A great location to be while visiting Lake Placid and the Adirondacks. Situated on a golf course and in a scenic neighborhood. You will be a walk away from Maggie's Pub and the Lake Placid Lodge. The Jack Rabbit Trail is just outside the door for hiking or cross country skiing. Follow the Jack Rabbit Trail towards town to discover a sweet little swimming hole at the foot of Lake Placid. It's a great place to return to after an active day in or around Lake Placid.

About The Owner

I've always loved the ADK's and was an avid camper, however, after a certain age, you begin to look for more comfortable "camping" conditions. I purchased this small condo and have enjoyed sharing it with other people who love the outdoors and the ADK's. I just retired from teaching middle school math and am now employed a Ventosa Vineyards and also at Hobart William Smith Colleges, both in the Fingerlakes region of upstate NY. I've completed 19 marathons and hope to squeak just one more out to make it an even 20. I enjoy skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, hiking, running and just being outisde. My small condo is an little dream come true for me. I look forward to sharing it with you and hope that you would treat it as you would your own home. Looking forward to hearing from you! Be well, Jon

Why The Owner chose Adirondacks

Northern Light Lodge is just off the beaten path. Its a quiet place to return to after a great day of skiing, hiking, kayaking or just being outdoors. Its a place to come back to and enjoy the fireplace and maybe a night cap at Maggie's Pub.

Wonderful little place just outside of Lake Placid

  • 4 of 5

Working fireplace, comfortable bed, full kitchen with everything you need. Easy and close access to Lake Placid. Great owner trying to please. Couple little communication glitches, but the owner is a great guy eager to please. We'll stay there again.

Immaculate and well-equiped place; kind and hospitable host. Would definitely recommend!

  • 5 of 5

Jon's condo was exactly as described, maybe even better. Everything we needed for a 3 night stay was there. The building and the condo were so clean and well-kept, with convenient parking right outside the door. Arranging our stay with Jon could not have been easier, and we arrived to a bottle of wine and snacks...so perfect. I definitely recommend this place for your stay in Lake Placid. The area is amazing! Thanks, Jon!

Very pleasant, well-appointed apartment

  • 5 of 5

This is a one-bedroom apartment with a fold-out couch in the living room, located near the original Lake Placid Lodge. The apartment is very clean and well set-up, with new furnishings. Everything was in good condition. I stayed there with my husband and adult son while day-hiking in the High Peaks. We used the kitchen a lot; it had all the equipment we needed. (There is no kitchen table, but stools around the counter worked fine for us.). There is a brand new washer-dryer. Jon, the owner, was very responsive. The only flaw is that the electricity went out several times one evening -- it went back on immediately, but we had to keep resetting the digital clocks on the microwave and stove. Not a big deal but worth mentioning.

Owner's Response: Thank you Joanna! I'm glad my place worked out for the three of you. I've discovered that life in the mountains comes with power interruptions . Seems as though every time I get there I have to reset the clocks! Just be part of Adirondack living. Thank you again. I'm appreciative. Jon

A quiet little slice of paradise

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for quiet, peaceful and a place with a fireplace to relax as we rented in spring. Jon's place exceeded all our expectations. Beautifully located in an area that allowed us to comfortably walk around the neighbourhood, around the golf course and down to the lake. It was serene and quiet. We instantly felt right at home as soon as we arrived. This beautiful home is well equipped with anything you need if you chose to make your own meals. It is also conveniently located just a few minutes away from town where a multitude of great restaurant options abound. Grocery stores are literally minutes away. I could not believe how Jon had thought of everything we could possibly need and how he provided us with such a lovely welcome gift. Being in the hospitality industry, I have pretty high standards and Jon is the consummate host. This condo was just right for the two of us and it was spotlessly clean. The king bed was very comfortable. We would highly recommend this great home-away-from home and we are hopeful to come back in the not too distant future. Thank you Jon.

Cozy condo, convienent to Lake Placid and Whiteface

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Northern Lights lodge was highly enjoyable and comfortable. It was in clean, orderly condition and had all of the features we were expecting. The bed and couches were very comfortable. Additionally, it was only minutes from Lake Placid and just a scenic 15 minute drive to the Whiteface ski area.

Great property; generous owner; incredible responsiveness.

  • 5 of 5

This is an awesome rental. Clean, cozy, quite comfortable, with all the necessities. Easy-to-get-to, yet quiet location just two or three minutes from the "main drag" of Lake Placid. The owner was wonderful to deal with- very responsive, very generous, and very helpful. Lake Placid is a neat town with unique attractions and activities- the bobsled and skeleton rides are wild, the top of the ski jump is dazzling, and the Miracle on Ice rink is there! Highest recommendation.
