I am a military officer and pilot as well as a real estate professional. I have extensive travel experience and understand the nuances associated with creating a comfortable and memorable experience in our nation's capitol.
Since being built in 1880 numerous Senators, Congressmen, artists, and academics have all resided at what is now Hill Flats.
The building was previously used as a lecture hall and residence for scholars conducting research at the Library of Congress which is across the street.
Incredible architecture and historic charm in an unbeatable location.
Beautiful clean apartment with easy access to all of the sights. equipped with all the amenities needed for a short or long stay. owners were easy to communicate with and were available for questions. Bed was very comfortable. 2 blocks from capitol building and supreme court, and 2 blocks from many dining establishments. would definitely stay again.
This is my new go to place in DC. You can't beat the location and the owner is super responsive. He's thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. It's safe, clean and well managed.
The location was great, we were able to walk to the monuments and the Capital. It was a short Uber ride to other activities. The downside of the apartment however were many, the bed was not very comfortable, the shower had almost no water pressure and took forever to heat up, at night the lights from outside kept the room bright and the noise from the street made it hard to sleep.
We loved the location in East Capital Hill with Capital Bikes station two blocks away. There was some street noise but we hardly noticed it. The ceiling fan was a nice touch and needed for the warm muggy DC fall. Negatives: Mattress and bedding were of poor quality; mattress made my back hurt (very soft) and sheets kept coming off mattress. It literally took 5-7 minutes of running the shower to get hot water and water pressure was not much more than a trickle.
This place has a great kitchen, bathroom and bed. The smart TV allowed me to use Hulu and Netflix, just like we do at home or we could watch a little regular cable, which we don't have. All the major sites and museums are within walking distance or a short uber. We loved the neighborhood and really felt like this was a great choice when visiting the area.
