All the comforts of home but with that cabin feeling!
If you're looking for a relaxing place to stay, choose this quiet forested residential neighborhood on a short road with only 6 homes, and each home sits on at least 7 acres.
Here you'll enjoy a stream that flows all year around, deer in your yard, butterflies, small lizards, wildflowers, birds singing all day and a million stars and lightning bugs at night.
Boat rental is available at Mountain Harbor Marina, which is about 15 minutes away. And if you bring your own boat, you can launch it at the Twin Creeks Recreational park, which is about 6 minutes from the house. There's room to keep your boat trailer on site at our vacation home.
Our favorite swimming place is the Twin Creeks Recreational park, too. And the stream that runs around our property is a great place for safe, clean wading.

I'm a nurse from Indiana who's lived in this area for 13 years. I enjoy animals, nature and swimming in Lake Ouachita. I live on this 7-acre property in a small cottage near the vacation home. In the warm months, I'm on my sailboat most of the time. The people here are friendly and laid back. Come and have a great time!

Loved the house, it felt like a cabin. Loved being able to walk out the front door and the creek was right there.
We really enjoyed our stay at this home. There was plenty of room and the house was clean. We would definitely stay there again in the future.
I traveled to Mt. Ida with my 3 daughters, 12, 9 and 7. We LOVED our stay place. It was quiet, clean and peaceful and there was enough room for all of us to have plenty of room inside and outside. We were provided with plenty of materials to find amazing things to do. We swam in a nearby crystal lake everynight and if it got hot we took a dip in the cool spring on the property we stayed on. We got to go crystal digging and had so much fun finding beautiful crystals. It was close enough to take a day trip to Hot Springs. It was such a perfect vacation and we cant wait to go back.
The place did have plenty of room and beds but it wasn't the weekend getaway we were expecting. It had an older feel to it. While it does advertise 3 bedrooms, one bedroom is not quite a bedroom. It does have a bed, but you must walk through the room to enter the next bedroom. It also had a wall of windows that had no blinds or curtains and get full morning sun.
I will say the house was clean and seems to be well maintained. There is no central A/C, each room has a window unit which tended to be loud and run constantly.
The one other point that I want to mention is that the house is on a dirt/gravel road. This was an issue for us since we had one of our group on a motorcycle.
