The apartment is in a charming 19 century converted stable block originally built around 1850. Set in a beautiful and pleasant wooded Glen, a wildlife reserve, with a nice small pond and a water stream.

Located 2 Minutes walk from the prestigious Drumtochty Castle, a wedding venue.

Forest paths and marked cycle route for 12.4 miles are in the doorstep. 2 miles from the pleasant Auchenblae rural village.

We are a retired couple that love nature, love travelling and love people.

I was a teacher and my husband was a software engineer.

In one of our weekend tours in the area of The Castle Stables, we just fall in love with all- the peaceful forest and the sounds of nature. We have decided to buy the flat and make it special for holiday makers so they can enjoy the special remote and peaceful location.

We just fall in love with the building and the location. A perfect place for holiday, for people who works in the area of Aberdeen and for families that wants to stay in a flat and feel like home.

What makes this apartment unique

In the middle of a forest surrounded with a stream, near a lovely pond.

Two minutes walk from Drumtochty Castle, from forest walks and so close to Dunnottar Castle, to Stonehaven beach and Harbour, close to golf courses, close to Castles and much more.

Great weekend helped fantastic weather. Aberdeen beach beautiful in sun shine. The early morning start to do Safari at Balmoral was well worth it.

Peaceful Getaway

We loved the location in the woods and enjoyed many strolls around the area. It was in easy driving distance to many places, and the restaurant recommendations were very helpful. The home was comfortable and inviting. Thanks for providing brochures for things to do in the area. My only suggestion is better directions on getting there. When we put the postal code in, it took us up a dirt road, (although there was a more direct paved road we discovered on our explorations) thru someone's property, but we did get to see some majestic deer and were surprised to also see the bison on that drive. Would highly recommend this getaway!

Auchenblae Golf Course - A well maintained, nine hole course situated in the spectacular landscape surrounding the village of Auchenblae.

Stonehaven Golf Course - Stonehaven Golf Club lies on the Braes of Cowie, overlooking the North Sea and Stonehaven town. The course also provides stunning views of the North Sea, of Stonehaven Bay and the town itself, and of the ancient fortress of Dunnottar Castle. Porpoises, dolphins and seals can often be seen in the bay.

Wildlife at North Drumtochty - North Drumtochty is very popular with walkers and cyclists and has a great range of forest habitats, from mature 100 year old trees and dense forest to wildlife ponds, and from long Forest Trails to short walks and picnic areas.

Although roe deer are seen here more commonly, red deer are regularly spotted. Roe deer bucks cast their antlers in late autumn/early winter, and grow new antlers during January.
