New to the rental market, Cozy Corner is a 2/2 home located just two blocks from beautiful Saint Joseph Bay. All local shopping and restaurants are within walking or biking distance. Access to The Port St. Joe scenic jogging/bike trail is right down the street.
Beaches are only minutes away in either direction. You can drive to Windmark Beach in 5 minutes, or either Cape San Blas or Mexico Beach in 15 minutes.
Historic Apalachicola is about 25 minutes away.
Sheets and towels are provided. The kitchen is also fully stocked, including but not limited to pots/pan, cooking utensils, small appliances, silverware, glassware, crockpot, etc.
We also strive to start all of our guests out with toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, hand soaps, dish soap, laundry detergent, and garbage bags.
There is also a beach bin located at the house with beach chairs, rafts, and a beach umbrella for you to use during your stay.
There are many local attractions for you to enjoy while staying in Port Saint Joe. Horseback riding on the beaches of Cape San Blas, Scalloping in the bay, Parasailing in Mexico Beach. Come see what the forgotten coast has to offer!
This is a hidden gym in an ideal location, with great rates! All the necessary beach essentials are already here at the house, so there is very little to pack. Our family loves being 15 minutes from Mexico City Beach going west and 20 minutes away from Apalachicola going east. Being in the middle allows us the opportunity to enjoy a variety of things throughout the week and keeps the family from being to bored. Some of our adventures include taking bike rides in town, drive over the giant bridge to have lunch at St. George Island state park, Mexico City Beach (Banana boat, jet ski, and lunch at Toucans over looking the ocean), and night crab hunting at Cape San Blas. We also have a tradition of spending our last day of vacation hanging in Panama city(1hr away), riding go-karts, playing putt putt and eating at Pineapple Willie's(kids favorite spot). The location and the money we save staying here allows our family of 6, enjoy a full week of entertainment without breaking the bank!
This is for sure a cozy cottage. Very nice well decorated, and in a nice subdivision. The beds slept well. The only thing is the town closes down at 5 and not many places to eat. I did not find the locals very friendly at all. If you are looking for a place to go fishing this is your spot. If the beach is what you are looking for then you need to drive down to St Joe Beach and Mexico Beach about 10 miles up the road on 98 like going to PCB. While here I visited Cape San Blas which is beautiful but nothing but beach houses and one small store. Indian Pass was more like a fishing village only one small convenience store. If quiet and just ocean you might want stay at CSB. Best cheese burger ever was at Apalachicola, this was by far my favorite little town. Nice little shops, friendly folks, pet friendly, and had lots of food choices. Mexico Beach gave you the most beach feel of all the towns, restaurants along the beach, shops and beautiful white sandy beaches, but not pet friendly beaches. St Joe beach is pet friendly and is right next to it. Over all the cottage suited my purpose to go look to see if this is a place I would like to retire. There truly is a reason this is called the forgotten coast.
Currently in the midst of a 7 day stay and enjoying this nice little house. It is a older cottage style home in a residential area of Port St Joe. It was clean and neat as a pin on our arrival. The rental is pet friendly and our 12 yr old lab is happy because she can see us form her favorite spot on the rug in front of the fireplace. The two bedrooms are small with double beds but are quite comfortable. The bathroom in the house is small but has a very good tub/shower combo with excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is a trundle bed in the living room with a curtain to separate it from the rest of the area if needed for extra persons. The kitchen could do with a little updating but had everything needed to prepare food and serve it on the large table. The only problem we had was with the very confusing thermostat. Fortunately, the property manager Elizabeth was able to control the thing with her phone. She is wonderful to work with, by the way. Enjoying our stay very much. Walking distance (3 blocks) to the town and it's restaurants.
Was a great place to stay and would rent this location again. Beds and pillows were comfortable.
We stayed here (with our dog) for 5 weeks this winter and thoroughly enjoyed the home, the neighborhood and the town. Cozy Corner is aptly named as it is very cozy and very comfortable. The house is very well stocked with everything you need to make this "home away from home". We found the beds to be very comfortable with very high quality linens. Both of the bathrooms are clean, well maintained and very functional. The only caveat is the second bathroom - off the enclosed mud room/back porch area is not heated but it was not a big deal for us - a space heater would easily resolve. The kitchen has everything from muffin pans to water pitchers to strainers to pizza cutters, etc. We used the central heat on a few of the chillier mornings and it worked perfectly - warmed up the home very quickly. We used the gas grill and the back yard nearly every day. The property gets sunshine in the back in the morning and in the front in the afternoon so if you seek sun - you got it - if you seek shadier space - you have that too. The town bike trail and open field across the street from the house is GREAT for dog walking and/or people walking and bike riding. It takes just a few minutes to walk to the main shopping area of PSJ (Reid Street) from Cozy Corner and also just a few minutes to walk to the marina and gulf front park. As others have said here the town is very small and very quaint. There are quite a few wonderful restaurants - just a few are Joe Mama's for pizza, Provisions for more upscale, Thirsty Goat (at the Port Inn) for really good breakfast buffet for only $7.50 per person and Sunset Coastal Grill has great views and good food. There are also a couple of fun coffee shops in town - No Name and Bin 4-11 (which also sells wine). If you are looking for a comfortable and lovely spot for some fun, some relaxation with lots of options for outside activities at a reasonable price Cozy Corner is the place for you. (Keep in mind this home is in a residential neighborhood with most homes owner occupied so it is not "resorty" in case that is what you are looking for) Try it - we are sure you will like it. We loved it!
My fiancé and I stayed here with our Boston Terrier over New Years. The property was located just a few blocks from the waterfront and one street over from a beautiful walking/biking trail that ran throughout the town. The home was well equipped with everything that we needed, especially the kitchen. There was also a huge movie/DVD library for those days when we didn't feel like leaving the house. The town is extremely small, but perfect for a quiet vacation, and it is only a short drive (about 15 minutes) to Cape San Blas.
House has been nicely renovated and is charmingly decorated. Kitchen is big and well equipped. Loved the lighted vanity in the hall. We visited in the winter, however, and felt cold all the time. Thermostat kept resetting to a lower temperature until manager set it to stay on 74 but even then we shivered all the time. The large newer bathroom with walk-in shower was not heated, which was a real disappointment for my husband. We had to buy a shower chair so he could use the other bath. The shower there had very poor water pressure but the handyman did fix it. Most of the older upholstered furniture, though clean, was very uncomfortable because it was too low for anyone with knee problems. Beds were placed up against the wall so only one person could sleep in each. My mattress was really saggy and hurt my back. There was almost no laundry detergent for the washer. There was no directory of local shops or restaurants.
