About Cory Cole

I am a wealth of knowledge when it comes to exploring our area, I am an avid outdoors-man, I camp, hike, bike, ski, snowshoe, ATV, motorcycle, snowmobile and Jeep nearly the entire U.P. and if you have heard of it, chances are I've been there, or done that. I also know some places 'off the radar' if you are looking to get away from the tourist areas. Just ask, I'll be happy to give you advice.

Cory Cole purchased this mobile home in 2015

Why Cory Cole chose Upper Peninsula Michigan

I manage this property for my friends Terry and Raelene. They purchased it in 2015 as a vacation rental. They really like to meet new people and share knowledge with them about the area. I own/manage 8 other properties here in AuTrain and have done so since 2009. Since that time, I have been providing people a great place to stay, and the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful area.

What makes this mobile home unique

This property is within 2 blocks of Lake Superior and the beach. It has a nice wooded lot that provides some seclusion and relaxation. There is river access across the street to launch a canoe or kayaks and paddle to Lake Superior.

Great for a get-a-way!

  • 3 of 5

The cabin was cozy and very warm, great heating as it warms up quickly. It's a very clean cabin and the manager, Cory, was awesome when it came to our needs! He helped us find the cabin when we were arriving late at night as our GPS could not locate the cabin. One of our issues was that the Internet was not working. If you absolutely need WIFI, this may not be the cabin for. We couldn't log on despite multiple attempts to restart the system. Also, the running water was yellow. Not sure it was safe to drink but it would have been nice to know that we needed to bring bottle water with us.

Enjoyed our stay!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful little woodland trailer! We spent a long weekend here with our dog. We all had a great time! The house is super clean inside, and well-stocked. The cookies were a nice touch! The owners were very friendly, and stopped in to make sure we had everything we needed. It's also very close to a GREAT beach that our dog loved running on, and is close to so many beautiful places.

The only down side we can think of were two short power outages, but we had two pretty bad wind storms so it was understandable. Maybe put some flash lights in the house, but we did just fine with flashlights on our phones.

It was clean and it felt more spacious than we were expecting for a mobile home.

It's proximity to Lake Superior, hiking trails, and the Pictured Rocks brought our group of 6 to this area. We were happy with the home and our experience in Upper Michigan.

Wonderful vacation!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Woodland Retreat very much. The owners were very nice and helpful. The place was clean, great location; just across the street was the boat landing site for the river and the wonderful sandy beach was just short walk away. Lots of opportunities for swimming, boating, fishing and more. I highly recommend this place.
