Overview

About the property

2 bedroom apartment to sleep 4 close to amenities and beaches

Our beautiful apartment in St. Maxime is situated on a new, high quality domain set in park land, 1.5km from the town centre. The house is spacious, light and airy and offers guests a peaceful and convenient location from which to explore the stunning beaches and picturesque villages of the Cote d'Azur. Local amenities are excellent, the nearest supermarket being situated less than three minutes drive from the park. The beautiful town and port is within walking distance, as is the St. Maxime 'Aqualand'.

Both kitchen and spacious lounge open out onto a large terrace area ideal for al fresco living. Access to the upstairs balcony can be gained from each of the two large bedrooms. The communal pool is for exclusive use by residents and offers exceptional views over the Gulf of St Tropez and the surrounding hillside. The apartment has a garage and ample off-road parking.

St. Maxime is a charming seaside town situated on the Gulf of St. Tropez. It offers visitors an exceptional climate and a calm pace of life all the year round. The picturesque cobbled streets offer an excellent variety of boutiques, restaurants and outdoor cafes in which to while away the time. In the heart of the old town you will discover many houses which have been renovated in their original style with their roofs of Roman tiles, shady squares, the covered provencal market (open every day except Mondays in winter), the square tower which holds the museum of local traditions and the 18th century campanile bell tower of wrought iron. Colourful outdoor markets provide a wide range of fine regional produce as well as a wide choice of ready cooked meals!

Sainte Maxime's location on the Gulf of St Tropez gives convenient access to the many pretty sandy bays and the stunning beaches of La Nartelle (3km) and Pampelonne (15km).

The historic hilltop villages of Grimaud, Gassin, Ramatuelle, Plan de la Tour and Le Garde Freinet are all within easy reach and command exceptional panoramic views of the surrounding area.

The lively port situated in the centre of town is a two minute walk from the shops. Here you can catch a regular ferry crossing to St. Tropez (12 euros return) or tour the Gulf passing the residences of many well known celebrities and stopping off in Port Grimaud. Other excursions are available to the Islands of Hyeres, Port Cros, Porquerolles and The Islands of Lerins.

Golf is very popular in Sainte Maxime. The International course is set in the marvellous setting of the garrique and of cork trees, facing the bay of St. Tropez. With over 300 days of sunshine per year it makes Sainte Maxime a perfect place to enjoy golf in the winter months as well as the summer.

The climate is particularly mild in winter: between 12 and 20 degrees centigrade, warm and airy in summer: 27 degrees on average.

Super stay, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

just came home from our trip to Sainte maxime park. we had a great stay, the house was super. The space was great and the house was in perfect condition. Great pool aerea, never crowded allthough in july month. and super tips from Adrian and Lynda regarding what beach was the best - we loved nartelle beach. Perfect location, we drove allmost every day/night the 2 min to sainte maxime center and realy enjoyed that we could get "everywhere" in a short matter of time. Super trip to Saint Tropez with the boats from sainte maxime harbor. If you go with children a trip to the aqua land(just arround the corner from the house) is super. we bought a 2 day pass, and we loved it :o) shopping + backery allso just arround the corner - we would love to go there again. Fantastic holiday

  • 5 of 5

We (2adults and 2 teenagers, 16 & 14years old) have just returned from a 3 week stay at this property and I'm sure we will return.

Adrian responded to emails very promptly and I spoke with him before I made the booking. We were delayed in traffic on our way to the property by 3 hours, Adrian did everything he could to ensure we were met when we arrived and responded quickly to my text messages and kept me informed.

Having visited Ste Maxime numerous times over the last 12 years and the previous property we have rented being unavailable it was hard to choose an alternative but we made the right choice.

It's in a good location and the walk to the centre of town takes about 25minutes, the supermarket is within a 10 minute walk if you only need a few things and the bakery at the bottom of the shortcut is only a 5 minute walk.

The pool is clean and although we visited at the height of summer it was never over crowded and we always got 4 sun loungers.

The property is in a great southerly facing position, with the downstairs patio area being covered by the upstairs balcony so you can have shade if you want it.

The property is spacious, clean and reasonably well equipped, we could have done with a full size freezer rather than an icebox for a 3,week stay, but this was a minor inconvenience to shop more regularly than we would have liked.

Although the property doesn't have airconditioning, if you keep the shutters closed in the day with the inside doors open, it is ok.

The property is perfectly located for visiting nearby towns. Our favourite beach is Nartelle and you can be there in about 15 minutes by car. There's free parking, toilets and showers on the beach and a great selection of beach restaurants. We also went to Tahiti beach in St Tropez a few times, you do need to be on the road before 9am, if not the traffic is bad and it will take hours to get there! The ferry from Ste Maxime is great if you want to visit the town of St Tropez it's only 13 euro each and runs every 15 minutes.

