About Kevin & Paula Protheroe
Kevin & I met in Yeovil in 2000 & moved to Sedgemore from South Sommerset because we had the opportunity to bring our horses onto our own land. Kevin is an ex Marine who has travelled the world and spent several years in Austrailer of which he has citizenship for and his two boys were born there. I am from North London and since moving to Somerset for work in 2000 have never looked back, life could not be more lovely.
Kevin & Paula Protheroe purchased this Farmhouse in 2006
Why Kevin & Paula Protheroe chose East Huntspill
Churchland Farm is just idylic and our joint dream of owning somewhere big enough to accommodate our dogs, cats and horses on our own land. It is often hard to remember there is a big wide world beyond our gates as we sit by the river taking in the beautiful country views and come rain or shine we know just how lucky we are to own our home in the beautiful County of Somerset
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Peace and tranquility, if you don't leave the grounds you can forget there is a world out there running at 100 miles an hour and if you do leave then the attractions of the seaside, Bristol city and numerous country villages are so near to hand.

Great place to stay
We had a fantastic stay at the Old Dairy. Kevin & Paula were fantastic hosts and very welcoming with nice little touch of milk in the fridge.
Kevin welcomed us to his farm & proudly showed all his horses. The kids got to ride on a horse .
Much excitement as new baby foal was born on our first night so we spent lots of time admiring her!
Great bonus of a hot tub - fantastic location, nice hosts & great price.
Lovely short stay
We booked for two nights over Easter and really enjoyed our stay. It was easy to find. A good size for our family of 4 plus dog. Kevin was a brilliant host and really made us welcome the kids loved the hot tub and we're over the moon to get to ride one of the horses. It really made our mini break special.
Many thanks Kevin
Great host and fresh air
We had a great time thanks to Kevin's hospitality and kindness who was always smiling and so helpful. The location is so quiet and full of fresh country air, highly recommended.
Lovely couple and children look forward to seeing them again
We had a lovely relaxing stay. A really nice property and very easy going owners.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The owners were kind enough to let our boys ride their horses, which they loved, and we all enjoyed getting in a hot tub at the end of each day! A really good location from who have it is easy to get to many of the local sites and there is so much to do in the area, making it a great place for a family holiday. Thank you to Kevin and Paula for your kindness and hospitality.
Great equestrian host
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Excellent ensuite room for us; modern kichen; comfortable sitting room.
Plus; we had a lesson horse riding by our host Kevin, carlos and equestrian champion Tia!
U want value for your money? Book it!
I booked churchland farm for Me and my partner tom with our children Brandon-Lee 9, Breanna-Marie 8 and Brooklyn-Maye 12weeks and had the most amazing time. Kevin is an absolute gem, the house was so snug and warm when we arrived, the beds are better than ours at home and nothing seemed like too much trouble for them, they even watched the baby while we were all in the hot tub. if you want rustic charm and peace and quiet, you couldn’t ask for more. The horses are really friendly and the kids loved stargazing in the hot tub at night it’s really pretty all lit up. Definatley coming again but staying for longer next time.
Lovely couple and the children look forward to seeing them all again they we're a pleasure to have
