Nice and well located cottage

  • 4 of 5

We've spent a week in the cottage, and all has been as expected. The cottage itself is very well located, allowing many visits in the area and in a short car-drive, and the facilities fullfilled our expectations. All what we needed was available, the indications to arrive to the place were clear and so our arrival was easy, and once we arrived we felt at home. We also enjoyed a lot the garden and our childs played a lot, as we had a great luck of having a fantastic weather (with little rain just for an afternoon) and we also had opportunity to do a barbeque!. In resume, a great place to stay to discover the fantastic Higlands.

Clean and comfortable cottage, fantastic location.

  • 4 of 5

Loved the location of this cottage. Beautiful walks from the door and there is a lochside beach 2 minutes away, which our dogs loved and we had to ourselves all week.

The cottage itself is spacious, clean and well equipped. It could possibly do with a few more homely touches..such as curtains at windows instead of just blinds but that is being picky.!!!

Lovely cottage, Beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cottage in a really beautiful place. We have to come back during the summer. Our nine year old daughter loved it too and was delighted to have her own bathroom. So were we ! Two bathrooms meant no waiting for her to get out. We all really enjoyed the walks and in particular the nearby Falls of Foyers and of course Loch Ness. We had a great meal at the Dores Inn (10 minutes drive away). Skoorah was very clean and had everything we needed (the kitchen is better equipped than my own !). Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic :)

Great accommodation truly loved it & thought about not leaving . So tranquil & Karma (The furry child) loved all the new sites & smells on her walks . Only one concern no outside lighting for when we had come back after night time walks , but this is a minor thing . I hope that we got all the Karma hairs before we left as the property was clean for us arriving xx . We will definantley be booking to come back again . Derek Geri N Karma

Owner's Response: Dear Derek and Geri - thanks so much for the great review. We're delighted you had a such an enjoyable stay and that everything was clean and just what you needed. Yes - you left Skoorah in perfect condition, for which many thanks ! You should have let us know about the outside light. It only needed a new bulb - we'd have put it right straightaway. Now fixed. But pleased to hear this was the only issue. Delighted to read you want to come back - yes - it is a wonderfully relaxing, picturesque place to stay. Many thanks for your visit and we're delighted Karma had fun too. with best wishes - Turan

Lovely stay

  • 5 of 5

Nice relaxing time at cottage. Well equipped & loved the fire. It was so cozy. Only snag was no lights at front door or outside patio doors & a curtain or blinds on patio would of made it more cozy.

Pleasant stay & would return.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the wonderful review Ian. We're delighted you and your family loved Skoorah and found it cosy, relaxing and well-equipped. We have tried to think of everything guests might need. Sorry the outside light had stopped working - if you'd let us know we'd have had it fixed immediately. Now done. And the blinds were away for cleaning - now back. Hope to welcome you back sometime and many thanks for your booking. best wishes - Turan

Skoorah is in the village of Errogie in the unspoilt, sparsely populated South Loch Ness area with many woodland, mountain and loch side walks starting from the front door. Within a few minutes of Skoorah there are many other lochs, mountains and forests to explore. The wildlife will also amaze you with much to be spotted in the woodland from the windows or decking at Skoorah including dozens of bird species, regular sightings of red and sika deer, pine martens, pheasants, osprey, woodpeckers, red squirrels, bats and at night you are guaranteed to hear the occasional owl. Golden eagles have also been seen and the nearby Loch Ruthven is an impressive bird reserve. Dolphin watching is guaranteed from Chanonry Point on the Black Isle, a 40 minute drive away. Skoorah is an ideal base for touring everything the Highlands have to offer.

Red squirrels and pine martens populate the nearby Farigaig forest which stretches along south Loch Ness, and covers several thousand acres.
