Hill Flats DC is an owner managed luxury 1880 brownstone on the first residential block across the street from the Library of Congress and Folgers Shakespeare Theater. Just a short walk away you will have immediate access to the US Capitol, US Supreme Court, and The National Mall.
This is the ultimate location if you are looking for immediate walk-able access to all of Washington DC's historic sites.
The building is also just few blocks away from Eastern Market and Barracks Row. For public transportation the property is a short walk to Union Station and Capitol South Metro stops in addition to numerous bus lines.
There are dozens of restaurants, cafes, and bar's within a few minute walk. There is also a neighborhood grocery store around the corner. Capitol bike share is located nearby. Walkscore is 94.
The private apartment is on the third floor of a 4 unit historic 1880 building. The flat has been freshly remodeled and has a fully appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and marble bathroom tile. For your sleeping arrangements we have 1 queen size pillow top mattress bed, 1 Full size memory foam bed. We also have an additional queen size air mattress which is available upon request.
The unit comes with everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
This is one of the most charming and well preserved buildings on one of the most desired blocks in Washington DC.

Since being built in 1880 numerous Senators, Congressmen, artists, and academics have all resided at what is now Hill Flats. The building was previously used as a lecture hall and residence for scholars conducting research at the Library of Congress which is across the street.

Close to Capitol and Monuments and perfect for a family
This was an excellent property to stay at for a family vacation in DC. Is close to the capitol, national mall, museums. Good food nearby. Property is in great condition. Owner responds promptly to requests.

This is the perfect place to stay while in DC
This was a perfect location for us during our time in DC. It was well furnished and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The location was great. Everything is within walking distance. The information the owner posted about the neighborhood and what was around was very helpful. The owner immediately took care of the cable and internet problem when we called. I really can't say enough good things about our stay. We would plan to stay here again when traveling to Washington.
Superb location & accomodations
We had a wonderful time in Washington DC. The brownstone was close to everything - we were able to walk nearly everywhere. Comfortable beds, clean and accommodating. Easy check in & out allowed for flexible planning.
Wow what a location, great apartment too.
This brownstone could not be in a better place. Two blocks off the Capital Building, short walk to the Capital South Metro. From there you can basically get to anywhere in the city. Restaurants, bakery, Starbucks, market all two blocks away.
Gene was extremely responsive. He adjusted the thermostat remotely before we even asked. The place is clean, well furnished, and perfect for a vacation to the Capital. We walked to the museums and monuments. Rode the Metro to various places we didn't want to walk.
He also has a parking place available for reservation immediately out the back door. Which was very convenient.
Plenty of room for two adults and two kids. The kids slept on the pull out coach with no issues.
We stayed in the Penthouse, but I would recommend any of the units in this building that Gene has. Great place, great experience. I can't see my family staying in an hotel in DC when this place is available.
