About Kathy Siebe

We have made Wallowa County our home for the last 35 years, and plan to spend the next 35 year here as well! Always on the go, we enjoy hiking, golfing, and being tourists in our own town.

Kathy Siebe purchased this house in 2014

Why Kathy Siebe chose Oregon

We bought this property because it was sad and rundown and we wanted to make it beautiful again. We have completely renovated it and are very happy with the results. We hope visitors will enjoy it as well.

What makes this house unique

We wanted to make this a vacation rental property because the location is perfect. It is close to the north end of Wallowa Lake where the locals swim and play and also central to the downtown Joseph. It is great fun sitting on the front porch and watching the people (and deer!) go by. The backyard is large and would be great for a volleyball game and the patio is perfect for barbecuing.

Location is perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Wild Iris House! The location is perfect - an easy walk to downtown Joseph and the galleries, shops, and restaurants. It's also an easy drive to Wallowa Lake. The house is very comfortable - the beds were very comfortable and it was obvious that the home has been well cared for. The local beer and chocolates that the owners left were a special treat! There is so much to do in this area - we love taking the tram to the top of Mt. Howard and hiking around. This time we also pedaled from Joseph to Enterprise with the railriders. What a great way to use an old rail line!

Home away from Home

We had a wonderful stay at this house. My mother especially enjoyed the apple trees (as did the many deer). Comfortable and well equipped The Wild Iris House is walking distance to town and to the lake.

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

Great location, excellent house, very much enjoyed our stay. Outside appearance is simple and functional (cinder-block construction), but the inside is spacious, modern, clean, very comfortable, and fully stocked with everything you need. Kitchen had everything, knives were even sharp. Little BBQ was great, we used it twice. House was nice and cool with the central AC, despite the high August temps outside. And the Roku TV was awesome, you can sign in and out with your own Netflix/Amazon accounts.

Backyard is nice and well-maintained (yes, lots of deer in the morning and at night... they like the apples!), view of the mountains is splendid! Short walk to town, short drive to the lake/wilderness. Of course Joseph continues to be one of the most beautiful places anywhere.

Our family of four stayed for four nights, would have stayed more if we could have. Our kids loved it. Truly a home away from home! Highly recommended, we will be back.

Great place in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

We rented The Wild Iris House for a short vacation that included a family wedding in Joseph, OR. Being a few minutes walk into town, a short drive (or longer walk) to the lake, and very close to the wedding venue (Mt. Joseph Ranch) made this house an ideal location for us and two of our adult children. The interior of the house is wonderful - apparently newly remodeled and it shows! The living area, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom are all nicely updated and decorated. We didn't lack for any amenities (DW, W/D, bikes[!], outdoor furniture, even chocolates and beer to greet us!). Add to all of this the daily visits from deer who come to browse and enjoy the apple trees and it made for a truly enjoyable stay. Highly recommended for a quiet, comfortable, conveniently located place to stay in the beautiful Wallowa Lake area!
