Overview

About the property

2 Br, 1 1/2 Bath With Sun Room, Patio, Landscaped Yard.

Sweet beach bungalow in the historic Parrot Cove section of Lake Worth, one of the last undeveloped beach communities in South Florida. Walk to the quaint and artistic town of Lake Worth: restaurants, coffee shops, live theater, music, galleries, golf, & local festivals. A few minutes drive or 8 minute bike ride to the beach!

There are 2 bedrooms that can sleep 2 people each and another day bed in the sun room that can sleep 2 more. It's completely furnished with a mid-century flair, including the original metal kitchen cabinetry. The kitchen/pantry is stocked with everything you need including spices, condiments, and a few canned and boxed goods.

This is a laid back neighborhood with great architecture, fauna, and a vibrant cultural community. It's been called "Key North" by some of the local residents, as it has the look and feel of old Florida. Beach features Benny's (a place to eat on a pier over the ocean), shops, boardwalk, playground, parking, surfing, and life guards.

About Charles Cornelis

We are a creative couple with 2 wonderful children. Sharon is an actor, writer, director and Chuck is a musician and visual artist. We live in the Catskill Mountains of New York near the town of Woodstock, a bustling artist community and destination for weekend and summer getaways. We live in the mountains but both have a passion for ocean beaches and warm climates. This is our getaway when we need a warm beach escape.

Why Charles Cornelis chose Parrot Cove

This home fits our needs perfectly. Its tropical climate and proximity to an artistic community makes this place really special for us. We can bike or walk to almost everything we need. It is close to 2 airports and we can get there in just a few hours.

What makes this cottage unique

The house and property have the charm of "Old Florida" and we immediately knew it would fit our needs. You feel almost like you're on an island or one of the Florida Keys.

Outstanding!!!!

  • 5 of 5

So I tend to be overly picky and search sites looking and obsessing until I feel I've found the perfect place. Well, this beautiful home was all we could have asked for and more! Beautiful, clean, spacious --- simply delightful! Chuck was super accommodating and the amenities were perfection! Enjoyed downtown Lake Worth, the beautiful beach and it is truly centrally located to everything! Look no further, this home is such a deal for the money---you won't be disappointed!

Owner's Response: Mary and her family were great guests. Since our home is in a quiet neighborhood, it's important to us that our renters are courteous to quiet. We received good reports from the locals and our housekeeper. We would rent to her again!

Christmas Holiday Vacation

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I spent a week at Christmas time while visiting our daughter and her family. The home was clean and had plenty of space for the 2 of us. The furnishings were in good condition and everything functioned as intended. The mattress in the larger bedroom was nice and firm and very comfortable. The owners left various food stuffs in the pantry and fridge for tenants use, asking they be replaced if used. This was nice to have available.

There were a couple of surprises - we were unaware there is no dishwasher and no cable T.V. I don't believe this was mentioned in the VRBO ad. Also, there was no can opener - it could have been misplaced by the previous tenant. I borrowed one from the neighbor, Rose Mary, and got one from a thrift store for the future tenants use. The fridge is located in the utility room and a bit awkward to get into and out of.

Other than that the property is comfy and a nice place to stay while visiting the Lake Worth area.

We loved being so close to the ocean. There was always something going on at the ocean, from people surfing and parasailing to a circle of drums when there was a full moon. It was an all together enchanting experience and I loved the eclectic neighborhood.

Parrot Bay

Needs a few refinements to make it better but I know this is a new operation. Neighborhood was quiet and most things worked properly. We enjoyed the area very much.

Our Home is a sweet beach bungalow in the historic Parrot Cove section of Lake Worth, one of the last undeveloped beach communities in South Florida. Walk to the beach, restaurants, coffee shops, live theater, music, galleries, golf, & local festivals.

Lake Worth is a vibrant community. An extraordinary place where tranquility meets creativity and where warm tropics meet hot topics. It's a dynamic, multi-cultural city with a strong social and environmental consciousness. People are drawn to the city by its independent character, acceptance of different cultures and lifestyles, many historic structures, hip downtown, and distinctive residential neighborhoods. The city has a rich history and is protective of its historic architectural fabric. Over 1,000 historic buildings contribute to the human scale and charm of the downtown and residential areas. The downtown is considered the artistic soul of Lake Worth with a historic theater and a museum, live music clubs, coffee houses, art galleries, antique malls, retail stores, and many restaurants.

Take the Tri-Rail ($6) from either the Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach airport. Then, a short cab ride and you're there. A car is not absolutely necessary as there's much to offer within walking or biking distance.
