Holiday Home in Lucca province with Pool

In the heart of the Garfagnana, in the province of Lucca, can be found the newly built Gialla Casciana, a two bedroom property with garden, covered eating area and good sized private pool. The house is within walking distance of a small ancient village and only a couple of minutes in the car to a larger village with all facilities

This is a good opportunity to have a holiday with toal privacy, yet at a reasonable price.

The house is situated all on one level and has a well equipped open plan living /kitchen/diner, with all facilities. The kitchen boasts a washing machine, dishwasher, oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave. In the living area there is a CD player and DVD player. There are also two bedrooms - one double and one twin and a bathroom with tub and separate shower cubicle.

Outside there is a good size garden and at the back of the house, a covered eating area, leading up to decked pool of 10M x 5M , with views of the mountains beyond.

Fantastic villa in amazing location

The villa is wonderful. Amazing location in the hills, fantastic pool and outdoor space, comfortable traditional interior. Everything you need in the kitchen to prepare Tuscan meals. Piazza Al Serchio is within walking distance with good amenities, supermarket and train station. Local food and wine is superb and very good value. We cannot wait to return.

Peace and quiet in the Tuscan mountains

We spent a month enjoying this lovely retreat and using it as a base for occasional trips to other parts of Tuscany. It is quite remote, about half a mile from the nearest small village but we could hear the neighbours chickens sometimes, though we couldn’t see them. A car is essential, there are lots of interesting and beautiful places to visit within a 15mile radius but significantly the local railway station is only 10 minutes away by car and Tuscany is then your oyster. The villa is will equipped, although basic, gas stove, electric water heating and lighting and a wonderful fire necessary in the late September evenings. The owner, Paolo, was contactable and very anxious and prompt to help in any way he could, for example when the internet failed he solved the problem within a few hours. We were invited to help ourselves to the wonderful produce in the garden attached to the villa. The house sits by the side of a quiet road in a chestnut forest, it’s close to nature but also close to lots of history and the railway to wherever you’d like to be in Tuscany.

Perfect peace!

The house was perfectly situated, contained everything we needed and was immaculately clean and well presented. We met Renato, who made it clear he was there if needed, but completely respected our privacy. We had the most fabulous time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!

Idyllic setting

We stayed for a week at this villa after a hectic few days in Pisa, Florence and Lucca and the peace and tranquility in comparison was wonderful. There was some confusion upon arrival which Lorraine and the owner were very quick to sort out. We walked up the hill to the bar in Casciana which was only about ½ a mile away, and the owners Maria and Franco made us feel very welcome, even though they couldn't speak a word of English, in fact they made us a lovely home-made meal on 2 x occasions without the need for a menu !! All the locals here were very friendly. We also ventured downhill to Piazza Al Serchio for the local market on Tuesday morning (about 1.2 miles) and bought some of the delicious chicken and chips which was very satisfying after the hot climb back. We ate at a few of the restaurants here over the week, most of which only seemed to do pizza. We had a few trips out to local villages which had magnificent views, particularly San Romano and the fort at Verrucole, Barga and the Chiesa at Gramolazzo which is quite difficult to find. Quiet and secluded

The villa is nestled on a very quite road that brings great privacy and fabulous night skies. The villa was spacious and had the essentials. You do need a car to benefit most from visiting the surrounding sights and doing the shopping due to its remoteness and hilliness! We walked into Piazza Al Serchio a few times and had a good value and tasty meal at the pizzeria, we also got the train to Lucca for a day out which was very straight forward with a regular service. We have been to the area before and it is very pretty and everyone was friendly. Was a great break away reading, eating and sleeping!
