Enjoy La Jolla and the San Diego area from a lovely residential neighborhood, just four blocks from the golden sand of Windansea Beach. BRAND NEW,TOP-OF-LINE, POWERFUL CENTRAL AIRCONDITIONING IS BEING INSTALLED BY JUNE 1,2016(even though really not needed as so close to the beach that the residence enjoys the cool ocean breezes) !

The residence is located on the second floor of a duplex (upper and lower). All appliances and designer furnishings in this sophisticated contemporary are new. There is sleeping for six – the Master bedroom has a King bed, the guest bedroom has two double beds and there are also two single sleeper sofas in the large living room; all mattresses on beds are Plushtops. The granite countertop kitchen is fully equipped and has stainless steel appliances including a gas range. The dining room has a dining table for six and counter seating at the bar. The living room comes with a wood -burning fireplace. Free Direct TV and Wifi Internet come with the rental. The residence has a washer and dryer (brand new).

The retreat also has a large and secured back yard/patio with table/chairs a double chaise lounge and BBQ. The house also has a private outdoor retreat in front with canvas curtains, outdoor eating area, and lighting.

The house is in a great location for enjoying the amenities of La Jolla and the San Diego area. La Jolla is a friendly town for walking. It is just four blocks to the Beach and La Jolla Village businesses, dining, shopping and other activities are within ½ mile of the retreat – town center, museums, restaurants, shops and businesses. A delightful Sunday Farmers Market is a source of fresh produce and unique crafts. The Coggan Aquatic Center with Olympic-size pool and sports complex offering tennis courts, track, baseball fields and basketball courts is located just two blocks east of the home.

As an alternative to strolling thru La Jolla, the main public bus line stops within a block of the house and provides transportation throughout La Jolla and south to Pacific Beach, Mission Bay and other San Diego destinations. Beach bikes are also readily available for rental. The retreat has off-street covered parking for one car as well as on street parking and a public lot just a short block away.

Excellent stay

We thought the location of the property was excellent. We were able to access the beautiful beach at the end of Fernglen. We also were able to walk to town many many times. La Jolla was beautiful again.

We thought that the kitchen Was stocked beautifully. There was nothing that we needed or wanted. We really appreciated having the spices available as soon as we got there.

The entry system is very convenient. The air conditioning and fan work beautiful people are beautifully. The patio in the back of the home with the lounge chairs and a table and barbecue were in great shape and were very useful.

We will recommend this property highly to anyone that asks. We definitely will return next year.

Well located comfortable second floor apartment

This apartment is nicely furnished, clean, bright and in a good location far enough away from the main La Jolla center to minimize noise, but close enough to walk to all shops, the beach and restaurants. The neighborhood was very quiet. Because our stay was for two months, a couple of "homeowner" issues popped up, but the owner responded very quickly and addressed them. We had a nice ocean view and enjoyed many sunsets.

Very well furnished (2nd floor) duplex, but....

WiFi was terrible. We informed the owner twice. The router seems to be located in the rental on the ground floor. It was reset twice, but without success. We had to use (for only 2 devices) an open (unsecured) Apple network from a nearby residence that we could open without password. On the last day of our stay the owner informed us that WiFi was upgraded from 20 to 100 mb, but still we were disconnected many times. The backyard is not private and has to be shared with people who rent the ground floor of this duplex. An outdoor retreat in front? Sorry, we have not seen it. There is a yard with artificial grass in front of the duplex without furniture, only underneath the stairs and right in front of the ground floor unit are 2 chairs and a table with a direct view of the staircase. The nearest beach is rocky, only at low tide there is some sandy beach. But if you look for a really very nice and comfy house not too far from San Diego (like we did) and you don't need secured WiFi, this 2nd floor of the duplex is absolutely recommendable.

Great condo near beach

Our family of five stayed here in mid August for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the condo. It was two blocks to the beach and walking distance to local restaurants, including an amazing weekend farmers market. The condo was immaculate and air-conditioned, it was unusually warm the week we stayed. We used the barbecue and enjoyed having the large shaded space for relaxing. La Jolla is spectacular, much nicer than the coast near LA, we are hoping to go back in the future. My only constructive suggestion would be to have more plates and bowls of varying sizes, we used most of them at breakfast and then had to run a half empty dishwasher, not very eco friendly.

I was very pleased with all aspects of the house. The owner was very reachable, addressed a few minor issues very fast. For sure, I'll go back. I highly recommend this house for vacationers. House is clean, close to the beach, quite in a very safe neighbourhood.

Perfect Getaway
