3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bathroom Home Close to Cannery Row and Monterey Bay Aquarium

Spacious 2,100 square feet of living space in a lovely, historic home that is just a short 8-minute walk to the aquarium and an even shorter 6-minute walk to cannery row. This rental includes the entire main floor of the house (2,100 square feet) and sleeps 11-12, consisting of three (3) queen beds, one (1) queen sofa bed, and three (3) twin beds. There’s 2 ½ baths (one with a tiled shower and one with a victorian claw-foot bathtub). Each of the three (3) queen beds has a separate room. The main floor is completely separated from the top floor and bottom floor and has a separate entrance. The bathrooms include fresh towels, shampoo/conditioner and soap. The main bathroom has a hair dryer.

There is a full kitchen (stocked with basic supplies including spices, grains, pasta etc.) and a coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, and blender. The kitchen also has a deluxe knife set, place settings for 12 with flatware, glasses, coffee mugs, wine glasses, serving bowls and plates, colander, salad spinner, and pots and pans.

The house is stocked with all the essentials to make your visit a “home away from home” experience: new washer and dryer, outdoor barbecue grill with a full tank of propane, wireless internet and cable tv, ironing board and iron, and four free aquarium passes. (If you do not leave the passes to the designated place after use, a replacement fee charge per pass will apply.) There’s plenty to do around Monterey, but if you want to hang out at the house, we have a nice variety of board games, including monopoly, risk, checkers, backgammon, chess, game of life, jenga, clue, and sorry. If you need it, there's a Combi stroller and portable crib/playpen.

Guest access

the space is accessed by a large, welcoming front porch with an ocean view. This porch is equipped with patio furniture and a wonderful place to dine or just sit and relax. There is a back entrance off the kitchen leading to the back yard.

There’s ample street parking and the unit comes with 2 street parking permits so you won’t have to worry about moving your car(s).

Other things to note

we welcome families with small (and large) children but please note:

this space is not child proofed. It is an older home with steps and a lovely pond in the front yard, so the safety and security of your children while staying here is your responsibility. We will not be responsible for injuries or mishaps caused by inattentive parenting. No pets please.

I am a graphic designer and bookseller, and have lived in this house for 12 years and love it very much. I am a 30+ year (native?) of the Monterey Peninsula so I know quite a bit about the place if you need any hospitality advice or info.

I live here at the property in the ground floor apartment and work here in the neighborhood so I am always close by if you need me, but will be respectful of your privacy while you're here.

We believe that one of the charms of visiting this house is that it is not managed by a large, impersonal real estate or management company. We look for long-term renters (30 days or more).

Why Jeffrey chose Monterey

Here is a breakdown of the sleeping arrangements and amenities for the property:

The main floor of this house is 2,100 square feet and is set up to sleep 11: queen bed #1 (2 people), queen bed #2 (2 people) queen bed #3 (2 people), sofa sleeper-queen size #1 (2 people), and 3 separate twin beds (3 people).

There is a front bedroom which contains a queen bed with a 13" tempurpedic mattress, and there is a large living room area which also contains another sofa queen hide-a-bed and sofa in the large gathering area.

There is a separate master bedroom with one queen bed, connected to a master bathroom with shower.

There is a back set of bedrooms, one with a queen and one with 2 twins. There is a thick sliding door which separates these 2 rooms. Good for a couple with kids. These bedrooms connect to another full bath with victorian clawfoot tub/shower..

There is one more twin bed in a room off the kitchen. It would probably be best suited for a young adult or child. There is a 1/2 bath adjacent to that room. It doesn't have the privacy of the larger bedrooms, but could be a fun sleeping area for a young person.

This is a historic Monterey home, equipped with a new dishwasher, washer dryer, internet, cable and the small amenities which we hope will make you comfortable.

Great experience!

This house was very comfortable and large enough for privacy with a large family. Very traditional Monterey feel. The location was super convenient. The owner was pleasant and very accommodating with supplies, extra snacks and the aquarium tickets saved us a bundle. Definitely a winner.

Great old house with a lot of History. Couldn't ask for a better location to Cannery Row and the Aq

Beds comfortable,. Sufficient kitchen suppliies.,For a group of 8 people the hot water was not sufficient. The dining room table was crowded for 8 people. The main living room very comfortable and cozy to sit around and visit. The view was wonderful

Owner's Response: Yes we discovered a slight problem and it is being fixed today. We’ve had many prior groups here with no problem getting hot showers for all 11 guests. Something about the one line to the main shower was clogged. The hot water is once again sufficient and this was the first group, of close to 200, that had a hot water complaint.

Amazing house where they treated us so nice!

Wow! What a house, old with lots of beds and great common areas. Jeffrey was kind and we had lots of supplies for our cooking and a some awesome snacks. I would stay there again for a large group. Just amazing: 10/10.

Great location and Host!

This is a 110 old home - in historic Pacific Grove! We had 8 ladies - Jeff, our host, had the house supplied with fruit, refreshment and sweets and met us to show us certain aspects about the house - a very nice surprise! Being 8 ladies - the bathroom and closet situation was a little challenging - but for a family or a couple of couples it would be fine! The location is within walking distance to the Monterey Aquarium, cannery row and has a view of the ocean!

FANTASTIC

My family and I couldn’t be happier with this Home. Excellent location, views and accommodations. Jeffrey met us upon arrival for a brief tour of his cozy home. He supplied us with fresh fruit, cookies and ice cream. Coffee w/ creamer and eggs in the morning and the most gorgeous view of the ocean. We had a great time with our grandkids at the aquarium (thanks to Jeffry’s free passes) would I recommend this Home to those that are reading this review? YES!!!!! Don’t hesitate. Home is clean, and very comfortable.
