About Stephen and Bri Martin

We love to travel but Sproat Lake has always felt like home no matter what time of the year it is always nice to be by the lake.

Stephen and Bri Martin purchased this house in 2015

Why Stephen and Bri Martin chose British Columbia

The view and location is just perfect! We felt like this was the best arm on Sproat Lake and could not get enough of being on the deck looking at the incredible mountains and long view of Striling Arm Drive.

What makes this house unique

Quiet residential area, across from the water sports association so an excellent view point for watching the competitions and wake boarders go over the jumps. Martin Mars Water bomber lands right in front of the deck and goes down the arm - Amazing experience!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our first visit from England to Canada and we got to stay in this beautiful place. Myself and my husband were blown away by the views & beauty of the house & lake. I finally stopped saying wow after about 2 hours. Weather was fresh & crisp and the colours of the trees were amazing. A very wonderful picture of Canada to take back to England with us. We hope to be back one day

A fun holiday in a beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed ten days of spectacularly hot weather at Sproat Lake, and LakeHouse was perfect for it. The beds are comfy, and the 4 singles in the loft are perfect for kids. There are about 50 steps down to the dock, and so very worth it: the water is warm and deep and crystal clear, with no weeds. We swam five times a day and loved it every time. The house is well stocked with everything we needed for a perfect holiday--even a canoe.

It's located near the end of a very quiet arm of the lake. It's across from the waterski club, but despite the hot weather during our week, we saw only a few boats, so it was nearly always quiet, with occasional shows of prowess on on the ski jump (very entertaining!).

We hope to come back next summer!

Amazing, spectacular, relaxing, beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Wow, there really are no words to describe how much fun we had at this beautiful cabin. From the moment we arrived to the breathtaking view off the deck and wharf, to the lovely layout of the cabin, the comfy beds, well stocked kitchen and everything you would ever need. We are already planning to come back next year and years to come. Bri and Stephen couldn't have been nicer, (Stephen even gave my husband a ride down to the boat ramp as there was just two of us). We stayed the two of us for a few nights and then my son and his friends came up for three nights. One of my son's friends who was from Saskatchewan literally cried when he got to the house and looked at the view of the lake. So many memories and so much fun. The cabin was so clean and functional. Lovely starry warm nights and even fun in the rain. And most of all so quiet!!!! Thanks again!!!!!! The Edwards Family. :)

perfect waterfront cottage

  • 4 of 5

The house comes with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are quiet, the bedding is great. The main area is all open, good for being together. The kitchen has everything you need - various small appliances, good coffee maker, good dishwasher, blenders, etc. Tons of dishes, bowls, pots, pans. The deck is great - partly covered so you always have shade and can barbecue and eat outside no matter the weather - and partly open so you can sit in the great loungers and look at the view. The steps down to the dock are a good workout - check out the cute alligator lizards about halfway down - they're like a Port Alberni gecko. The dock has mooring for a boat - which we rented from the Fish and Duck - and we had use of their canoe. It was awesome to be able to jump in the lack off of the dock whenever we wanted - the water is the best lake water anywhere. Loved it! Miss it!

Amazing Location - Just what we needed to relax before the busy Holidays!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here in December as part of our business trip. We extended our stay to relax a bit before the Christmas season. All I can say is it was an amazing place. I spent most evenings in front of the fire place and enjoying the view of the lake from the living room. We had snow and the mountains across the lake looked like a magical winter wonderland. We did lose power but Stephen and Bri were great hosts making sure we had everything we needed. The power came back on quickly and we went into town for dinner and breakfast. We did travel into Tofino for one day and walked South Chesterman beach and enjoyed the sunshine. The waves were spectacular after the wind storm. Dinner in Ucluelet at the Black Rock - excellent! We highly recommend staying at this vacation rental and plan on returning in the Summer so we can enjoy the lake with our family. Glad we considered staying here on our business trip and discovered a new Gem!

Thank you for a truly terrific stay. The house is so well laid out our concern about its size was quickly squashed. The lake was warm and clean and the location on the lake is ideal. Looking forward to next year!
