About the property

Enjoy morning coffee and evening sunsets on a flagstone patio with great lake and mountain views in the quiet of this country setting. Private garden level entry opens to a spacious living area with all the comforts of home. Great for a family.

Hop into your car and you are five minutes to the restaurants and stores of North Boulder. In another 5 minutes you are at movie theaters, the famous Pearl Street Mall with musicians, street performers, art shows, wonderful shops and interesting people watching.

There is one large bedroom with a queen size bed, and an attached bathroom. There is also a queen sized air bed off the spacious living room area. with comfy couches a flat-screen TV and high speed WiFi. The kitchenette is equipped with microwave, toaster oven, small frig and two burner cook top; coffee maker, electric kettle and all the basics needed for a comfortable stay.

Towels and linens are provided.

You have immediate access to premier cycling areas of Boulder County. Hiking trails are less than five minutes away. One hour to skiing, twenty minutes to historic Lyons on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Plenty of property.

While you will have all the privacy you desire, there is some sound that travels between floors. We live in the main part of the house and are available to make your stay as pleasant as possible. So, please let us know how we can help.

About Judith Orloff

We bought the house because we fell in love with the view. We have dedicated ourselves to making the house and the property something that we love. We have planted tress and flower gardens, and have two large vegetable gardens. Our last outside project: a back patio, is wrapping up this week.

We act in local plays, go to the farmer's market, enjoy the terrific local scene. We also spend lots of time outdoors both nearby and in the high country.

This property has an amazing view. Both mountains and lake. It is quiet. The gardens are beautiful year round. Although we are only 5 minutes from Boulder it is tranquil. We are in the midst of great wildlife viewing; Bald Eagles during the day and Owls at night.

What makes this apartment unique

The best thing about our house is that you can be in Denver one minute and the country the next. Or you can ski in the morning and have a great meal in Boulder that evening. CU connection, we are ten minutes away. Or... just stay home and sit on one of the terraces and soak up the view.

We welcome business travelers. With high speed internet and a wireless printer your work can get done while enjoying he beautiful view.

Jonathan and Judith's place was perfect for my family who were visiting Boulder. Just 10-15 min drive from downtown, the house is spacious and has a beautiful view of the lake. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful. I would happily recommend this place to anyone visiting me in the future.

Comfortable place away from home with room to roam.

Lovely view from dining area and I enjoyed a comfortable stay. Jonathan was a very nice host and provided the information as needed. The rental is below the main house and if one doesn't mind general "upstairs" noise in the morning, you will enjoy this place.

Spacious and comfortable in a fantastic location

Overall, this basement apartment was perfect for my needs! It was very clean and well-equipped with comfortable furniture/bedding and a feeling of home away from home. I spent most of my time outside and used this space to change clothes, grab a bite to eat, and then to sleep at night. I could hear the owners upstairs when they were home but it had minimal impact on me. If you need a nice, safe place to stay while in the Boulder area, this is a very reasonably priced option in a beautiful setting just 15 minutes from downtown. Quiet homes on the street, gorgeous lake and mountain views, 0.5 miles from running and biking trails, and owners that are available but give you all the privacy you seek. The only thing I would do upon return is ensure that I know how to control the temperature in the apartment. Recommend a more detailed welcome book with instructions for climate control. I would stay here again without question.

Nice place with a nice view...

Upon arriving we were met by Jonathan who was very accommodating in turning on the a/c (Floridians like it cold!) and lowering the humidity in the apartment. Although we were looking forward to spending more time chillin at the rental, we were actually only there to sleep, shower grab some breakfast and hit the road to explore many points of interest!

The rental was very clean, stocked with the essentials and then some (thank you for leaving the coffee pods and creamer for us) since we got in too late to shop the 1st night! The view from the kitchen table is what sold me on this unit and it did not disappoint me even though the snow was long gone. I would suggest having some type of bug zapper and a few reclining chairs to relax on and a table to sit at, in order to enjoy spending time on the patio that looks out on the lake and mountains.

I knew the owners were early risers however they do need to be more aware of how loud the pacing at 4:30 a.m. is to their renters. After 12-15 hour days hiking and exploring, light sleepers like ourselves appreciate quiet mornings till at least 9:00am. We also have a dog and the occasional bark was fine but again this might disturb others who are looking for a quieter escape.

The bifold doors separating the rental from the upstairs should also be locked. Upon entering and looking around I mistakenly opened the doors and realized the dog was at the top of the stairs looking down at me. He looked extremely friendly! Wish we had the opportunity to have met him/her.

This was our 1st time using a VRBO and would recommend this rental to others. The location and proximity to the roads and the towns that we visited, made getting around extremely convenient. You really get A LOT for the price and convenience!

Nice area just outside of Boulder

Lots of space. This basement "apartment" is essentially the bottom floor of Jon & Judith's home. There is a separate entrance and plenty of privacy. The kitchenette area is perfect for 1-2 people that plan to do very little or simple cooking. There are two beds - they are either queen or full size (a bit short for my husband but he is 6'3"). The only caution is that because this is a basement area, you can hear the residents moving around upstairs - including when they were vacuuming and when doing laundry, dishes, etc. It would be no different than any other true apartment setting on a lower floor.

Our home is just 3 miles north of Boulder Colorado on a quiet acre. Once your settled you can sit out on the patio and take in the view, often you can see the reflection of the foothills in the lake.

You can take your car and be on the famous Pearl St. Mall in about 15 minutes. The next day you can take the road north, stop for lunch in scenic Lyons on your way to Rocky Mt. National Park, just an hour away.

Denver; with it's museums, Zoo, restaurants and shopping is less than an hour. There is hiking both on the flat plains and in the foothills right by the house. The Indian Peaks Wilderness with thousands of acres of hiking, backpacking, and cross country skiing is 45 minutes up a beautiful canyon drive. Every drive is scenic.

Downtown Boulder offers excellent dining and shopping, movies, world class Shakespeare and all that a large university has to offer.
