About LaCinda Benson
It is a life-long dream to blend my love of Northern Italy with my passion for Hospitality. You let me know what type of experience you are interested in and count on me to do all I can to ensure you are more than satisfied.
Why LaCinda Benson chose Solonghello
This property is so special with it's location on a hillside below an ancient castle as well as a prior gold factory. It exudes a classic, Italian spirit with a casual, retro vibe so regardless of your mood there is a space you can enjoy. The tiny villages that dot the Monferrato region offer unique spots to explore, with great food, and friendly people with authentic Italian country life style.
What makes this Villa unique
Whether your interests are in the sacred pilgrimage at Santa de Crea or the various wine tastings offered at the many wineries, there are intriguing opportunities. Being 20 minutes away from a train station, or better yet with a car hop on the autostrada, provides the ability to spend the day in marvelous Milano or Torino then return to the serene setting in the country. This location lets you explore tiny villages or metropolitan cities -- a real taste of 'la dolce vita'.

Exquisite Home and Amazing Host
Casa Serena was beyond perfection. You could see the attention to detail throughout the house both in the beauty and in the comfort. Both bedrooms are thoughtfully laid out and the beds are divine (one of the best night's sleep I've had in a while!). Amenities are great too-hair dryer in the bathroom, extra toiletries, snacks/coffee/Italian breakfast, stereo with Bluetooth connection for your music, plenty of storage in the rooms to unpack your bags. The peace of sitting on the terrace was truly one of my favorite memories of my stay there, the view is stunning.
Part of what made Casa Serena so special was LaCinda. She provided thoughtful suggestions for me and my friend. I'm a chef by trade and my friend has Celiac's so we were very particular in our desires and LaCinda managed to give incredible ideas across the board. The local restaurants she recommended were amazing, the wineries were great, and the bakery....oh my goodness, I would love one of their strawberry tarts right about now! She managed to balance all of that with our desire for a quiet afternoon and we got to enjoy the peace of Solonghello uninterrupted.
A couple of things to note. You will definitely need a car. Public transportation was a once a day bus to the village which is out in the countryside. As long as you have a car though, it was easy to navigate the area and to get to all the local attractions. Wifi is not meant for streaming, just a quick email check here and there to stay in touch. But to be honest, it was so nice to disconnect.
Overall, this is one of my favorite places I've visited in Europe. The combination of Casa Serena, Solonghello, and a lovely host was truly a gift and I cherish it.
It was such a pleasure having you in my home! What a joy to see someone both love the villa as well as the setting. Buying wine with you at our local winery was such a fun stop. Looking forward to your return and will save your favorite spot on the terrace.
To explore the villages scattered around the Monferrato Region with their quaint coffee bars, hidden gems of trattorias & restaurants -- a car is recommended. However, my suggestion is to fly into Milan at either Malpensa or Linate Airports and take a train to Casale Monferrato and rent a car in Casale. Host is happy to ensure that transition goes smooth and you can even follow me to the villa 20 minutes away from Casale Train station. Of course, the drive from Milan to Solonghello is also an interesting mix of autostrada and roads through towns in the outskirts of Milan. Your choice, just let us know how we can be helpful. Having a car to explore in the wine country really helps take in the area.
