About Brenda Glasgow

We are Tim & Brenda Glasgow. We have lived in the area for most of our lives. We own and operate the local Heating & Air Company, Mountain Air Inc., we have been in business since 1995. We have several rental properties and have just this summer started our vacation rental properties. Please give us a try and help us build a wonderful story with Lakeside Haven

Brenda Glasgow purchased this house in 2015

Why Brenda Glasgow chose Tennessee

This property is very secluded, it is hidden and shaded by many beautiful trees. You can sit on the deck enjoy the view while you eat your breakfast every morning and in the evening sit in the hot tub naked as a Jay-Bird if that is your wish no one will see you!

What makes this house unique

I love this property because it so well hidden from the view of neighbors as well as the lake traffic. You can sit out on the deck in the hot tub and enjoy the peaceful wooded privacy and a view of the beautiful Watauga Lake or jump in the Tandem ( built for 2) Kayak or tone of the two single Kayaks or 1 youth kayak and paddle of into the sunset. Its up to you!

A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN.

  • 5 of 5

My title says it all. Really just amazing perfection. Views are spectacular any way you look it is a vision that as a girl from the big city I only dream of. So peaceful, quiet and secluded. We got a bottle of wine (and I hate wine) from the local winery and it was call Crackers Neck Red. OMG so good to sit on the lower deck with a glass... I fell asleep. Where can you fall asleep outdoors? No where that I have ever been that is for sure. The little cottage is SUPER clean. The linens and towels are fresh and new looking with I am sure a quite high thread count. The bed was so comfy. The hot tub at night next to the water oh my goodness..... Like I said: A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN

The view in autumn is delightful

  • 5 of 5

We looked forward to returning since we stayed in June. This time we couldn't jump in the water, but we were able to kayak around for as long as we liked. It was wonderful. The view from the porch was perfect and my favorite part was brewing a cup of coffee and watching the fog lift off the lake with the vivid fall foliage. The cabin was just right, once again.

Beautiful Quiet Location

  • 4 of 5

I was at the cabin October 14th-16th 2016 with my boyfriend and we wanted a nice quiet place to relax but we also wanted a beautiful view and we got that here. The cabin is small perfect for 2 people. The view of the lake and the mountains was very beautiful. I wanted to do some fishing but this time of the year the water level is much lower, about 20 feet lower than during the summer months and I did not know this so I could not use their dock to fish from but if you walk down past the cabin there is another dock where you can fish off of where they kept the kayaks. The cabin was nice with a fully stocked and working kitchen. There were even condiments and spices there which was nice. The decks are very nice and so was the grill and the hot tub. They did specify they had a DVD player but there was not one and we brought movies to watch and couldn't, also stated they had a hair dryer and I didn't bring mine and there was no hair dryer. They have you pay quite a heafty cleaning fee of $125 some places do charge even more, but apparently the cleaning crew didn't clean too well before we got there. You are asked to tear the bed down and leave the sheets on the floor and start the wash of the towels, and to load the dishwasher and wash the dishes. I didn't mind doing that, I like to leave the place the way I found it but in all honesty with that cleaning fee I don't feel we should have to do all that, that's what the money we paid for cleaning is for in my opinion. Lots of cobwebs in the cabin and lots of spiders. I went to grab my wine glass and one was crawling on the glass and we saw several in the cabin during our stay. I think the most important thing I can say about this cabin that you need to be aware of is the driveway. It is mentioned not to drive all the way down the driveway past the cabin because there is no where to turn around at the end but if you are in a truck or any big vehicle you need to be very careful. We were in a truck and wanted to park at the cabin but you have to pull a little past the cabin and turn around because it would be impossible to back up the driveway and you have very little room to turn around and do not and I repeat do not arrive in the dark, you would never get turned around in the dark. All in all the cabin was beautiful and I would stay there again.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you experienced any issues at all. That is unusual for my guests. I am not sure what happened with the hair dryer but I did replace that. I know that was a hard one to deal with. If you would have contacted me I would have been happy to replace it at the time. I am sorry about the spider issues you spoke of. We do spray for insects regularly. You are the first person to complain and the only thing that I can offer in the way of explanation is the cabin had been vacant for about 2 weeks when you visited. It does not take long at all for cobwebs to be spun. This property is situated next to water and is in a wooded area so it is impossible to gaurantee that you will never see an insect or cobwebs. We do clean very well after each guest. I am sorry that you were offended about the check out items we ask you to do. We do that so that in high season the cleaning person has a headstart on the work so the next guest does not have to wait so long. I am sorry that offended you. Of course we do not require that our guest do that and say nothing at all if they do not. I do understand your point of view and I even agree with you. If you are paying a cleaning fee you should not have to "lift a finger". I will take down the request sign immediatly. Regarding the parking and road situation. I think I make that pretty clear on my site. I will disagree with you on one point. I have backed may vehicles up that driveway including a nine foot transit service truck with no problems. If you back into parking space at cabin close to the wall it is possible to turn around and drive back up the hill as well. You are the first to complain of this also. Lastly I have never had anyone mention the want of a DVD player and I am unaware if my webpage makes a claim that we have one. I am so glad that you enjoyed yourself otherwise. I will definitely be on the look out for spiders and cobwebs in the future.

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

The house is perfect! We stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it! Very nice deck views with of the lake with a grill, hot tub, and an amazing deck with reclining chairs. Everything we could have needed was present and we loved using the kayaks each day along with the fishing poles. The house is very clean with all needed kitchen appliances, wifi, cable, and two tvs. Owners are very nice and easy to deal with. My wife and I will definitely be going back!

A perfect weekend on the Lake!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four stayed here the the holiday weekend. We rented a boat for a day and then swam, kayaked and relaxed the other days. The cabin, dock, etc was exactly as described and very neat and clean. It had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend on the lake. The location was perfect - easy to find - great views. Thank you!
