Slice of Paradise

Fabulous home in the Lower Keys ! Great views from inside and outside the house. The screened in deck was my favorite spot for relaxing and enjoying the sights. The home is spacious, nicely decorated and the kitchen well provisioned.

Nice neighborhood located close to many good restaurants, bars and water sports.Nice trails close by for hiking and bike riding.

I can't say enough good things about the owners. They genuinely care about your experience while staying at their property.Rod provided good information prior to our journey and checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory and to offer tips for our stay.

Counting the days until our return !

Fantastic property with amenities and one of the best sunset views on Cudjoe Bay.

  • 5 of 5

I've been staying in the Keys for 30 years. Rented this property. Loved it! The owner is easy to contact and makes sure you have a great time. Home is better furnished than many/most mid-upper scale rentals. It's at the end of the canal facing Cudjoe Bay - for sunrise, the sun comes up behind the house and you can see into all the reef/rock water in the Bay; for sunsets, you can sit on the screen-enclosed deck with the three overhead fans turning and thoroughly enjoy God's gift of creation.

House comes with two single person kayaks and four bicycles in the downstaris storage room. Two outside hoses make boat clean up and fish cleaning easy. Also, the downstairs outside shower is delightful. The home does not have a pool but we have one at our home - so we're not looking to swim in a pool in the Keys; snorkeling on the reefs - by all means Yes. The home does have a outside hot tub on the patio. This would be fantastic in the "cooler" Winter months.

Home amenities are excellent - fully stocked kitchen - silverware, plates, glasses, coffee mugs and nice coffee maker. You don't have to bring any utensils. Nice big refrigerator. There is a freezer on the patio that you can use to store things. The owner lets you store frozen bait in the freezer - he includes a large tupperware container in which to put frozen bait. We kept large bags of ice to freeze and refreeze after a day on the boat in the cooler. Froze our fish fillets and 70(+) lobster tails.

We put our 20' foot boat in the canal - nice easy channel out. Launch at Cudjoe Gardens. 20-25 minutes to the reef if the waves are 1-2' or less. Perhaps a little more time with bigger waves and depending on the size of your boat.

The canal has some resident mangrove snapper (hard to catch but possible), schools of parrot fish, four-eyed and Spanish butterfly fish. Bridge fishing at the Bow channel or Kemp channel bridges is 5 minutes away for those wanting to avoid seasickness.

Cooked all our own fish so didn't eat out much.

Cudjoe Sales is the best place to go for any fishing gear - 5 minutes away on US 1.

Can buy bait at the Cudjoe Gardens Marina 8a-6p or the SugarLoaf KOA marina (opens at 7a).

Found a whole bunch of conch shells without live animals - brought some home and left a few around the plants/palms. Absolutely lovely home.

We will seriously consider renting this house again in the future.

Couldn't have been happier!

  • 5 of 5

Stop looking, you've found the best you're going to get! I recently rented this home for 2 months. I wanted to have the summer of a lifetime with my family. Well, if swimming with dolphins right outside the back of the house, catching fresh lobsters in the bay, having your boat 10 feet away on your own private dock, watching SPECTACULAR sunsets on your screened in back porch, world class fishing and Key West just minutes away isn't your thing, you'll hate this place! Seriously though, everything was perfect. The house was very nicely appointed with everything you could possibly need including a fully equipped kitchen and 3 very comfortable beds. The location couldn't have been any better if you tried. The corner lot provides all the privacy you need and really makes you feel like you're in your own little world. After being there for 2 months I never wanted to leave. From the people at Cudjoe Gardens Marina, The Square Grouper (impossible to have a meal less than spectacular). Cassey's Grill, No Name Pub, Looe Key Tiki......I could go on forever, but you get the point, Cudjoe Key is the best! Needless to say, we'll be back very soon and won't hesitate to rent this house again. Connie and Rod, thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay at your wonderful little slice of paradise and you'll be seeing us again.....SOON!

We Wish This Was Our House !

  • 5 of 5

We just want to say Thank You to the owners for providing such a beautiful vacation rental. We've been staying in the Low Keys for seven years now, and have always stayed on a different key. Cudjoe by far is our favorite key with it's close proximity to all of our favorite things, yet being peaceful and quiet. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a pelican who stayed with us for a few days ... we enjoyed the company! We found the house to be very spacious and comfortable. Kayaks are perfect for paddling the shallow waters of the bay , and the bicycles are great for cruising around the neighborhood. The house is neat, clean and modern inside and out, and very well cared for. The sunsets at Keys Life are the main attraction. Dinner and drinks every night watching the sun go down while a neighbor blows a traditional conch shell salute to say goodbye to the sun, just perfect ! We spent our mornings and evenings just looking out at Sacarma Bay from the deck watching the boats , birds and fish. The area boasts several very good restaurants as well as excellent fish markets if you prefer to cook at home. BPK is only minutes away for shopping, but you can find everything you need on Summerland Key. KW is less than a 1/2 hour, Bahia Honda SP is 20 minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay at Keys Life and are booking again for next year!

What a great choice we made.

  • 5 of 5

After spending the last twenty-four winters in the Phoenix area, we decided to try some time in the Florida Keys. "Keys Life" on Cudjoe Key was the perfect choice. Located on a quiet point, it couldn't have been more a more relaxing experience. The sunsets from the hot tub on the screened in patio were absolutely spectacular. We not only enjoyed the bicycles that are provided, but the kayaks were a blast. The home is very nicely furnished and the kitchen very user friendly. Frankly there are so many nice eating places close by that the kitchen may not get much use. A huge satellite TV with DVR and nice sound system will allow you to stay in and relax on the recliners after the sunset. The owners are very easy to talk to. Any issues were dealt with immediately. We enjoyed our stay very much and we can't wait to get back again next year. You will find this a great choice.

Laid Back and Peacefull

  • 5 of 5

I've been visiting the keys for the past 30 years or so. I've stayed from Key Largo to Key West. Each area has its good and bad points but I really think the area between Big Pine and Cudjoe Key are the best.

"Keys Life" is one of the top five in this area I have stayed.

Very clean, quite, great views, and very laid back. Just what you need to get away from your normal everyday life.

Should the need arise you are only a short drive to Key West.

The location of the property being right on the water provides you with magnificent views.

It's great to get up and have breakfast on the screened in porch overlooking the bay then just hang out in the hot tub, drive to Key West or Big Pine and find a few "Key Deer". A short drive to Geiger Key Marina for lunch / dinner, lay on the beach or watch the Navy Jets do touch and goes is tasty, relaxing and exciting.

The house is very well equipped with everything you need from comfortable beds to well equipped kitchen.

Great place, great location and will leave you longing to return.
