Tutu's Place is a beautiful, PRIVATE, beachfront home on a huge, white, sandy beach. See world class surfing right outside your door!

'Tutu's Place' is located beachfront on Oahu's famous North Shore. This hideaway is located on a quiet section of beach about halfway between Waimea Bay and Pipeline. Tired of crowded beaches? Ours is often deserted.

This is no resort, just a beautiful and clean home for you to enjoy the hidden Hawaii. The house is the only structure on the large property and you will be its only residents. You will not be sharing your beachfront vacation with any other guests, residents, or property manager.

Your house is located literally steps (about 6) from the beach on a large lot at the end of the street. This property has no neighbors on one side and a quiet neighbor on the other side a comfortable distance away. You'll never feel crowded at this special home. Spectacular surfing, windsurfing, kite boarding, kayaking, fishing, snorkeling in the summer, awesome humpback whale watching in the winter, or just playing on the huge beach is right out your front door!

Tutu's Place has a large attached covered lanai (deck) overlooking the beach, 3 full size bedrooms, 1 full bath with shower, Master bath with shower and tub, and a 3rd full bath with shower serving the downstairs BBQ area. This special home has a large living room with hardwood floors and an open beam redwood ceiling which opens to the lanai, dining area, and full kitchen. The Master bedroom has a King size bed, the Queen bedroom has a Queen-sized bed, and the Twin room has two twin beds that can be pushed together if desired.

Wonderful sweeping views of the beach and waves!

  • 4 of 5

My three teenagers and I had such a nice spring break at Tutu's Place! It was just as we expected from the listing (minus a palm tree and a grill, and plus a nice table and chairs on the lanai), although the photos don't really do justice to the view. Oh my goodness that turquoise water, those waves, those sunsets!

The neighborhood is nice and quiet, and the few people on the beach never seemed to be aware of us, even when we were on the lanai (which we often were). The house is nicely kept and has great character, but it does have a bit of a rustic feel. Meaning it isn't the place for people who are accustomed to hermetically sealed hotel rooms. Guests here will be connected to nature, whether it's the daylight, the soft ocean breeze, the humid island air, the crashing surf, the beautiful tropical birds, the wandering chickens (including the occasional, ahem, enthusiastic rooster) or the colorful, harmless geckos. Everywhere but the lanai and master bedroom there is noise from the road, but it's just through-traffic, not an intersection where people stop and then loudly accelerate. With only the breeze (and lots of fans) for cooling we had the windows open most of the time, but since they are the jalousie kind they don't block out the noise even when closed. We loved listening to the surf though, and when we returned home we all had a hard time getting to sleep because it was too quiet!

Don't be put off by the toilet paper thing; I think that's just to protect the septic system from people who typically aren't conscious of how much they use, which is understandable. We found the kitchen and bathrooms to be well-stocked, and the sheets and towels were good-quality. There's a big grassy yard around three sides of the house and easy access to the beach. The location really is perfect, close to Foodland and the food trucks and a short drive from Haleiwa, and a short walk to Keiki beach one way and Pipeline the other. Our first two days had really nice surf so we got to watch about 15 very skilled surfers, including at least one young professional who we heard lives nearby, right out back. We didn't use the tv but the wifi was excellent and we had no trouble setting and disarming the alarm. Wendy was very responsive when we had questions. A special place!

Great Location, but needs a good cleaning

  • 2 of 5

We were a group of 8 adults (all over age 50). We stayed at this property for 7 nights. 1/26 thru 2/2/18. Loved the location. This property needs some attention. We had many unwelcomed visitors!

Geckos in kitchen cabinets, and in closet with bedding and towels. Stained bedding, towels! From Geckos??? Lots of ants in kitchen and bathrooms. One very LARGE roach in living room. With all the unwanted pests it made it hard to get comfortable! This home needs a good cleaning! I took many photos and sent them to Wendy. She apologized and offered to send out an exterminator. They also need to get new cleaning people, because alot of this home has been neglected! (Thick mold in refrigerator seal, very dirty light fixtures, smelly pillows, etc...) It would also be nice if they would trim the bushes for the beach access so when walking thru that area you don't have to push branches out of your way to get thru to the beach. I guess all I can say at this point is great location, but because it was so uncomfortable we will never stay at this property again :(

Owner's Response: Our house is serviced on a monthly basis by a certified pest control company. Guests must remember that Hawaii does have some "unwelcome guests"!! While we do our best to keep these to a minimum, geckos, etc. are part of our world! We replace our bedding, towels, etc. on a regular basis. Our house is located in one of the most beautiful places and all we want is for our guests to fall in love with the north shore as we have. If any matters are brought to my attention, I guarantee they will be addressed!

Beachfront, Beachfront, Beachfront !!

  • 5 of 5

The home is everything it promises to be, the location couldn't be better. We walked many places with ease. The waves lulled us to sleep at night and our morning coffee was amazing with that beautiful view. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. The washer and dryer were top notch. There were also beach chairs, toys, cooler, etc as described. I suggest to the owners that they replace the bed sheets (they are well used and thinning), the pillows (they are quite stained) and the brooms (they were very worn). We had 6 adults in our party, we never ran out of hot water and the towels were nice and thick.

Unforgettable Hawaiian BEACH-HOUSE Paradise Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My family & I had the most memorable time at this beach house. We truly enjoyed this house located directly on the beach, it was truly a dream come true. The house was extremely roomy, clean, extremely private, very quiet, and tranquil, yet hearing the waves made it calming and relaxing. All the amenities made this trip a sure PLUS + and this beautiful beach house makes us want to come back soon to experience an Aloha vacation all over again. Steps to the beach and amazing surfing right at Log Cabins, a known popular surf break for the boys to surf day in and day out including beautiful long white sand beaches along the coast. Wonderful sunset views every single day. A vacation that will never be forgotten!

Location

Activities include world class surfing, whale watching, hiking along the coast and in the mountains to one of the most spectacular and accessible waterfalls on the island & being a beach bum!, There is also a manicured bike path which runs right past the house and takes you anywhere along the entire length of the North Shore, For the snorkeling or diving enthusiast, there is an excellent underwater marine preserve with lots of fish, turtles, and other marine life less than a 10 minute walk down the bike path or the road, The house is located about a 10 minute walk along the beach or shady bike path from the famous "Bonsai Pipeline", We are also a comfortable walking distance down the bike path from the North Shore's largest grocery store, Starbucks coffee shop, and the North Shore farmers market held every weekend, At the farmers market you will find an excellent selection of locally grown produce, foods, and crafts
