Lovely relaxing townhouse right overlooking Cowes Marina with fabulous views of the Solent beyond, situated right in the heart of Cowes. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, spacious sitting room and kitchen with huge window over marina. Flatscreen freeview TV's, Wifi, tasteful neutral decor, fully equipped to a very high standard. Shops, restaurants, pubs and marina all within a minutes walk!

The property is conveniently situated right in the heart of Cowes, with a secluded entrance in a small gated courtyard off the High Street. An old seamans residence, it was completely renovated to a high standard in 2007 and retains its character with some quaint sloping ceilings and floors. On 4 floors over a small shop at the front. A smart front door opens into an entrance hall with multiple coat hooks and shoe rack, continuing up a characterful winding stairway (not suitable for disabled or infirm) to the first floor, comprising the bright airy kitchen. Fully equipped with oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer, plenty of cupboard space, smart white china and fine glasses, and equipment to suit every eventuality, plus a drop leaf table which can accommodate 6 people, and fabulous views over the marina and harbour from the huge window.

The spacious sitting room has two comfy sofas and an ottoman, a wall-mounted flat screen freeview TV, DVD player, wifi connection, coffee table, plus a dining/computer table for 6 people, and full bookshelves. Stairs lead up to a large airy twin (could be triple) bedroom, with wardrobe and chest of drawers. Onward to a bunk bedroom with fantastic views over the marina and Solent. Chest of drawers and hanging rail. Also on this floor is a bathroom with spacious shower bath with glass screen, loo and basin, plenty of shelves, towel rails and hooks. Stairs lead up to the master bedroom, with velux window and fabulous views over the marina and Solent. Can be a large double, or twin beds. Wall mounted flatscreen freeview TV. Chest of drawers, spacious shelving and hanging space. Leading into a spacious bathroom with luxuriously large shower, large basin area and loo, plus more shelving.

The property is conveniently situated right on Cowes High Street - which is closed to traffic during the day and restricted at night. Great if you like to be in the centre of the action!

About Will & Fiona Headington

We moved to the Isle of Wight about 16 years ago, (from the home counties) and ran a couple of sailing clothing shops in Cowes - T&G Clothing and Murphy & Nye - for many years. Now we run Holiday lets - here in Cowes and a Treehouse and Shepherds Huts in Whippingham nearby. We just love it here, and so do our children who were subsequently born here. The pace of life is much less hectic, there are so many lovely things to do, and you are always in reach of the sea the moment the sun comes out !

Why Will & Fiona Headington chose Isle of Wight

The house is a very old, quaint little seamans residence, it has probably been here for hundreds of years, judging by the sloping floors ! ( Which we have had completely underpinned during a big renovation project in 2007, don't worry !)

What makes this house unique

It really is in such a great location, right in heart of the little harbour town of Cowes, a stone's throw from the marina, a great selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. Our kids just love staying there, feeling they are right in the middle of all the action, yet in a safe haven !

The views over the marina and the Solent are lovely, as are the gentle seaside sounds of the masts, etc.

We arrived at about 2pm yesterday and was really pleased with the house. It is spacious yet cosy. It has been decorated in such a way that is very relaxing. Just what we needed. The location is great and handy with Sainsburys and Co-Op so close and parking is not a problem. I will not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Its perfect! :-)

We had a lovely weekend away in Cowes, the accommodation was just right for us. It slept 7 adults comfortably. It was central to everything we wanted. It was lovely spread over 3 floors. We would recommend this property to anyone.

Very pleasant & convenient

Beautiful property with both a bathroom and ensuite shower room so we were all very happy with that! The location was brilliant: just a stone's throw from the ferry and local bus terminals, as well as local foodstores, so very convenient in terms of getting around and for self-catering. Loved the views out to the harbour. Would thououghly recommend it here!

Brilliant hosts and a great location

We had a lovely holiday in Fiona and Will's holiday home in Cowes. Though small, it was clean and very nicely decorated, with personal touches such as beautiful sailing prints on the walls throughout the property. It was brilliantly situated in the centre of the high street and we enjoyed browzing the shops and restaurants nearby. Fiona and Will were 100% kind and helpful before and during our stay. They were happy to answer any question, gave quick and thoughtful answers, and didn't mind extra requests. They really helped make our holiday a success.

Weekend Family Stay

We enjoyed our stay at 118 High St which met our needs. Excellently maintained and clean property. Steepness of initial staircase not suitable for elderly! but we enjoyed the experience. Excellent views across the marina which made one feel on holiday. Helped make a stressful weekend less stressed!

Relaxing family holiday

We had a simply lovely one week here. We are a family with 2 small children and this flat was an ideal base to explore the island.

The flat is in very good condition and has been refurbished to a high standard. It is so central in Cowes it is incredible. You are right in the heart of it yet when you close the door you can be in your own world.

There are good walks and cycle paths close by and the view of the boats and ferries kept my 5 year old entertained no end.

It is perfect for people who come across to the island without a car!! There is no parking attached and you have to battle to find a spot close by. Don't be put off by this though.

I think I went to all the pubs in Cowes central and got a real feel for the nautical heritage. The owners are close by if needed and I can thoroughly recommend this for a short or long break.

The historic yachting mecca of Cowes is a great place to explore. In the summer there are numerous sailing regattas to watch. The pedestrianised and quaint High Street hosts many lovely shops, pubs and restaurants. All year round it is lovely to stroll along the seafront, continuing on to beach walks towards the village of Gurnard. Cowes also makes a great base to explore the Isle of Wight
