We currently live in New Prague, MN but vacation in the Brainerd Lakes area frequently. We own another lake home on Pelican Lake which we use for our family and this cabin which we rent out.

We loved this cabin from the first time we saw it. Lake O'Brien is a beautiful lake and one of the clearest lakes in the area. Directly across the lake from the cabin is Minnesota DNR land, so that property will remain undeveloped. We think you'll like Lake O'Brien as much as we do.
Loved this cabin on the lake -- it has all the amenities and everything you need for a cabin stay on the lake. It is very clean and well maintained. The owner is really nice and informative for questions we had. The large screened in porch is a huge plus - we had our morning coffee and evening meals there and were able to watch our pooches play in the lake. The flat yard layout out to the dock was great for sitting around the fire at night and being right near the water. The water was very clear as well as you could sit on the dock and see all of the sunnies swimming by. The lake itself is not too busy and very enjoyable for boating. The neighbors were also very pleasant. My husband and I would highly recommend this place and definitely plan on going back :-)
We enjoyed the cabin. It has all the amenities needed for a lake vacation. Our favorite room was the enclosed screened porch which has large glass windows that slide open to allow for a clear view of the lake's sights and sounds. It was the perfect place for our meals. The large grassy lot is perfect for games. There are many chairs plus a grill and outside picnic table.
The lake is wild on the opposite shore. We enjoyed hearing the bullfrogs croak in a mighty chorus near our shore and saw eagles flying overhead. We canoed in the mornings and enjoyed the fishing boat for quicker trips up and down the lake. The fishermen among us were successful in fishing off the dock and we floated around in the water on inflatable toys. We even saw a large snapping turtle on one of our walks near the cabin.
This is a very nice cabin and lot with easy access to the lake. There is a lot of natural light and the rooms have ceiling fans if it happens to be a very hot week.

Everything about the property and home exceeded our expectations. It was great having a garage to keep the bikes and tubes in. The mud room area with the washer and dryer was also a big plus. The home itself was very nice with two full bathrooms with plenty of hot water. The screened in porch was huge we ate all our meals and enjoyed playing games late into the night out there. Then there is the deck with the grill and picnic table, the big back yard, fire pit area and docks. Plus the furniture and furnishing were great you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into making sure everything you could need was there. My family enjoyed the lake and home and will be looking at returning next year.
