantly to be entertained. We did puzzles, played games, talked, and just plain enjoyed the company of our friends...never left the place for five days...
We were aware of the distance to grocers so we we planned well ahead to be sure we had what was needed....this was no problem for us...we love to cook .
While Scotland may not be the area for everyone , if you want solitude, to watch Eagles, to relax and fall asleep to the sound of the bay ......you will fall in love with this area just as we have....
