Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Historic District - The Chapel Gate Cottage

2 BR, 1 BA Located Minutes From Naval Academy Gate 3 And Downtown Annapolis

The Chapel Gate House in Downtown Annapolis was designed with vacationers, executives, and the friends/families of the Naval Academy midshipmen in mind and intended to make guests feel as if they are staying in a wonderfully relaxing, extremely comfortable historic home in the heart of Maryland's Capital.

This truly stunning residence is conveniently located, granting instant access to the Chapel Gate of The US Naval Academy (gate 3), the Annapolis Water Front District (known as "Ego-Alley") local restaurants & pubs, and a variety of specialty boutiques. Just around the corner you will find the famous Maryland Ave. Where boutique stores, Irish pubs, and coffee shops can be enjoyed with a small town feel.

The location is ideal for USNA events, weddings, sailing regattas, weekend get-a-aways and business travel. This special historic residence has just undergone an extensive renovation and was thoughtfully designed with the discriminating traveler in mind.

Used exclusively as a short-term “home-away from-home”, the house is free of any personal clutter - The only items you will find in the home are there to make your stay comfortable, convenient & stress-free.

Professionally cleaned between every guest's stay, this beautifully maintained home sleeps four (4) comfortably in 2 bedrooms (1 king bed / 1 queen bed and a large sofa with linens for a single guest in the family room).

Free Wi-Fi included.

Living room has a 50" flat screen TV with cable and sports channels, perfect for football weekends.

The kitchen is fully stocked. Coffee is provided. Shampoo & conditioner & bath soaps are provided. Also included is a blow dryer, iron & ironing board, dish detergent, laundry detergent, pots & pans, a toaster, etc.

For those seeking a break away from the hustle and bustle, a private courtyard provides the perfect setting for intimate dining or catching up on a good book. A BBQ grill is included on the hardscaped patio for your evening cookouts.

The Chapel Gate House has a fascinating history and was originally located on the Naval Academy grounds in the early 1900s. These historic homes were literally taken down and rebuilt on what is now College Ave. We hope you enjoy a delightful experience in Annapolis.

Good experience

  • 4 of 5

Exactly as advertised. No surprises. Very clean and well done two bedroom directly outside USNA Gate #3. Well appointed. Host left a great loaf of cinnamon bread for us. Comes with everything you need. Queen bed room a bit on the tight side but no issues. Comfortable furniture and huge TV. Parking is a bit of a challenge but they provide passes for street spots but they are hard to come by. Some noise from the apartment above could be heard via loud foot steps at times but was not an issue. Would definitely stay there again. Not cheap but if you have two couples it is cheaper than a nice hotel.

Can't beat the location of this lovely apartment!

  • 5 of 5

I booked this apartment for my 30 year USNA reunion, and stayed here with my academy roommate, my husband, and daughter. The apartment is spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The owner left us wonderful cinnamon bread and coffee, which was much appreciated. We were walking distance to the academy, and about a mile to the stadium. We parked once and walked to everything. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Annapolis, you will not be disappointed!

From the moment we entered the lovely teal door, we were impressed! Updated everything. Clean and uncluttered. One block from Gate 3. Short walking distance to shops, restaurants, water, etc. Owner stocked kitchen with snacks and drinks. We will stay here everytime it is available.

Immaculate, Welcoming and a Block from USNA Chapel Entrance - A Commissioning Week Dream!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at the apartment during Commissioning Week last month with our 3 year old and 8 month old daughters, and it was simply fantastic. The apartment was immaculately clean. If you thought, "Why the pics of the cabinet and door knobs?", wait until you see the unit in person: the attention to detail, the high end appliances and fixtures, wi-fi and cable, all made it feel like home and added ease to our visit. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a bottle of wine, six pack of beer, sausage/cheese/cracker spread, granola, a bag of ground coffee, gourmet bread and butter, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. There were toiletries, fresh towels and linens, and a washer/dryer in one bedroom closet (clutch if you have little ones!) and a kitchen stocked with dishes, glasses, citronella candles, garbage bags, you name it, it was there. A clean grill was just outside the kitchen along a bin fully stocked with charcoal. Not featured in the owner's pics is an absolutely lovely, totally private back patio. We had several meals out there with the girls and our graduating midshipman and my wife and I enjoyed a few glasses of wine after the girls went down - it was spectacular. The location is second to none if you are going to the Naval Academy. It is literally a block from a main entrance (30-60 seconds) near the Chapel (Gate 3), which was key for us as we bobbed back and forth with the girls for Mass at the Chapel, color parade, Blue Angels air show, the mid-store, etc. The location was the main reason we picked the apartment, and our expectations were exceeded. Even getting to Main Street was maybe just 5 minutes, an ideal stroll through historic downtown Annapolis after a big meal or a few beers. I can't commend the owners enough on their rehab, maintenance and hospitality. Simply outstanding. Now that my son has graduated, I don't know when I'll be be back, but I know where we'll be staying.
