Dingle Peninsula: Beautiful house 'An Máimín' Ballyferriter, Dingle

Nestled in the picturesque village of Baile an Fheirtearaigh / Ballyferriter in the Dingle Peninsula, this beautiful house boasts three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a tv room and a large kitchen / dining area. With spectacular views of the three sisters to the front, and the Croaghmarhin mountain at the back, it is only a minutes' stroll to the village.

AUGUST Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. The latest film set attraction to Ballyferriter / Ceann Sibéal is Star Wars, which was filmed during May / June 2016.

Lonnaithe i sráidbhaile Baile an Fheirtéaraigh i leithinis Chorca Dhuibhne, teach álainn le 3 seomraí leapa, trí seomraí folctha, seomra teilifíse agus a cistine/seomra bidh. Radharc álainn amach ar na trí deirfiúracha chun tosaigh, agus ar chúl Cruach Marthain.

Ideal for families as you are spoilt for choice with miles of sandy beaches on your doorstep – Beal Ban, Clogher, Coumeenole and Wine Strand to name but a few. Golf enthusiasts won't be disappointed either, as the renowned Dingle golf links (Ceann Sibéal) is only a 5 minute drive away. Breathtaking views guaranteed on this course! The area is a haven walkers, cyclists, runners and anyone fond of the outdoors.

Baile an Fheirtearaigh is on the Slea Head drive and is only 10 minutes from Dunquin (Dún Chaoin) pier where you can take a boat to the Great Blasket Island. Your closest town is Dingle, famed for many things, including the Dingle Dolphin 'Fungie' and a boat trip from Dingle pier to see him up close is a must!

Fancy speaking a 'cupla focal' – a few words in Irish - then you have come to the right place. Baile an Fheirtearaigh (Ballyferriter) is in the heart of the Gaeltacht or Irish speaking area. It is rich in culture, traditions, language and music.

After a long day of activities, a short walk (1 minute from the house) will take you to the four pubs in the village where food is available and lively traditional music most nights during the summer period.

A place of immense beauty and tranquility and a house with all the modern comforts needed to make your stay a pleasure. What more could you ask for!

Escape to the West....!
After waiting so long to get over to Ballyferriter due lockdown. We were thrilled to be able to finally get there. We love the West of Ireland and it was a real treat and privilege to be able to be there. The lovely Sharon met us at the Cottage and filled us in with all the main details and then we started our holiday. It was great to have the shop just a short distance down the road from us. It has a great selection of goods and essentials. It was even better to have the three pubs and hotel such a short distance away in the Village, which we really enjoyed. Having an evening in each and a few statuary Guinness, it would have been rude not too! There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the Village, just what we needed after the anxiety of lockdown. We were made to feel very welcome in all the pubs and hotel. We enjoyed some great evenings and lovely food. We visited The Blasket Islands which was a wonderful experience allied with a very informative talk on Great Blasket about life in the Islands. On our journey back we were thrilled to see Common Dolphins, Seals, Minky and Humpback Whale. There are good walking opportunities in the area too. I walked The Three Sisters and there is a lovely walk on the beach along the beach at Smerwick Harbour. We also hired electric bicycles from Dingle Bikes for two days, again a great way to see the peninsula in a more manageable fashion. We also booked a taxi and had an evening in Dingle. I forgot to mention that we were blessed with lovely weather too, which always helps. What was really good too was that when we returned to the Cottage in the evenings, how comfortable it was, the bedrooms and kitchen and cooking facilities were spot on. So overall I'd would say this break was just what we needed and in a beautiful part of the World, in lovely accommodation, who could ask for more. Thank you again Sharon and Micheal from John, Michael and Michael.

Paradise Ballyferriter Style
A stunning house in the equally stunning location of Ballyferriter, short walk of a couple on minutes and your in the town, local shop that sells everything, 3 pubs 1 restaurant and a museum which also has a café. The house has everything you could possibly need ( even wi-fi ) a very well equipped kitchen and 4 large bathrooms, plenty of private parking all exactly as described by the owner, Micheal, Communications with Micheal and Maura and Sharon who met us on arrival was again brilliant. The area itself is breath taking , short drives of 10 minutes and the bays/coves with spectacular views have to been seen to be believed. We had a brilliant week and was very sorry to leave, already planning a return to the area and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you Micheal, Maura and Sharon for making everything perfect and allowing us the use of your wonderful home. Regards Vin and Gill

Great base to explore the Dingle peninsula
Very comfortable and cosy cottage - ideal if you are looking to relax. The position in Ballyferriter offers all you need: lovely views and walks, a shop and a few pubs within walking distance and Dingle not too far away. We had a great time and Micheal's family contributed by going out of their way to help.

Good location and very warm welcome.
This was a good base to explore Dingle and West Kerry. The house was immaculate, well laid out and spacious for 4 adults and 2 toddlers ( fenced in area a bonus for smallies) Good showers and a warm house. Owner and his family were very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Small suggestion for perfection...blackout blinds for all bedrooms. Would definitely recommend to others. Thanks Michael and team.
