About the property

Enjoy morning coffee and evening sunsets on a flagstone patio with great lake and mountain views in the quiet of this country setting. Private garden level entry opens to a spacious living area with all the comforts of home. Great for a family.

Hop into your car and you are five minutes to the restaurants and stores of North Boulder. In another 5 minutes you are at movie theaters, the famous Pearl Street Mall with musicians, street performers, art shows, wonderful shops and interesting people watching.

There is one large bedroom with a queen size bed, and an attached bathroom. There is also a queen sized air bed off the spacious living room area. with comfy couches a flat-screen TV and high speed WiFi. The kitchenette is equipped with microwave, toaster oven, small frig and two burner cook top; coffee maker, electric kettle and all the basics needed for a comfortable stay.

Towels and linens are provided.

You have immediate access to premier cycling areas of Boulder County. Hiking trails are less than five minutes away. One hour to skiing, twenty minutes to historic Lyons on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Plenty of property.

While you will have all the privacy you desire, there is some sound that travels between floors. We live in the main part of the house and are available to make your stay as pleasant as possible. So, please let us know how we can help.

About Judith Orloff

We bought the house because we fell in love with the view. We have dedicated ourselves to making the house and the property something that we love. We have planted tress and flower gardens, and have two large vegetable gardens. Our last outside project: a back patio, is wrapping up this week.

We act in local plays, go to the farmer's market, enjoy the terrific local scene. We also spend lots of time outdoors both nearby and in the high country.

This property has an amazing view. Both mountains and lake. It is quiet. The gardens are beautiful year round. Although we are only 5 minutes from Boulder it is tranquil. We are in the midst of great wildlife viewing; Bald Eagles during the day and Owls at night.

What makes this apartment unique

The best thing about our house is that you can be in Denver one minute and the country the next. Or you can ski in the morning and have a great meal in Boulder that evening. CU connection, we are ten minutes away. Or... just stay home and sit on one of the terraces and soak up the view.

We welcome business travelers. With high speed internet and a wireless printer your work can get done while enjoying he beautiful view.

Judith and Jonathan were great host. This is the perfect place to come and relax. The view from the patio is fantastic. I have been here for 3 days and other than a few shorts walks have stayed on the property. I have been to Colorado many times so did not feel the need to site see or shop. I tried extending my trip, but unfortunately the place is booked. I will come back and I will stay here. I have rented from both Airbnb and VRBO many times and although many were beautiful, none come close to the views Judith and Jonathan's home offers.

Location could not be more perfect for those wanting to visit Boulder.

A Dream!

I absolutely loved my time in this space. It's perfectly set up, and very private. You hear a little bit of footstep noise from upstairs but it never bothered me at all. The view from the patio is spectacular - lake, high prairie, the beginning of the mountains, and sky. Wow! Inside everything is high quality. There's a table to seat 6, a cozy L shaped couch to watch tv/videos, a small kitchen, the bedroom, and a bathroom. Everything is very clean and comfortable. The first thing I did was go through all of Jonathan's records, since he said I could use the record player, and I had a great time reliving the music and album covers of my college years! You can entertain guests, though the kitchen doesn't lend itself to very involved cooking. There are several cozy nooks for reading. It's an easy drive to both Boulder and Longmont. I think my very favorite part was the slate patio, which was surrounded by huge rocks to create the space. From there I could feel the constant breeze, watch the clouds move over the mountains, and let time slip by as I daydreamed the day away. At night it was magical. I hope to be back very soon!

Nice get-away with great view

Swallow Hill

A wind-swept hill,

around us the howling wind,

below us the lake’s black surface,

and distant ranges enveloped in flashing clouds.

Then suddenly it’s quiet,

the air is calm,

the clouds part to reveal

the shining crescent

reigning over the peaceful landscape.

It was great to have the entire lower floor just to ourselves with lots of space and a terrace to enjoy the view, and a wonderful library covering every subject you might want to read about. Jon was very helpful and hospitable, trying hard to solve problems as they arose, and Winston was quite well behaved. The kitchen is adequate for preparing breakfasts and small meals and the Lucky's shopping center with excellent restaurants is a short drive away.

Perfect & Beautiful: For Singles, Couples, & Small Families

My husband and I stayed here with our 7 month old son, and it was absolutely perfect. The property is right on a reservoir, facing the mountains. So if that's the reason you visit Colorado, then this place is for you. While you can't walk to downtown (you can certainly bike, like everyone else), within a five minute's drive is everything you need: we picked up all of our food and goodies at Lucky's Market. It's a ten minute drive to the university area, an hour drive to Red Rocks and Golden, an hour drive to Greeley, and an hour drive to the airport. Really central location.

Judith and Jonathan were perfect hosts. Don't like to talk? Great, they'll leave you alone! Like to talk? Great, they'll show you around their lush gardens and talk about spend time with your family! J&J provided every little amenity you could imagine for the kitchen. They also have an extensive library of books (for the young and the old) and games. Cable. Air-conditioning. Incredibly clean. I also have a new appreciation for one-level homes, with a 7-month-old. Can you tell we loved it?

If you have a car, this place is perfect. If you don't have a car, but you are a biker, then this place is perfect too.

Our home is just 3 miles north of Boulder Colorado on a quiet acre. Once your settled you can sit out on the patio and take in the view, often you can see the reflection of the foothills in the lake.

You can take your car and be on the famous Pearl St. Mall in about 15 minutes. The next day you can take the road north, stop for lunch in scenic Lyons on your way to Rocky Mt. National Park, just an hour away.

Denver; with it's museums, Zoo, restaurants and shopping is less than an hour. There is hiking both on the flat plains and in the foothills right by the house. The Indian Peaks Wilderness with thousands of acres of hiking, backpacking, and cross country skiing is 45 minutes up a beautiful canyon drive. Every drive is scenic.

Downtown Boulder offers excellent dining and shopping, movies, world class Shakespeare and all that a large university has to offer.
