Our daughter and her family live in Cincinnati. We have enjoyed visiting and getting to the know the Queen City. Hyde Park Square is our favorite neighborhood. We enjoy taking family walks to the farmer’s market, Ault Park and dining outdoors in the square.
Robin Shoemaker purchased this house in 2015
Hyde Park square has a wonderful walking area full of shops, gardens, and restaurants. It has a wonderful farmer’s market on Sundays in the summer. It is a short walk to the hiking trails and playgrounds of Ault Park. It is close to Rookwood Commons, Eden Park, Downtown, Oakley and Mount Adams. In the square, try the black raspberry chip ice cream at Graeter's. By the river, enjoy a concert at Riverfront. Downtown enjoy a Reds or Bengals game, the Underground Freedom Museum, the Aronoff Theater and Music Hall. Union Terminal, which includes a children's museum, is a short drive away.
Cute house full of charm and character in a nice neighborhood. New stainless refrigerator and dishwasher and a gas stove. The three bedrooms upstairs have hardwood floors ceiling fans, and new wonderful mattresses. Washer and dryer in basement with laundry tub. Parking in the driveway or on the street.
This is a nice property in a good location. It is in good condition-good beds, sheets, towels etc. There are only two real downsides:there is no on-site parking unless you are driving an original Mini, which means that you do need to look for parking and that may not be real close.Second, there is a LOT of road noise but over several days you do start to block it out.
This was a beautiful house and a great neighborhood to stay in. We really loved having our family all together and in this cozy house. It was clean and perfect for us, and we were right down the street from everything.
Our family of five decided to try VRBO vs a hotel for a long weekend in Cincinnati to attend a wedding. We absolutely loved the home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home is indeed a charmer! The location is easy to get to from the interstate/highway and felt very safe. Hyde Park Square a block to the left and much more shopping a few walking blocks to the right. The neighborhood is awesome and the accommodations were quite comfortable. We hope to be back in the near future and will definitely try to get this home again!
Robin's house is so comfortable, and accessible to everything!! The wedding was in Oakley, reception at the Gibson House, but in between we walked to the Square and around the delightful neighborhood. Beds and bedding were extremely comfortable, nice to have two full baths! The house and yard were immaculately clean, well-maintained, and well-appointed. Would definitely book again if/when the opportunity should arise!!!
We found the VRBO description and positive reviews from guests to be on-target for this house. It is an older home, not lavishly furnished but certainly very nice for our stay of 3 days or a longer one. The house was clean, easy to find, close to I-71 and convenient to everywhere we went during our stay, including the children's museum, a great playground at Lunken Playfield called "Land of Make Believe" (best playground ever!), and the Newport Aquarium. It is also easy to get to downtown stadiums. Food is within walking distance. We ate pizza one night at LaRossa's, very good and family oriented, and had an adult dinner another night at Alfio's Buon Cibo, excellent and delicious, both nearby, as were several other restaurants and shops. Although this home is on a busy street, we had no trouble sleeping and did not find it noisy at night - and we were there during Riverfest! For our family, it was great to have a large toddler bed in one of the bedrooms. We did cook meals and had no difficulty finding what we needed. There is a large and very nice Kroger not far away, so again, very convenient to all our needs. The owner is quick with communications and very pleasant. We would definitely stay here again. Oh - for Big 10 fans during football season, this house does get the Big Ten Channel in HD, which is hard to find in hotels in the area! Thanks to the owners for a nice place for the six of us to stay for our long weekend and for offering a clean and welcoming home away from home.
Mr Robert I really had a wonderful time at your place of stay. The home was very nice and clean inside and out. The bedding smelled fresh and clean. It was so comfortable there. It also had up to date appliances, washer and dryer ca me in handy. It felt like home away from home. Looking forward to renting again next year. So I gave it a 6 star.
