This location is awesome. 4th and Pennsylvania Ave has many restaurants and a great large corner market. Stop by Tune Inn anytime of day for an adult beverage and full menu done right. Pret is located farther down the block and is a must stop at coffee shop with excellent grab and go hot and cold foods and top notch coffee.
Walk to the Capitol! Easy walk to Union Station! Eastern Market Metro is a 4 block walk. Bus stop on corner. Leave the car at home!
Other Things to Note
This house is a great place for family on vacation or folks traveling for business. It is not rented as a venue, a gathering place or a spot for your birthday party. There is a strict MAX occupancy of 10 people allowed on the property at any time.

Walk everywhere! No need for a car. Large kitchen and dining space to enjoy. Pickup fresh foods at Eastern Market and head back to the house for a family meal. Step out the door and enjoy many of the restaurants lined along Pennsylvania Ave.
There were 8 of us staying, and there was plenty of space for all. We enjoyed the convenient and central location of the house, and made use of the local shops/ restaurants.
The kitchen was well equipped, and everything in the house worked fine.
The house was amazing - it was large and there was plenty of space for everyone to lay out. There were four adults in our stay. There are 2 metro stops within a few blocks of the home and a bus stop right down the street. Plenty of excellent places to eat along the main street - the Mexican restaurant down the road was fantastic. There's also a farmer's market a few blocks down that you must go to; they had tons of food and other items for sale. Within walking distance of the Capitol and National Mall. We didn't have a car or bike so we walked everywhere. It made for sore feet at the end of every day, but it was doable.
The only downside was it being on the corner of a busy street. Most mornings it was extremely loud with traffic and workers working right outside in the alley. The floors were a little scary in some places; there were holes and it felt like they could give at any minute. We asked the handyman to come out and put new lights in one of the bedrooms as none were working, but that never happened.
Other than those few things, the stay was great, the house was fantastic and we would stay here again.
From the moment we arrived this house was perfect in every way! We've stayed in many Home Away properties in the past but this ranks up there with the best. Located in a quiet DC neighborhood a few blocks from the Library of Congress and all of the attractions of DC this is a perfect home away from home for a family. There were plenty of places to sleep and everyone got their own bedroom. The cable TV was wonderful and had plenty of channels to satisfy the adults and the kids which is important since much of DC is closed by 7:30 in the evenings. The kitchen and laundry facilities were wonderful and the owners even provided coffee and some staples to make cooking easy. There are tons of wonderful restaurants close by and even a post office around the corner. We, the Pizza and the Mexican restaurant around the corner were favorites for our family. Parking was simple with plenty of available space on the street. The owners met all of our expectations. Thank you for a wonderful stay and an opportunity to fulfill my dream to "live" in a brownstone. My husband asked if we were in the right house when we arrived...it was that nice. I will be recommending this rental to all of my friends and family that travel to the DC area. Thanks again. Stephanie
Easy walk to the Capitol and National Mall. Great small grocery store across the street along with restaurant and bars. Catch the bus on the corner of Pennsylvania Ave, or walk down to Eastern Market Metro. Union Station is 1 mile away for those arriving via train or bus.
