About the property

Versatile riverfront home with beautiful views and optional guest cottage

This exceptional property offers unobstructed views of the Hudson River, Catskill Mountains and Rondout Lighthouse and is truly a one size fits all accommodation. There are a number of outdoor spaces for dining, lounging or simply enjoying the sunset on one of the rockers. The main house offers three bedrooms and two full baths and comes with the detached writer's studio which can serve as an additional bedroom, allowing for parties of up to eight people. For additional space, there is a guest cottage which may be added to your rental of the main house at an additional fee*. This property combines the beautiful offerings of the scenic Hudson Valley with fine, stylish interior luxuries and comforts.

The guest cottage carries the air of a loft-like, studio-style home. There is a separate bedroom complete with a queen-sized bed in addition to the king-sized bed in the main room. The many sky lights complete the lofty atmosphere letting in plenty of natural light, and the sunset over the river is not to be missed. Enjoy this breathtaking event while lounging in the brand new patio space, designed with sights such as this in mind.

Quotes calculated by VRBO/Homeaway are for the Main House and Writer's Studio only. The Guest Cottage is not factored into the quoted rates as that unit is optional. If you would like to add the Guest Cottage to your rental of the main house, please let us know and we will update the rates, as broken down below, to the quote provided by VRBO/Homeaway.

* Optional Guest Cottage Rental Rate (will be added to the main house rental rates):

$250/Night (April, May, November & December)

$300/Night (June, July, August, September, October and Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year Holidays)

There is an additional $150 Cleaning Fee for the Guest Cottage

Perfect snowy getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house overlooking the Hudson, well appointed with a nice Wolf range on a quiet street despite being so close to the train and town, which was great. Brought our Husky up to escape the city for a snowy weekend in the country and this was the perfect place to do it. The writer's cottage is such a nice little extra, my wife and I slept in there the last night of our stay and it was beautiful.

Gorgeous Home Two Blocks from the Train Station!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this beautiful home. The central house has an amazing flow, with a separate living room and dining room, both right off of the kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with any item needed to cook an amazing meal - with a professional grade range! The writer's house is so cozy, and the train is not too loud when inside. The additional guest cottage is absolutely beautiful as well! Every detail in these three buildings was clearly thought out with care. So much so, that it would be difficult to pick a single favorite space. The views are wonderful and calming, and the town is nice and quiet. I would recommend this home to anyone, and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home! Hope to come back soon!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this home over the holidays and we had a wonderful stay! It's a great place for a large group and the location is phenomenal. The house has beautiful river views and we were within a few minutes walking distance to a few restaurants and the train. Plus, the town center is just a 10-minute drive away. The kitchen was well equipped with all the supplies we needed to make a meal (plates, cups, pots, pans, utensils, etc).

The property manager was very responsive. We had a small issue with the heat and she sent someone over within the hour on Christmas Eve. All of my correspondence was answered immediately and our booking process was stress-free.

The house was also impeccably clean and tastefully decorated! We also loved the guesthouse (perhaps even a bit more than the main house). It's set a bit higher up on the property so the views are wonderful and it's a very cozy and fun.

Just a few side notes: The "writer's cottage" does not have a bathroom - you must cross the street and use the one in the main house. For this reason, no one in our party of 9 was willing to sleep there (at risk of having to use the bathroom in middle of the night) even though it's very pretty. Also, there are very steep steps leading up to the guesthouse so it's not a great lodging option for older people or anyone who has trouble with walking or stairs.

I highly recommend booking this property! We hope to return soon.

The property was amazing. Well designed, great views.

We had my daughter's 13 birthday party and were there with family and friends. Girls stayed in the loft, grown ups in the main house and our babysitter in the cabin. We couldn't have had more fun or a better experience.

Completely Satisfied...ready to book again

  • 5 of 5

Second time renting a property managed by this duo and both times have been great! House was clean and as pictured. The additional guest house is nearly as large as the main house so you have great spaces to hang out in (if you rent both). Beds are comfortable, location is close to train so no car needed, and kitchen provided nearly we needed for large group meals. Only drawback is the size of the living room is small but if weather is good then you won't find yourself inside that much. Outdoor space is absolutely clutch.

Quick Notes:

1. Note on the noise from passing trains is true but majority of group did not notice.

2. As listed the Studio guest space does not have a bed room, but also the space is across the road. The view is the trade off for those that land in this space. :)

3. Property is within town limits so no outdoor fire place

4. Property Managers are quick to respond and friendly

Home in Rhinebeck, NY

  • 4 of 5

Home was neat, clean and up-to-date. First impression was that pix on VRBO were misleading as far as close proximity to other homes. Home had nowhere to hang clothes in main-floor Master BR. Kitchen had no dishcloths, only one dish towel. Not enough for several day stay. Rip in back door screen allowed lots of bugs to enter home. Could've used more than two chairs on front porch for six people. Five minute walk to train station was handy. Overall, beautiful home, location and view for our train ride visit to NYC, and great restaurants in nearby town.