We also visited Monaco, Menton and San Remo in Italy, the furthest being a couple of hours drive up the motorway and worth a visit. There are lots of other towns within an hour or so which we have visited on previous holidays

We love Ste Maxime and will definitely return again. Thanks Adrian for sharing your property with us.

Great stay in St maxime

  • 5 of 5

With my family (2 small kids), we spent 3 weeks in the apartment and we really enjoyed our stay in St Maxime.

The booking process was very easy and Adrian answered all our questions very fast. Upon arrival, the apartment was ready for us and we were welcomed with a nice surprise from Adrian.

The apartment was exactly as per the description and met all our expectations. We really enjoyed the large terrasse, ideal for breakfast or diner. We could also do some bbq in the evening. The apartment was large enough for the four of us and nicely decorated.

The St Maxime Park was very quite and well located (only 2km from la Nartelle beach and the center of St Maxime). There is a great bakery around the corner and a supermarket really close. The pool was nice and never too crowded. We especially enjoyed the small pool for kids.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in St Maxime and would definitely come back to this place...

Nice easter holidays in a beautiful Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Me and my Family spent one week at this Apartment. Fortunatelly the weather was warm and sunny the whole time so we could visit a lot of places especially the Sea and the Beach ..but the Most Important Thing was this beautiful Apartment which was very clean and arranged with flowers and lots of other Things to feel very well during the time we spent inside the House. The Apartment was good to find and close to Saint maxime and the carefour so that we got everything what we needed. All in all we can recommend this Apartment and we want to come back again definitely !

A really nice holiday property

  • 4 of 5

We have just returned from two weeks at Sainte Maxime Parc. We really enjoyed our time in this area, and despite the crazy amounts of traffic on the roads in what is a very popular holiday destination town, we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. The trick was to go out early (which we prefer anyway) to avoid the jams. Especially bad is the road to St. Tropez! However, even though the surrounding area was very busy, Sainte Maxime Parc remained quiet and peaceful. The pool area was particularly popular with our family and was very clean and well maintained.

The children aged 7 and 9 were delighted to see Aqualand so close, and purchasing tickets on line before the trip ensured we had the best deal for a 2 day pass. Recommended for families with children. Other favourites were Port Grimaud and all the local markets.

The property is true to the photographs used and fairly well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the upstairs bathroom is a really good size for families. The comfy sofas and outdoor furniture was all stylish and well looked after. We would have liked to have seen a little more up to date local information in the house folder, but a trip to the local tourism office remedied this, and perhaps the addition of a visitors book to read about past guests recommendations would have been nice!

A relaxed 2 week summer holiday which was really enjoyed by the Megret family. My only advice would be to take some decent binoculars to see Saint Tropez and the big motor yachts from afar to avoid the traffic! Many thanks to Adrian for quickly answering all my questions throughout the smooth running booking process.

Owner's Response: So pleased you had great time! Yes, the roads are busy, particularly in the first two weeks of August and journeys to and from St Tropez can take a long time. The trick is to travel before 9.30 a.m. Alternatively, there is a regular ferry from St Maxime to Port Grimaud and/or St Tropez which takes 10 minutes! One of our family friendly beaches is La Nartelle which is in the opposite direction to main traffic east of the town. The journey takes under 10 minutes and there is ample parking even in the height of the season.

Superb holiday location

  • 5 of 5

Spent a week at St Maxime Park - greeted by friends of owners who gave us good knowledge of local area especially the markets. St Raphael was Sunday am all along sea front. St Tropez Tues am and St Algulf Fri am -also one at ST Maxime which we did. Not find!

The apartment was spotless and very comfortable fans were supplied in the bedrooms. We had breakfast every morning on the terrace. The pool was excellent and never too crowded. St Maxime itself had many restaurants and was buzzing in the evening with shops and market stalls to wander round after evening meal and ice cream shops! A visit to St Tropez beaches is a must and also Monaco was a good day out.

St Maxime Park was well maintained with the pool being attended to each morning.

We would thoroughly recommend a holiday here - Tres Bon!!!!!

Car: recommended

St. Maxime is faithful to its traditions and information regarding the many festivals, concerts and parades that take place throughout the year can be accessed from the Tourist Information Office situated in the centre of town. From the 'Corso du Mimosa' floral procession in February to the 'Bain du Bout de l'an' in December, St. Maxime offers a host of original events.

The local area offers a wide range of activities to cater for all tastes! If winetasting is your passion then you won't be disappointed. Within a 30 minute driving radius there are far too many vineyards and wineries to mention!

Sainte Tropez is 14km along the coast. The journey can take anything from 20 minutes to over two hours depending on the time of day you travel. Local knowledge is a must before embarking on the journey! However, the regular 10 minute ferry crossing is a far more relaxing way to visit probably the most famous location on the Riviera.
