Beautiful privately owned lake cabin on 800 acre lake, good walleye fishing, swimming, skiing, tubing etc. This cabin is set on a 1 acre lot which allows for a more private setting, outdoor activities, bonfires and relaxation. Newly renovated full bathrooms allowing a master bath suite and second full bath off the hallway. All of the beds and linens are new.
The kitchen has been upgraded with all of the kitchen accessories needed to stay in and cook.
You will see all kinds of wildlife including eagles perched above the cabin in the white pines. The view from the living room is spectacular through 3 - 70" windows.
We are perfectly located between Walker and Park Rapids that allow everything from good restaurants, antiquing, shopping, fishing excursions etc - you can enjoy a variety of experiences.
The Heartland State Trail is right around the corner and wonderful for walking and biking,. Bike rentals are available locally.
It is a quiet setting with easy access to the city of Akeley, Park Rapids and Walker, MN.
Vacationed in the area since 1980. Offering our Lake Home for the months of May, June, July, August and September.
Jon Allen purchased this cabin in 2015
Cabin close to the lake and perfect all around clean lake
Private setting, patio right off the water and the cabin and dock within steps of the lake
We really enjoyed the property, it was quiet, cozy, clean and convenient to everything we needed. We were able to store our boat on the lift, which allowed us to fish conveniently at anytime. Would definitely recommend this property and the owner was extremely accommodating.
This cabin has been wonderfully remodeled and excellently furnished. The two bathrooms have all modern equipment and fixtures, as does the kitchen. The kitchen is completely provisioned. We loved the Fiestaware dishes especially. The view from the living room is spectacular, with many windows by which to see the lake, which is only 20 feet away! (something you won't find very often anymore). The only thing lacking is a beach, but there is a public beach right across the lake.
This place is very nice and recently remodeled. Everything was clean...including the lake. The little extras were appreciated. We used the grill often and had everything needed for cooking. We loved that beach towels were provided for our stay, it was a very nice extra! Having a boat lift for our use was also nice. Fishing was amazing, however, we were unable to catch any walleye. My son didn't like that he was unable to swim off the dock due to weeds. This place is priced right and well-maintained. The cabin location is great! We went to Walker and Bemidji, to a local winery, took our boat to Leech Lake for a day and enjoyed Akeley and Nevis. Overall we enjoyed our stay. However, I was hoping for more seclusion.
This property was an extremely pleasant surprise! The cabin itself was very spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated. All bedding was new, and in excellent shape. Having the second bathroom was very convenient. The cabin was fully stocked with all new plates, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, etc. that anyone could possibly need. The lakefront view from the living room was AMAZING, and very much enjoyed by all. Swimming was great once you got beyond the weeds by the dock, as the lake is extremely clean. Distance to the Heartland Bike Trail system was only a mile away, so that proximity was awesome, as we biked over 50 miles on that trail throughout the week we were there. Having the boat lift on the lakeshore property was convenient. We enjoyed many boat rides around the lake. One final and unexpected surprise was the two hour fireworks display on the lake on July 3 and then even some additional fireworks on Monday, July 4. It was so fun to sit around the campfire, and enjoy the fireworks display just steps from the cabin! I would definitely highly recommend this property to family and friends. Even on a rainy day, there was so much to do in the area, with a local movie theater, restaurants, shopping and we even toured (and taste-tested wine) at Forestedge Winery. We have rented many properties on many different lakes in northern Minnesota over the years, and this property was by far, superior to all we have previously rented.
The interior like brand new and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were very comfortable. Big 60 inch smart tv with dvd player, and a bunch of movies. Big windows with screens and a a good cross breeze. A GREAT LAKE VIEW!
a really nice dock with a jet ski lift, and a boat lift. Great for tubing.
Fishing was good off the dock. Kids had a great time!
Would stay here again!!!!
The cons, no ac, cable, wifi and the dirt hill driveway
This was a great find for us! Extremely affordable. A perfect, relaxing getaway on a picturesque lake. The view is wonderful and the lake is literally 10 steps away from the cabin. Accommodations are very quaint, very comfortable and nicely updated. We were looking for something that provided that "cabin on a lake in Minnesota experience", and we found it here. My wife and I highly recommend this property.
