We had a great vacation. The house was well equipped, with all the kitchen things you need and plenty to keep the kids entertained. Location on the lake was lovely, the water was warm, and we had a lot of fun out on the kayaks and inflatables. And we also enjoyed relaxing outdoors by the fire in the evening.
Stayed over Columbus Day weekend which can get chilly in Maine. When we needed the heat, it worked well in the house. Thankfully we had a beautiful weekend and only needed it one night. Plenty of space for us. We didn't get to take advantage of all the house had to offer because of the time of year. The pond looked nice and sandy bottomed for kids. The water warmed up nice in the house for showers. I know people have complained about no blinds or curtains. We loved waking up to the view of the pond in the morning. The house provided a nice curtained off area for changing in privacy which worked just fine. We would stay again. Howie the owner was great to work with.
Delightful peaceful mini-vacation for 70 and 76 year olds! The road in almost scared us off but what charm and beauty we enjoyed once in and around the cottage! Delightful! From my husband having a gas grill for our fresh corn to the well equipped kitchen for my lobster cooking we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. And then there was the loon and hawk that entertained us. The picnic table was our favorite to sit and read. Thank you, thank you!
We had a great stay here for my partner's birthday. Very last minute decision and booked with ease. The listing was as described...cute and newly updated camp. We found when we got there non-potable water...but the hosts has a water dispenser available for drinking water. Surprised to see no curtains on any windows...we put some towels up to cover the early morning sun. Lots of games and gadgets for little ones...we had none in our group but it was still nice to see. Loved that there was a kayak and other floatation devices available as well. The pond is small and private...nice sandy beach front and hammock. We had a family member suffer a small injury, and were held responsible for replacing a set of sheets due to some blood. Other than that, awesome experience!
Cabin and site delivered much more than promised. We were comfortable with nine sleepers, 13 for Labor Day BBQ. Steps from the water. Wife and son in law said it was the most time they had spent in the water since they were kids. Very quiet, peaceful and secluded. Saw less than 10 people on the water, besides us, on a hot Labor Day. Hope to go back next year! Howard, thank you for your hospitality.
Great location, nice pond, use of two kayaks, lots of sleeping space. Close access to nice hiking trails. Very peaceful and off the grid.
Could use some curtains.
