Also 2 miles from the Mount Batten Centre with its water sport facilities. Closest beach 3 miles with lovely coastal walks. Dartmoor National Park a short drive away. Cycle routes through parks and forests and direct route to Dartmoor for the more adventurous.

Comfortable one bedroom apartment with ensuite shower room, large lounge diner with futon and kitchen.

Off road parking is available and the apartment has its own patio set and barbecue. Situated in the quiet district of Plymstock on the outskirts of Plymouth only 5 minutes from the sea and close to the local shopping centre.

Ideal for those wanting to visit the surrounding area. Close to the South Hams with its beautiful beaches, Dartmoor for those who like to walk or just to explore by car. For those who like to cycle this is the perfect location with many cycle routes.

Plymouth now has a new indoor shopping centre and only a short drive from the apartment is the large Vue Cinema, bowling and restaurants for those rainy days.

Clean, quiet and comfortable

Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the location was very convenient, just a few minutes drive from Plymouth. The flat was clean, quiet and comfortable and, aside from a rather tiny bathroom, it was just the right size for our needs.

Nice, clean, well located property

I'd say you need a car to stay here, but if yes, a very good location for exploring Plymouth and the whole of the local area. Dartmoor and e.g. Barrator Reservoir - is only a 30 min drive.

Excellent value for money. The maisonette was clean, well equipped and comfortable. TwoTVs, DVD player + great selection of DVDs to watch was good, microwave, full cooker, oven etc. fridge freezer.

There is a superb Morrisons Superstore less than 1/2 mile away which is open until late and which has everything you might need.

The bathroom is en suite, so anyone sleeping in the living area does need to go through bedroom to reach toilet, basin & shower.

The day we arrived Suzanne came round to check everything was OK and invited us to call on them if we needed anything more (which we didn't).

Things we did:

If you are into very good craft & unusual real ale, there is a beer shop nearby called "Vessel Beer Shop". Open until 8pm or 10pm (closed Mondays). Check it out on internet - 184 EXETER ST / PLYMOUTH / PL4 0NQ - You can park round the back for free after 6pm in the evenings. A bit pricey, but superb if you are into your beer!

We also went on a fabulous boat ride - to at least Royal William's Yard (or a bit further?) & back - only £8.50 pp - catch boat down by the Boathouse Cafe (also recommended for a coffee & light snack before boarding!). We saw submarines & Navy warships along the way.

Harbourside fish & chips - small meal for 1 only £3.80 - excellent!

"Sufa's" restaurant - Thai, Vietnamese, Laos, Myanmar and Malaysian food - fab! (East Quay House, Sutton Harbour, Plymouth PL4 OHX)

Visit to Polperro & Looe were very enjoyable and we'd recommend the Clovelly Bay Inn at Turnchapel (less than 3 miles from the flat) for great food.

Couldn't really ask for better!

The accommodaton is spacious, comfortable, well positioned, affordable with helpful and friendly hosts to boot. What more could you want. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and investigating Plymouth.

Excellent place to stay

Mount Batten water sports centre for those who like to sail, canoe, wind surf, diving etc worth while booking direct with the centre beforehand. Vue Cinema complex next to mega bowl and plenty of restaurants including Pizza Hut, there is also Oceana Night Club in this complex and plenty of parking.

Cycling or walking to Saltram House which belongs to the National Trust with its large grounds to explore, this cycle track then leads to Dartmoor. Dartmoor National Park with its rivers, tors and old pubs is well worth a visit.

The Barbican is full of history with its cobbled streets, the Mayfower Steps where the Pilgrim Fathers departed but also has the modern touch with many pubs and restaurants with outside seating giving it the Mediterranean feel with sailing boats and fishing boats there is plenty to see.

The Hoe has an outside pool (summer months only) with lovely views over the sound.
