About the property

Cozy, Riverside Cabin Offering A Relaxing Mountain Getaway

Cozy, secluded cabin overlooking the North Fork of the Cache La Poudre River. Aptly named “Riversong Refuge” the music of the river creates a peaceful setting for a truly relaxing mountain getaway. Nestled among the aspen, conifers, subalpine meadows, and stunning rock formations, this is the perfect romantic rendezvous, fisherman’s escape, outdoorsman’s delight, or meditation/yoga retreat. Listen to the river while watching the sunrise and sunset from the covered porch while sipping your morning coffee or favorite nighttime beverage. Fly fish for trout just steps from the cabin, or drive a few minutes to one of the many nearby ponds and lakes to catch your dinner. Cook your meals on the outdoor grill and enjoy it on the picnic table streamside, or prepare your meals in the cabin’s fully appointed kitchen and dine inside while watching the water flow by. Watch the stars while roasting marshmallows in the fire pit located at the river’s edge.

The quaint 640 square foot rustic cabin was remodeled in 2017 and offers a full kitchen, dining area, 2 bedrooms (queen bed; kid-sized bunk beds) perfect for a couple or small family (we can only accommodate 2 adults and up to 2 children). Enjoy a fire in the wood stove during cooler temperatures and watch movies or read a favorite book in one of the several cozy sitting areas. A ¾ bath provides all the modern conveniences with a brand new shower with sliding glass doors.

Wildlife abounds and moose, deer, marmots, and chipmunks may often be seen. You will laugh over the antics of hummingbirds (we provide a feeder for your use). Access to national forest is just a short walk along the river’s edge. Take a stroll along the many trails of Crystal Lakes or mountain bike the miles of dirt roads or old logging roads. Bring your kayak or canoe to enjoy the waters of Crystal Lake. For those with a more adventurous side, take a whitewater trip on the nearby Poudre River, or hike the numerous trails of the Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest.

About Riversong Refuge, LLC

Our family has been coming to Crystal Lakes for over a decade. We first purchased a plot of land 5 years ago, and just recently upgraded to this glorious cabin along the river. The wildlife and mountain setting are spectacular and relatively undiscovered and have provided many family memories. My son learned to fly fish on the North Fork and proudly remembers his first 14 in trout caught right in front of the cabin, which is one of his favorite fishing holes.

Riversong Refuge, LLC purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Riversong Refuge, LLC chose Crystal Lake

The riverside setting is spectacular, as is the aspen, meadows, and rock outcroppings. We love this wild stretch of the North Fork, which is just a 5 minute walk from National Forest lands. Located near the end of a cul-de-sac makes for added privacy.

What makes this cabin unique

The North Fork of the Cache La Poudre River is our favorite place to play and relax. It is a lovely river and provides great fly fishing. Walking along the river over the years we have seen mink, bobcat, moose, deer, elk, weasel, dippers, goshawk, great horned owls, and many other birds. Lovely wildflowers including shooting star, calypso orchid, and of course columbine dot the forest bordering the river.

Great cabin! Awesome hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

We were so impressed with our stay. The cabin owner was phenomenal to work with, a very quick and clear communicator, and was extremely accommodating. The cabin was extremely cozy and was fully stocked with DVDs and board games. It was also in a perfect location to go for hikes in the neighborhood or in the general vicinity. But if you didn't want to leave the property, you could enjoy the river and the view from the comfort of the cabin!

Lovely getaway

Nicely furnished, quiet cabin by river. We didn't see any fish but we did see some birds, a mother deer and fawn and lots of stars!

Excellent. Relaxing. Inspiring.

The owner definitely went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. We especially appreciated the maps highlighting the river trail and the trail to Black Mountain.

Beautiful location and property

  • 5 of 5

The place has great view of creek and some rocks. We sat out and saw deer and moose.

We hiked to black mountain in the area and it was beautiful, we didn't see another person. We also did a day hike to blue lake in Rawah. That was the most beautiful mountain lake i've seen... it's a tough day hike if you aren't used to altitude so bring extra water.

The bed was comfortable and all details were there. Tasha's directions were great and everything we needed was there.

The roads are mostly dirt for about 10 miles around the property so buck up to get a 4 wheel drive rental. We did a truck and were very glad we did.

I would go back.

Perfect Mountain Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 had a great time staying at this property! It had everything we needed and enough space for me, my wife, and our two boys. We are able to hike and fish right out the back door. Overall we had a wonderful time at the cabin and it was the perfect retreat. We would definitely come back!
