Great for touring groups or executive entertainment.
Born and raised in south Louisiana.
Jason purchased this house in 2012
We chose this property as our "nearby get-away" with it being only a short drive from our home. The house is surrounded by Louisiana's fascinating history and culture, from the nearby plantations and neighbors.
This house was built on what is likely the last development in Lac des Allemands. The lake is influenced by saltwater which makes for great crabbing. The water lagoons and plant life allow for diverse wildlife, including an array of bird species and the occasional alligator.
We had such a nice weekend celebrating my fiance's birthday at this property. The huge porches overlooking the bayou and lake were great - so nice to have our coffee out there. We pulled the charcoal grill out onto the grassy area next to the bayou and grilled, fished, and just relaxed. It was awesome. The house is big, very nice and updated, with lots of common space so everyone can chill out inside too. Jason and Ashley were great at communicating with us leading up to the stay. I really don't think anything could have been better. Thanks Jason and Ashley!
We stayed in the houses for an LSU football weekend and New Orleans trip. Very well equipped and comfortable. Very peaceful.
My family and I stayed for the weekend to celebrate the birthdays of our 17yo and 14yo daughters. We brought along our 2 month old foster son, 13yo niece and my parents. Space was abundant. More than I imagined from the photos. It was very clean. Beds were comfortable. The master downstairs was large enough to accommodate us and baby with bassinet so no one was inconvenienced. The kitchen had everything we could need to prepare meals. Game room upstairs was very large. The girls all enjoyed the ping-pong table. The upstairs bedrooms are reportedly very comfortable. We did not make use of the kayak or the grill. The kids caught several catfish. The gators really start coming up close to dusk. Two fishing lines had to be cut because alligators grabbed. A sure sign that it was time to go in. Very nice little town. Friendly residents. We didn't take in any plantation tours and we did not eat out. Once we got there we had no interest in leaving until it was time to go home. We will very likely visit again. Highly recommend.
We had such a great week at your house and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. It was exactly as you described and more! We loved fishing right off the back yard/canal and the lake was beautiful. New Orleans was just an hour away but, when we were ready for peace and quiet, we just returned to the house and did whatever we wanted or nothing at all. It was wonderful to be so relaxed and lazy! The locals are super nice and always willing to recommend something or just chat. We had a fantastic stay and, if we ever get this way again, will definitely be back!
We set out on a family adventure to see the Louisiana Plantations and this beautiful home met our needs perfectly; what a wonderful, magical time we had on Tahiti Trail! It is very close to all the plantations on River Road and the setting on the bayou is just magical. We enjoyed feeling like we were out in the middle of nowhere yet very close to whatever we needed. Seeing the alligators swim in and out of the canal and my boys fishing in front of the house made for fun as we sipped our wine or coffee watching them from the back balcony. We expected mosquitos but hardly had any, did some great day trips and loved our time at the house. I'm a neat freak and was hoping for some cleaning supplies, especially a broom. We did not find it until we were walking out the door to leave in the master bedroom closet so we left it not as clean as I would have preferred.
FANTASTIC!! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We would awake each day well rested from a good night sleep on a comfortable bed. (One couple had to stay on the twin beds that were too short, but we knew that going in.) One couple had that master suite with a king bed, and the third couple had a queen bed. Then we would cook breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. The men would go fishing, right at the house with the poles and lures you left there for us. They were very excited. The women could sit downstairs, visit and watch for alligators, or sit on the balcony in comfortable chairs and bird watch using furnished binoculars. Several gators swam by every day, yet were not threatening in the least. There were Whooping Cranes, Pelicans, Owls, Great Blue Herons, and we even saw a Bald Eagle. We went to Oak Alley Plantation that was extremely beautiful. Along with other plantations that were very close. The Airboat Tours by Arthur recommendation you gave us for a swamp tour was one of the best things we did. Then when returning, we could park the five motorcycles right under the house. Evenings were quiet due to the seclusion. The house was absolutely perfect, the price was right, and our deposit was returned promptly. Thank you so much Jason and Ashley, we look forward to returning and would highly recommend it to everyone!
