The Water Wheel House is located in a quiet upscale neighborhood within walking distance to downtown Kanab. With 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a great fenced yard on a corner lot, this really is a great place to stay.
Enjoy the stunning views in all directions. Take advantage of the indoor or outdoor swimming pool, and hot tub at the clubhouse. Walking distance from the house, you will find trails into Tom's Canyon for a short easy hike or, for the more adventures, a network or world class trails for hiking or trail running.
The house accommodates up to 6 people in spacious rooms with comfortable beds. The master suite is located on the opposite side of the house from the other two bedrooms for privacy. The master bath is pure luxury with double sinks, a garden tub, a walk in shower and a walk in closet. The master bedroom has a king size bed and comes equipped with a 32 inch LCD TV. The french doors give access to the covered patio and yard and a stunning view of red rock. In the guest bedrooms you will find a queen size bed and two twin sized beds. A separate full bathroom is provided for the two guest bedrooms. The living room boasts a 36 inch TV and there is cable TV service in both living room and bedroom. The house is also equipped with internet service.
The large covered patio offers great views of the surrounding red rock while protecting you from the sun or rain. The yard is completely fenced off with a 5 foot tall fence to protect children and pets. Bring your own pets, or if you are volunteering at the famous Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, have your sleepovers enjoy the large fenced yard or take them for a walk to the nearby dog park.
Kanab is classic western town, bursting with history, cultural resources and magnificent landscapes. This property is right in the middle of it all. A short walk to town or a hike into the canyon are just outside the front door. Close to many National Parks and Monuments, State Parks and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, it is the perfect Base Camp for all your adventures.
The La Estancia development is a newer upscale community in Kanab set beautifully beneath the red Vermilion Cliffs. With a wonderful community indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub and clubhouse, you can relax after your day's adventures.
We stayed a week in the house and loved every minute. We are family of 4 and found the house to be quite comfortable and pleasurable. It's clean, spacious, attractive. Appliances, fixtures and furniture are all in great shape. Grill was clean and worked fine. Beds are comfortable. Fans and AC were working great. Overall, this is a great house that our family enjoyed returning to after long days on the trails. We did not use the pools, however, because we got home too late each day, but that was our fault. The location is what really made this house extra special for us. You are close enough to Zion, Bryce and the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon. It's the perfect hub as Kanab is a nice town. We were lucky to catch the annual Western Festival coming through. The house is also about 7 minutes away from Best Friends Annual Sanctuary, a very special place that the home owner told me about. I would definitely come back to Southern Utah and stay in this home again. My only suggestion - please get ESPN so my son and I can watch baseball after a long day of hiking! Kidding. Thanks Tana for a great place to spend our vacation.
We always stay in homes or condos for our vacations as we are raising our three granddaughters. I like to cook rather than going out to eat and the kitchen was perfect here and very functional. We did decide to go out to eat for lunch and stopped by the Three Bears Restaurant. We would NOT recommend this place to eat as it was sketchy on cleanliness. Three women in the kitchen with no hair nets or gloves cooking and handling food. We should have walked out but didn't and we didn't get sick so all is well.
We were very happy with this home. It is beautiful inside and out and had everything we needed for a great time. Only thing missing in this house were bars of soap for the showers and a cookie pan and pizza pan!! Not a big deal as for some reason, anywhere we have stayed there hasn't been a cookie sheet or pizza pan available. There was shampoo and conditioner in each shower and laundry soap for washing clothes and everything else you would need though. Andrea, the house manager, stopped by just after we arrived and is very friendly and helpful. We didn't have to call her for anything because everything was so great. The pool was great and we swam every day in the indoor pool. This time of year, we were the only ones at the pool so the girls were in heaven! The outdoor pool was closed for winter. This house sits surrounded by beautiful red cliffs and we took walks everyday in the surrounding area. Very quite neighborhood and everyone in the neighborhood that we saw waved and were very friendly. We want to return to this home in the summer and visit the surrounding national parks and monuments. They are all in close proximity to this area. There are plenty of hiking trails also. The house was clean and we were especially excited to bring our dog along with us. There is a kennel, dog bowls, and blankets to cover furniture which made it very easy to have her there. We would definitely recommend this property and will most likely return for another great time in the summer months!! Thanks to the Colin and Andrea for their great service and we are so grateful that the property was everything that it is advertised to be and more!
My wife, 2 dogs and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Water Wheel house. Everything we needed was provided. The bed in the master is awesome. We did not use the other beds at all. The kitchen was perfect and alll the appliances worked great. We utilized the days g park several times and our pups loved it .
We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home. The views were stunning and the neighborhood was quiet. The first two mornings were very chilly and the heater wasn't working.....with two babies this was a particular problem. I left a message with the property manager and some hours later, another woman contacted me to solve the problem. She brought us four space heaters from her house and scheduled someone to come and fix the heater right away. She was wonderful!
One of the reasons we chose to stay in this home was because it was pet friendly and the owner was warm and welcoming of that fact. You would never be able to tell when you walked in the door that animals had previously been in the home and we loved being able to bring our dog. It was refreshing to not have to be drilled on the size of our dog, etc. as with previous places we have stayed........smaller dogs can do just as much damage! The large crate provided in the laundry room ensured my dog was safe and comfortable when we visited Zions for the day and he enjoyed his daily romps to the nearby dog park.
We have never visited southern Utah before and have reminisced about our time since we have been home. We are gearing up for a return trip in 2017 and will definitely be staying in this home again! Thank you!
Outstanding. The house is beautiful, clean and fully stocked. The location relative to town and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary can't be beat. Would absolutley recommend it and already looking forward to booking again next year! Thank you for making our visit to Utah even better this year!
Great house-- spacious with high ceilings, clean, very comfortable, well laid out, set up for our dog and has everything you need during your stay. Quiet neighborhood, great view of the red rocks and we'll definitely be back.
A group of four seniors found this facility to be more than adequate for our needs. The central location to the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Bryce and Zion added to the experience for all of us. The view from the back porch area was outstanding and helped all of us to focus on the wonders of the area. Being "flatlanders" we always woke in amazement as to where we were. Red Rock Canyon has it own beauty to it.
The house, itself, was roomy and had everything that we needed to make ourselves at home. Nothing was left out of the preparation for our visit. The availability of the garage added to our feeling of security in the area.
A very appropriate and nice property if anyone is visiting the canyon area of Utah. The ease of making the reservation through VRBO was appreciated very much.
Our thanks to the owner for making this property available on VRBO so that we could avail ourselves of the opportunity.
