The community is like no other with great staff and first class apartments. "Stay at The Top" is the best short term apartment available in the Pittsburgh market with a view you will never forget! Whether you are in town for a sports weekend, romantic getaway, or you are a first class business person this is the place for your hIgh standards!
My husband and I spent a fun filled month in the city while residing at this River Vue apartment! We had a fabulous view in the best part of the city full of activities and restaurants. Short and easy walk to Pirates Baseball games with fireworks, concerts at Heinz Field- We enjoyed One Direction & Luke Bryan, world class theater at the Benedum, Yoga classes in the park (free!) and reasonably priced Bike Tours. The listing was accurate and Amy was very responsive to any questions. We were there for over a month and did not have one issue or concern - everything was perfect. I would also like to compliment the fully staffed 24 hour valet service - a very professional, friendly and helpful team worked together to make parking and bike storage stress free. I would recommend staying at this location.
Let me start by saying this stay was less than perfect from the beginning, but turned out alright in the end.
First off I made my reservation Sept 23rd, and my reservation was "accepted" and card charged. Then on Oct 5(2 days and 1 evening before I was to arrive) I was notified there was a mistake in the listing and the owners wanted me to pay the corrected fee of 3x my original amount or my reservation would be "cancelled". This did not sit well with me, as the price was one reason I booked in the first place, and secondly it put me into a panic that my housing was going to be cancelled, at fees to me, so close to my trip. After many panicked emails later the owners agreed to let me stay for the price that was already charged to my card (as they should've given it was not my fault it was listed incorrectly and after they "accepted my offer" and charged my card at originally listed price weeks prior!)
The apartment: the view is nice, and it is near a fun part of town. This is most likely the reason for the inflated cost. The apartment itself was nothing special, and looks like an after thought rather than a well planned out comfortable place to stay. The deck lacks any patio furniture so to enjoy the view you must stand amidst some cobwebs and lean on the wall. Would be a great place for a breakfast nook/table to enjoy the morning while sipping coffee. The rest of the apartment was also bare with minimum things for comfort. May I suggest to the owners of adding wine glasses, adding some wall art and rearranging the art you do have to create a welcome feel (place your bedroom pic above your bed not crammed by closet), adding a comfortable throw blanket/afghan on the couch, investing in better towels that are not cheap, scratchy, and small, adding a bath mat so you don't have to put your towel on the floor to get out of the shower, upgrading your hairdryer to not the cheapest option at target, dusting prior to a new stay--all furniture and drawers were dusty. Additionally please complete your manual, the pages on local info were blank, your information to log on to internet was incorrect (username was different than in paperwork), TV instructions were also confusing and more difficult not to mention for the price they want I believe that should include premium cable.
All in all it lacked a personal touch of comfort. I believe it was adequate for what I paid, but I would have been significantly disappointed if I was charged the correct price.
