Serene cabin along the renown trout stream-Penn's Creek-237 Eagle Lane, Millmont

Bedrooms 3
Separate WC's1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Quaint waterfront cabin, with a view and calm to put you in awe.

Cot N Munch is located on one of the best trout fishing streams on the East Coast, and located between Lewisburg and State College. This is on stocked water and you will have the usual on and off flow of passing fisherman, but when they leave, you get to stay.

Kitchen includes stove refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans and utensils. We supply heavy duty paper place settings, saving water use and work for you. Sleeping arrangements consist of a private downstairs queen bed. Upstairs is a semi-private double and two single beds. More than enough room to accommodate up to 6 people. The cabin's "bathroom" is fitted with an eco friendly composting toilet, and an old fashioned pitcher and bowl for quick wash-ups. Just a few steps from the cabin is the shower house. In this building you will find two showers as shown in the pictures, with a dressing room. Also in this building is a double bowl sink where you can gather water for cooking, washing your dishes in the provided basins, or cleaning your catch from the creek. If you are feeling like a real pioneer, feel free to use the outhouse! There is a large 2 bay building to keep your vehicle under shelter and store your canoes or kayaks. We are within minutes of the Coburn to Cherry Run hiking and biking trail to the west and Buffalo Valley Rail Trail to the East. A short drive to groceries, restaurants and thousand of acres of state forest and state game lands, wineries, and micro breweries. We are only about 10 miles from Woodward Camp. Far enough away from yet close enough to everything you'll need. Great kayaking, fishing, hunting, hiking, snowmobiling, or just a quiet, peaceful, relaxing weekend getaway. Sorry-must be 21 years of age to rent our cabin and IF YOU PLAN ON FISHING--YOU MUST HAVE A VALID PA FISHING LICENSE. We encourage you to please read all the information in the rental agreement and the paperwork on the table upon your arrival. It will make our job easier when you leave and lower the time it takes to prepare for the next guest. Thank You

About John and Sandy Erdley

Hello, John and Sandy Erdley here. I'm an asphalt construction worker and musician and my wife Sandy is in retail. After moving here from Main Street, over 20 years ago, we came upon this cabin on one of our first walks down the old rail bed. After 3 tries to purchase it over a 17 year period we finally got it. We get to enjoy it when you our guests are not here and we only hope that you, our guests enjoy it as much as we do.

John and Sandy Erdley purchased this cabin in 2013

Why John and Sandy Erdley chose Pennsylvania

Cot N Munch is located on the banks of one of the most famous Trout streams on the East coast, the Penns Creek., famous for it's Green Drake hatch and fly fishing. In my early teens I and my 2 Uncles would visit the Weikert area right up the road for the first day of Trout Season. On the way home we would stop and walk down a road to the Penns. One day awhile back when walking back to my house after a morning of fishing I realized the road I now live on was that road. So this is a very special place to me. Over the years I've spent quite some time on the beautiful water of the Penns Creek and from what I've seen I can tell you there are few cabins that have as much privacy, with the view and calm you have at Cot N Munch.

What makes this cabin unique

Cot N Munch is centrally located between Lewisburgs Bucknell University and State College, home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. It is on stocked water and it's the perfect place to kayak to or from. We are within minutes of the Coburn to Cherry Run Hiking and Biking trail to the West and Buffalo Valley trail to the East. A short drive to groceries, fuel, restaurants, microbreweries, wineries, State Forrest and State Game Lands. We are only 10 miles from Woodward Camp, a modern X game training facility.

Need to mention: In the garage you will find an unlimited (be reasonable) amount of firewood. Please keep in mind the size of your fire and weather conditions and make sure it is out before you leave.

If you are going to smoke, smoke outside and please use the three sand buckets or fire pit. Respect our property and the next guest by not throwing butts on our property. If you can not you will be charged extra on a revisit.

The wall at the front of the property was my last accomplishment prior to back surgery. It took a lot of time and energy. This being said, do not play or allow the children to play on the wall.

Do not move picnic table. The chairs around the fir ring may be moved wherever you wish, except to your home.

Thank You, John

Tranquil and cozy get away

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time in this cabin. This is a very unique and cozy little cabin that I would recommend to everyone I know. We actually loved the fact that the cabin itself had no running water and could only be accessed in the shower area. It gave it just that much more of a rustic, authentic camp type feel. The setting and scenery is beautiful and there is a ton to do and see. Plentiful wildlife and natural beauty. We were lucky enough to be there during a full moon and were quickly reminded just how bright the stars shine in the country. The fire pit was amazing, and it was really nice to fall asleep surrounded by only the sound of the creek flowing and a lack of city lights. Truly wonderful experience. We will be back frequently!

Owner's Response: To our most recent cabin guests, First of all thank you so much for your wonderful review of our cabin. Second, we are so happy you had such a great time. We appreciate the leave it as you found it that all our guest follow so well but when Sandy returned from the cabin with the linens and tomorrow to do list for me she said it was left as if no one was even there. We hope to see you return and hope you enjoy your life wherever you are but especially at Cotton N Munch. Once again, thank you, John and Sandy

A Little Piece of Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, sister and I stayed at the cabin for the famous Green Drake hatch along Penn's Creek at the end of May. We had a wonderful time. I caught so many fish, I got a hand cramp ! The cabin had anything and everything you could possible need for a stay in the woods, even to the marshmallow sticks and mountain pie makers for the campfire. Sandy and John could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Truly a memorable and very enjoyable stay. Will return soon!

Everything as expected and more

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed the cabin. Nice, comfortable and clean. John and Sandy provide everything you need. From bedding to towels and linens, cookware and even grilling charcoal and tools. You really don't have to bring anything except your food. Even the grounds around the cabin are nicely done.

Will be back.

Peaceful Easy Feeling

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I stayed at the Erdleys cabin on the way back from McKean Co. Pa to take our fathers ashes to Kinzua Bridge State Park. The cabin was everything it was advertised and more. We wanted to honor our fathers love of his state of Pennsylvania by fishing on the Penn creek. We caught trout and smallmouth bass . It was awesome. John met us and led us down to the camp. I could see by how excited he was that he is very proud of the camp. He also directed us and made a call to a local grocery store so we could get some food before nightfall.I sat and marveled at the rock wall he built and imagined all the hours and blood sweat and tears it took to complete it. My hats off to you John. Cant wait to bring my wife up for a few days. She would love watching the geese fly in formation and land on the Penn in front of cabin. Thank You John and Sandy. Warm & cozy.

  • 5 of 5

The weather was cold, windy and rainy but the cabin was comfortable, warm and cozy! We had a great time despite the rain. We caught a nice rainbow trout, so we didn't get skunked. Between the sound of the water, the rain on the roof and the birds singing, we slept great. There's a lot to do and see in the area. We definitely plan to return.
