Beautiful Family Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

The property and home were beautiful. We had all the supplies we needed to relax and enjoy. The home was beautifully decorated and in immaculate condition. The owner contacted us multiple times during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Our family of 12 consisted of ages from 6-75 and everyone had plenty to do. From hiking the property to playing board games, we never had a dull moment. The location is perfect for visiting Chattanooga or Lookout Mountain. One of our favorite places was Cloudland Canyon State Park. The views are amazing and if you are adventurous enough to hike to the waterfall, you will be amazed at the beauty! I would definitely recommend this property! I hope to come back again some day!!!

Amazing secluded property

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, our daughters and their husbands, and our four little grandsons wanted to get together for some quality time this summer and this place was just what we were looking for! The spacious cabin had plenty of bedrooms and its layout was great for allowing sleepers/nappers to be undisturbed. We could put the boys to bed and then play cards in the extra family room without waking them. The men enjoyed fishing and shooting and we all enjoyed walking around the lakes. The little boys loved tromping through the mud (thank goodness for rubber boots!) and splashing in the puddles. The kitchen was well-equipped and there were plenty of towels.

One thing to note: according to the website the coffeemaker needed cone-shaped filters so I bought some but actually, it uses the regular kind.

Also, the small fishing cabin by one of the lakes is very rustic and does not have railings so it is not a good location for taking small children. A boat and a couple of chairs were in that lake when we arrived.

We had a lovely time and would definitely consider renting this cabin again.

The best location, the best value, THE best weekend.

  • 5 of 5

This property is amazing. Everything you'd want in a cabin. Scenery, nature, seclusion. Chattanooga is a super easy 30 minute drive and the local town of Trenton has anything you'd need in a pinch. Vickie, the host, is a top-notch communicator whom I HIGHLY recommend. It could not have been any more perfect for myself and our group.

Most incredible vacation home for your family!

  • 5 of 5

I don't know where to begin....the beautiful surroundings or the immaculate and spacious home! Our family (7) of us thoroughly enjoyed our week at this gorgeous home. Perfect for our grandkids, 2 and 5, to explore the grounds. Perfect for my husband to fish at one of the lakes on the property (where he stayed out on the boat for hours and hours)! And perfect for my daughter and I to sit on one of the porches, rocking and reading the day away. The owner, Vickie, was so gracious and hospitable!

We traveled to Nashville, Chattanooga, and even Gatlinburg during our visit and it was delightful to come home to this property to grill outside and take long walks on this private estate.

The home has every amenity....just take your clothes and your toothbrush! We can't wait to return!

Property not as described

  • 1 of 5

This is a men's hunting camp, not a family getaway. From the moment you enter the house, you are greeted with broken appliances, lamps, barely any outside lighting, filthy stained rugs, towels and sofas, broken patio furniture, etc. and other people's things left in bedrooms, kitchen, etc.. The house is in desperate need of updating. We notified the owner how disappointed we were on the first day. She tried to be receptive to it, but there were far too many things wrong with the place for her to fix. On top of this, she tried accusing us of breaking something in her house. We were already suspicious of the owner as she had tried to get me to text her a photo of the front and back of my credit card, which she claimed is standard protocol. The warnings of "if you borrow the canoe", "if you swim in the pond", and "wash off before entering the hot tub" are a complete joke. The fish camp is a dilapidated shack littered with beer cans and cigarette butts and rusted out chairs thrown in pond. The hot tub was not only empty but had a "Do Not Use" sign posted on it. The whole stay we were baffled as to why there were so many positive reviews.

Owner's Response: As you can see from past reviews, this property is not a hunting place. Having rented it for almost two years with excellent reviews, speaks for itself. Upon arrival this family sent an email regarding some concerns. I immediately went to the property to address their concerns. Upon my arrival they asked for money back which I did not agree to. There is not any broken appliances. There was a toaster that didn't burn on one side and it has been replaced. The home has been updated as you can see from the photos. One of these guest did break a smooth top stove (It could have been one of the children they had with them). My cleaner notified me of the broken stove immediately after they departed. Also, the stove was not broken when I was there to address their concerns. If these guest had read their rental agreement, they would have known what our policy was regarding a damage deposit. (Either a credit card or a cash deposit are acceptable) There is never any trash on this property, unless some of their guest threw it out! There are more than 15 lights around the covered porches! You just can't please some people! It was apparent from their arrival they were just trying to get some money back!
