Golf view cottage

Absolutely Fabulous! Fell in love with this cottage and its location as soon as we got there. Even more impressed as the days went by. Beautiful themed decor, really sea sidey and nautical. Equipped with everything needed, even new toothbrushes in case u forgot yours, toiletries even doggy bowls and lead, an umbrella, and masses of CDs and books. The kitchen was well equipped with all sorts of condiments and oil. The welcome basket a lovely bonus. We will definitely go there again, but get booked quickly becaus there is not a lot vacancies right up til October!! The Ferry Boat Inn right opposite does fabulous breakfasts and meals.

Very highly recommend.

Fantastic time in Felixstowe!

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely brilliant long weekend in Felixstowe, even though the weather didn't quite behave as it should for June. On arrival there was a lovely welcome basket with bread, doughnuts, wine and chocolates, and plenty of leaflets about the surrounding area and attractions.

We would also recommend Snakes & Ladders soft play and science centre in Ipswich for a rainy day for younger children. I passed away a lovely 4 hours there reading the free magazines whilst the children wore themselves out.

We bought crab lines and squid at Tackle Up in Felixstowe town centre, only to return to the cottage to find some crab lines, a bucket and a net already there. We crabbed off the jetty which the kids absolutely adored - we even caught a hermit crab! The food in the Ferry Inn was great, and we picked up some essentials at the Spar (about 2 miles away, so a car is preferable). The shingle beach was just a minutes walk behind the house and was deserted the entire time. On the Monday the sun finally came out and we spent the morning on the beach at Felixstowe, opting for a fish and chip lunch from Regal - well worth a visit. There was not a soul to be seen and it was just so low-key and relaxed.

One very very minor bugbear was the toaster in the cottage. The slots were so tiny, that only processed bread or the small sliced loaves from the bakers would fit. When I tried to cut up the more rustic loaf from the welcome basket, it got stuck in the toaster, despite my best thin-slicing efforts. A wider slotted toasted would have made our trip perfect!

All in all, a perfect and very relaxing weekend, and we wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend. Thank you Mandy! x

Owner's Response: Thank you Bianca Im very pleased that you all enjoyed your stay, and thank you for pointing out the problem with the toaster as I have never used it I didn't realise , it will be replaced with one with wider slats. ASAP. Its a shame the weather wasn't better for you but it seems like the children had fun regardless. Thank you for booking Golf View Best regards.Mandy

Cozy home from home in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to the area and we loved it. "Golf View" was so warm and cozy for our New Year break and had everything we could have needed, plus a lot of extras, and the cakes, chocolates and bottle of bubbly to help bring in the New Year that Mandy left for us were a lovely touch. The cottage is clean and comfortable with lots of extra homely touches and a good selection of books and DVDs. Lovely views from the front and the sea, river and walks are just a few steps away. There is a popular pub and a cafe very close by too. We really liked Felixstowe town as well, it is full of character and has a good selection of shops, restaurants and cafes.
